Erased from memory
In this world where souls intertwine with their destinies, it is said that luminous beings and mysterious creatures watch humans from afar. Legend claims that the “Luminarians,” who fell from the sky, were punished with magical chains—each chain emitting a unique light. Among these chains, one is considered the most powerful; its bearer is destined to remain in eternal life, punished for their actions, trapped in a cycle of regret and pain. Year 1780 Inside a cave teeming with evildoers and demons, a delegation of luminous beings gathered in complete silence, determined to confront darkness. The sky was painted with sunset hues, and the last ray of sunlight descended through the clouds, as if guiding them toward their fate. The luminous beings decided to wage a fierce war to free humanity from the control of evil forces that had settled within human hearts. The spirits of demons manifested in the cave’s shadows, laughing and mocking the determination of the luminous beings. With every step, the sounds of battle echoed in the distance, driven by the resolve to restore light and bring hope back to humanity, which had suffered for so long. But everything turned upside down when the leader of the Luminarians, Novar, became consumed by rage and lost control. The battle grew more brutal, and the demons became increasingly savage, leading him to believe that the only solution was to eliminate the humans possessed by them. With every strike, and with every shattered light, Novar began to sink into his own darkness. His feelings of anger and revenge pushed him beyond his limits; he began threatening death and destruction instead of acting as a protector and liberator. The other Luminarians condemned this horrifying transformation, yet they found themselves trapped in an internal conflict between their divine duty and their desire to save their leader from the abyss. Present Day, 2026 In a quiet scene harmonizing with the beauty of autumn nature, a girl sits on an old wooden bench in the middle of a vast garden, surrounded by trees dressed in golden and copper tones. She calmly watches the leaves fall slowly from the high branches. The scene adds a warm touch that fills her with nostalgia. This was the first time she dared to turn toward her past for so long, unaware that it would consume her relentlessly, beyond the resistance of her heart and memories. She moved her feet and headed home, realizing she was late—and her grandmother would not forgive her for that. She had always been told to return home early after school, but as usual, she either went to the garden or the beach to spend some time alone. She entered the house only to find her grandmother waiting with a broomstick, prompting her to flee in fear for her life. “Come here, you troublemaker!” the grandmother shouted loudly, shaking the broom in the air. But Thalia did not turn back; she ran as fast as she could, her laughter filling the air as if trying to escape the voice chasing her. “You won’t escape me this time!” “I’m sorry, Grandma! I swear this is the last time!” she replied. Her grandmother responded angrily: “You said the same thing last time! I won’t be fooled again!” Their shouting and laughter echoed throughout the house until the chase ended with the grandmother finally grabbing her granddaughter by the ear. “Didn’t I warn you not to stay out too long?” the grandmother said, scolding her, while Thalia struggled to hide her laughter. “I was just having fun, Grandma!” “Fun?” the grandmother narrowed her eyes. “We’ll see how much fun you have after I cut off your internet!” Thalia faked a sad tone and said rebelliously: “How can you say that? You know my favorite band’s live broadcast is about to start…” “What band, you foolish girl? Go study! You are in an important year of your life. Will that band save you then?” After that, Thalia gave up trying to convince her grandmother and returned to her room slowly. She sat at her desk, realizing that playtime was over. She opened her books and notebooks, trying to focus on her studies. But as she began reading the first line, her mind drifted away, imagining all the adventures waiting beyond those pages. Still, she knew from experience that there was no escape from studying, and this time she decided to concentrate seriously. Meanwhile Novar was walking at night, observing the quiet streets under the faint moonlight. The night air was cold and refreshing, carrying a silence that enveloped the sleeping city. His steps were slow, as if he were searching for something unknown—or perhaps escaping his overwhelming thoughts. He stopped beside an old tree and looked up at the star-filled sky, breathing deeply. “What am I really searching for?” he wondered in a low voice. He felt immense loneliness despite the beauty around him, as if a weight rested on his chest that he could not explain. All he knew was that his eternal life was nearing its end, and his fate would be decided by someone else—a feeling that followed him like an inseparable shadow. He did not know who that “someone” would be or how it would happen, but he was certain that the end was approaching slowly—and it was unavoidable. After a while of thinking, he decided to return to his home, a palace-like mansion where he lived alone with his nephew, who constantly boasted about his wealth and, as usual, tried to persuade him not to take his bank card. Morning Novar wandered through the library, overwhelmed by boredom among the endless pages. He was searching for a book that might offer some hope, but suddenly he collided with something small. Regaining his senses, he saw a girl holding a stack of books. Time seemed to freeze. “I’m sorry,” Thalia said nervously as the books fell from her hands. “I didn’t see you; these books were blocking my view.” Novar replied softly, trying to regain his composure: “It’s alright. It seems I was lost in my thoughts as well.” “Oh, alright then. Goodbye,” she said with a light smile before walking away. He kept watching her until she disappeared. The school bell rang, and students headed home. The weather was unpleasant, so Thalia decided to postpone her plans of sitting by the beach and went home early—unlike her usual habit. On her way home, she felt something unfamiliar: footsteps following her. The sounds were faint but distinct in the silence of the street. She looked around but saw no one, yet a growing sense of anxiety crept into her heart. She increased her pace, but she could not ignore the sound. Something strange was happening. As she approached her home, her heart tightened. Should she turn around and face whatever was following her, or rush inside to safety? After hesitation, she slowly turned—and found herself facing mysterious shadows moving in the distance, their presence unsettling. Suddenly, faint laughter emerged from between the trees, making her heart race. “What do you want?” she whispered, but received no answer. Gathering her courage, she ran toward the front door, quickly unlocking it. Before entering, she turned back—only to find nothing. The shadows had vanished, as if they had never existed. Only one figure remained: the strange man she had met in the library. “Was that you? You scared me…” she said loudly. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” he replied. “What do you want? Why are you following me?” “I wasn’t following you. This is just the road to my home. I’m sorry again.” He left, and she muttered under her breath: “Damn you, you jerk…” She entered the house and locked the door behind her, trying to calm her breathing. Nothing seemed reassuring—but she could not deny that what she experienced was real.
