Rachel's POV
It's time for the ball. Sarah helped me put on the most beautiful and elegant teal dress and matching shoes. Everyone was already in groups of people talking and having drinks in hand waiting for me to be revealed to everyone.
Liam was assigned to me for the night, always staying a meter behind me with another bodyguard called Carl.
Suddenly a man started getting everyone's attention. That was my que to stand in place at the top of the stairs. He was giving a speech and finally introduced me.
My heart was pounding and my hand were getting sweaty. I smiled as I started walking down the stairs like I was practised earlier today.
Chase's POV
As soon as I heard her name I turned to look. She was exquisite, the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She looked so elegant walking down the stairs like she was made for it.
There was a girl standing with me who was trying to get my attention, but I just kept staring. "THAT is the new princess to be... She looks so ordinary." Lady Kathrine was showing her disapproval by turning away and started chatting about all the gossip around the palace.
When Rachel was at the bottom of the stairs she was taken from person to person being introduced to everyone. Katherine was still trying to get my attention when I excused myself and walked straight to Rachel.
As soon as Rachel saw me her smile turned into a passive face, but I know I annoyed her. I smirked at her and she just looked away.
I got closer and as soon as I was in front of her I bowed. "Would you honour me with a dance Lady Rachel?"
Rachel's POV
I was rolling my eyes on the inside. The queen told me to never decline a dance. Especially if it was a bachelor. I nodded and he held out his hand for me to take. I took it as he lead me to the dance floor. He gently took my right hand and put his other hand on my back at a very respectable height, which made my body delighted by the touch. I looked into his emerald green eyes and found it difficult to keep my eyes off him. "You look beautiful... And surprisingly like a royal." I lifted my eyebrow. "Not sure if I should take that as an insult or a compliment."
He smirked. "Definitely a compliment"
I found myself blushing and looking away and looked up at him again. "So... You are a Castrel and you do a lot of business here?"
He smiled. "Have you been asking about me? "
My cheeks started heating up and I felt embarrassed. "No I- I just heard that our two countries has a lot of history before I learnt your name.
He looked a bit disappointed but loved that I was being nervous."Ah, yes I will be here a lot. If you ever want to talk, leave a note in our special place." He winked.
I Raised my brow again. My heart pounding fast. "Our special place?"
He looked very sure about himself with a confident smile. "Unless you have told someone about it?"
I shook my head. "Even if I did want to meet you alone in a secluded area. How will I get there? Have you seen my security?"
He leaned in close, making me blush more and whispered. "I have heard the palace has secret passages." My heart started pounding fast again after feeling his breath on my neck.
Then I heard a man clearing his throat behind us..
