Day 12-2

“How unsafe is it to have that woman running about this place?” Snided Molly as Sera and George ran past them. “I know!” Joined Zoe. “Like we’ve told Theo, why doesn’t he chain her up?” “Only I get to call him Theo, you may address him as Alpha(!)” Katrina quipped through gritted teeth. “Do I have to whack it through you thick skull?” “No Katr- Luna apologies.” Zoe corrected upon a stern look. “It’s because he’s kind and just. He doesn’t believe in just chaining people up on the word of someone... even if that someone is his mate.” “But you aren’t, are you?” Molly relished in reminding Katrina of this fact, and didn’t follow her as quite a lost soul as Zoe. But found herself with the two for so long she doubted that Sera and her lot would take her in, mainly because Molly herself was to blame for quite a few nasty rumours being spread about them. Half of them she didn’t believe herself, and the other half Sera herself had never refuted them. “Yes. I. Am. His. Mate.” “No you’re not. If you were he surely would have claimed you by now, especially after you’re brazen announcement upon seeing him for 2 seconds.” “2 seconds is enough for the Goddess Bond to be created.” “Yeah Molly, don’t you know anything?” Giggled Zoe. “Our friend here is a Luna, mated to the most kind Alpha of ours and she knows that these Bonds can take time. He’s got a lot on his plate with the down fall of Red Sun, dealing with the survivors, his own pack, these rumours about the Guild, and with that wannabe Luna and her bastard son. Right Luna?” “Exactly.” Grinned Katrina, who was going to keep that rationalisation as her own. “That Omega w***e doesn’t hold a candle to me, and that monster of hers certainly doesn’t help matters.” “Monster? You’re calling George a monster now? Goddess, I knew you were deluded Katrina but not so low to attack a child!” Molly was shocked, both at how Katrina spoke of the boy and how she wasn’t surprised at how she spoke of the boy. Katrina laughed. “Well he is to most of the Lycans here. None of them dare to be near him, or Lucy, for their distrust of that conniving little witch of a woman.” “Distrust that we have created Katrina.” Molly ignored the look. “How sure are you that she was Kris’ mate?” Molly ignored the second look. “She did save us after all, so she can’t have been this monstrous, man stealing, liar all these years.” “YES SHE IS BECAUSE I SAY SHE IS!” The walls shook slightly as Katrinas outburst before she twirled her necklace in her hands and calmed, in a soothing but venomous tone she explained: “I saved you all those years ago Molly, not her. Yes I was with Kris, I never lied about that, but she took him from me. He wanted her, after all that time and effort I put in to get in his good books and out of the danky cell and into a warm, big, Manor House bed, she came out of nowhere and he claimed her as his mate. A human! The mate of one of the longest serving houses the Lycan world had seen! I did it all for you, for us!” “I know you did Katrina, and I’m forever in your debt for saving me from those Rogues...” Katrina felt ashamed, perhaps she wouldn’t if she knew the truth of that attack. “I’m just struggling... we’ve all heard the rumours that Lucy is his mate and after all Sera did its getting harder to believe all we’ve said about them.” “You best believe Molly. You’ve been saying the same s**t as me so if anything you’re just as to blame.” “I hate to interrupt ladies...” Peeped Zoe as Katrina bore down at her. “But if you look behind you...” She pointed over Katrinas shoulder and as she turned her skin prickled and blood boiled. Lucy. That sweet, innocent, poor Lucy was chatting with Her Mate. Walking, laughing without a care in the world. I’ve already lost one Alpha, I won’t lose another. Thought Katrina. “Watch this.” She said with a wink and a smile before bounding off. An unnatural squeal left her lips as she jumped at Theo. All Molly saw was Lucy quickly walking off with tears in her eyes as Theo peeled Molly off him, and the hurt in his eyes when he realised. It was then that Molly got a stronger feeling that she was wrong, oh so very wrong and what was worse is she didn’t know how to fix it. “Katrina we’ve talked about this.” Sighed Theo, fighting the urge to run after Lucy. He glanced over to her house and saw a rather defiant Clara and he decided it was best to turn back. Katrina followed. “Are we going back home?” She tried to smile sweetly, Theo wasn’t fooled. “No, I am. You are going back to your house.” “Can’t we walk together, stroll through our Pack and say hi to the people?” She waved at a young couple with their new child, who proceeded to burst into tears. Theo couldn’t help let out a small laugh. “Not our Pack Katrina, and I don’t think the people like you very much.” The couple were familiar to Theo, the female worked in the Manor House kitchens until recently; she made the best chocolate cheesecake, his favourite. “Go back home, I have Pack work to do.” He bounded up the steps before she had a chance to reply and shut himself in his office with a lovely aged bottle of port. What am I going to do about him? I have an idea. Ah Lenora, I wondered where you had gone. I’ve always been here Katrina, I’m your other half you can’t get rid of me. I know. You left for a moment though, where did you go? I went looking for answers, in the same place I found that pretty necklace of yours my Luna. And what did you find my dear wolf wonder? I found something disturbing, that pendant you where will only work for so long and it’d effectiveness wears quicker when the True Mate is nearby. I know you’ve seen it, the way he looks at her. He feels it... We just have to speed up the plan then. Get him to claim me, mark me, before it grows. He’s confused currently and won’t be for long. He doesn’t seem to believe what I’m telling him about them lot. Maybe because it isn’t true? Not helpful. You want to be a Luna wolf, I want to be a Luna. We need to work together dear, like we did before. If you listened to me maybe. Rather than acting like a school girl fauning over the hot jock you should act more Luna. I’m acting like a Mate in love and you aren’t the boss of me. An invisible sharp claw lashed to Katrina and hurled her to the wall. If it wasn’t for me killing your previous wolf and stealing that pretty Bonding necklace you wouldn’t be here. I’m the reason you’re alive Katrina and I know the truth. Katrina struggled against the feeling, gasping for air. It wasn’t you who saved poor Molly or Zoe, it was Sera. And you need her out the picture. She goes, Lucy goes... they all go. Leaving Theo to you. The hand released. Understood? Katrina simply nodded gaining her breath. “Katrina, are you alright?” A soft voice spoke out. Katrina saw George holding out a hand. “Yes thank you.” As she pulled herself together. “Why don’t you run and play with your friends? Oh yes, you don’t have any.” He glared at her and turned to walk away. “Sera was right about you.” He said as he started away. “Oh yeah what’s that?” She chimed. “Best to pay you no mind. It’s a waste of my brain power.” He chuckled and skipped merrily back to his mother. I’m going to kill that Sera. No Katrina. You're going to destroy her.
