Day 13-7

1059 Words
It had been a long day already, made longer by the incessant buzzing in Sera’s head of them all trying to find out what was going on. She was relieved to have it lessen when Doc joined the conversation. From the moment her and Theo had left the infirmary all of them were trying to figure out what was going on, she knew when Doc had arrived as the buzzing stopped. It wasn’t George giggling at the door that told Sera they were there, she already knew, but she couldn’t have them all overhear the s**t show that she was made aware of. Doc had joined, through their link, just about the time Theo was explaining how the Guild had made contact with all the original Mates. Well versed in the Guild laws, Doc had explained and advised Sera that Theo was factually right. But none but the Goddess could overwrite a Mate Bond, the Guild could not force that upon any of them. Not in Sera had any say in it. What have you told them Doc? Sera linked as she walked through the grounds, taking a moment to admire the clear blue fountain that stood dead centre of the land owned by Azure Moon. That you had something to discuss with them. Something important, and that they might need to go with you to discuss with Theo and Bella. Let me guess... panic? Big time. Clara stopped Helena climbing out the back window and running for it. Lucy went dead quiet and George... well he’s uncharacteristically not winding anyone up. Well that’s a good thing but it isn’t going to get better. No, and if you look to your right it just got a whole lot worse. Sera glanced to her right and saw the almighty Katrina storming her way over. “Exactly what we’re you doing with my Mate?!” She spat. “Having a chat.” Sera didn’t stop her stride. “Also, not your Mate.” Katrina darted in front of Sera’s path which caused her to stop before running into her. Fricking Lycan speed; Sera hated it with a passion. “A chat about what? Your little Gamma slut buddy?” Katrina stepped a little closer, “about your late-night rendezvous’ with Kristopher?” She stepped closer still. “Yes actually.” Sera crossed her arms, and enjoyed the puzzled look on Katrina's smarmy face. “What?” She was taken aback. “We. Spoke. About. Lucy. And. Me. With. Tyreen.” Sera eloquently pronounced each word carefully to ensure Katrina understood. “I explained that I was Tyreens mate not you.” “I’m not an i***t!” Katrina seethed. “Why has Molly been called to his office?” Sera walked round Katrina, tired of this conversation. “You’d have to ask Theo about that.” “He’s not Theo to you, he’s Alpha!” She shouted at Sera’s back, taking it as a victory of Sera walking away rather than the reality that Sera just couldn’t be bothered. ‘He’s not my Alpha’ Thought Sera to herself, before stopping the thought in its tracks. Enjoy that? Thanks for the heads up. Atleast we know Bella has her lot gathered. It will take time for them to come up to speed, I for one would like a moment alone to discuss between ourselves. Agreed, correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure Clara, Helena and Lucy all got rejected. Devil is in the details Sera. If the phrase wasn’t used, the Guild will say it didn’t count. Bunch of idiots. I would have used a different term but yes. We have to get exact details, every hurt word, every painful moment. I know, but we’ve never pushed anyone to tell us. Hell I don’t even know yours. Join the club, even I don’t. As Sera approached the guest houses, she could feel the air get thicker, closer, like blanket being laid over the house to hide it. ‘Smart Doc.’ He had developed a beautiful skill of illusion, his healing powers had grown a lot in his years at Red Sun, and along the way he found a few new tricks. One was an illusion magic, worked to hide things; a knife here, a loaf of bread there. He realised this also applied to building’s where he could pass an illusion of spending hours inside the ‘cocoon’ and only minutes had passed in the outside world. He couldn’t hold that one for long, but long enough in most circumstances. Although his most accomplished part of illusion was Sera’s scars across her face and neck, she didn’t lie to Theo and Bella that day she was brought to Red Sun. She had been attacked, and she had been patched up by the Packs Doctor but back then it wasn’t someone as marvellous as Doc. When he first saw Sera, that day she stood up to the Gammas attacking that poor Lycan, he swore to find the butcher who ‘healed’ her in the first place, her bones weren’t put back properly, the stitches were sloppy and those scars... slashed across the left side of her face and down her neck, how she survived them was a wonder to Doc. She had been kept hidden from view from the rest of the pack, kept safe under the watchful eye of Kristopher, so no-one else had seen them; 3 very distinct, very deep, Lycan claw strikes. If they had they would have believed her a reject and treated her like the rest, as play toys to be used until broken. As a fighter she stood a chance; a slim chance but a chance. She was damn good too; persuaded to end the barbaric ways that were happening a proposed a different solution. Doc was never sure of the details but that solution resulted in Sera being brought to him every other day, sometimes every day, in a precariously close to death situation. When Sera opened the door to be greeted with the look of fear in her friends’ eyes, it was Docs sympathetic eyes that gave her comfort. She thought that the time Doc had to snap her leg back into place, and sew up the 4-inch gash with no anaesthetic would be less painful than the conversations she was about to have.
