Chapter 114: Clash of Moon and Blood

821 Words
The temple exploded with power. Silver light from Aria, golden Lycan energy from Kael, and the dark crimson aura of the Blood King collided violently in the center of the chamber. The force of their powers cracked the ancient stone floor. Pillars trembled. Dust fell from the ceiling. Kael attacked first. With a powerful roar, he lunged forward in his partial Lycan form, claws glowing like molten gold. His strike moved fast enough to slice through the air. But the Blood King blocked it easily. Crimson energy formed around his arm like armor. The clash sent a shockwave across the temple floor. Kael was pushed back several steps. Darius whistled low. “Okay… he’s definitely stronger than the average villain.” The Blood King smiled calmly. “You fight well, Lycan King.” Then he moved. Faster than anyone expected. In the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of Kael and struck him with a powerful crimson blast. Kael slammed into one of the temple pillars. The stone cracked from the impact. “Kael!” Aria shouted. Roran charged immediately. His sword flashed through the air with deadly precision. But the Blood King simply stepped aside. Roran’s blade struck nothing but air. The Blood King grabbed him by the armor and threw him across the chamber. Roran crashed hard against the floor but quickly struggled to stand again. Darius jumped into the fight next. Dark energy burst from his hands as he launched a powerful attack. The blast struck the Blood King directly. Smoke filled the air. For a moment, it looked like the attack had worked. Then the smoke cleared. The Blood King stood there completely unharmed. He brushed imaginary dust from his shoulder. “Cute.” Darius groaned. “I was afraid you’d say that.” Meanwhile, Aria’s silver aura grew brighter. She could feel the temple responding to her emotions. The Moon’s power was flowing through her stronger than ever before. The Blood King finally turned his attention fully toward her. “Your turn, Moon’s Daughter.” Aria stepped forward. “I’m not afraid of you.” He smiled. “You should be.” Suddenly he raised both hands. The temple floor cracked open again. Dark crimson energy surged upward like flames. From the shadows, new creatures began forming. These monsters were even larger than the ones before. Their bodies were covered with dark armor-like scales, and their glowing red eyes burned with rage. Roran stared in disbelief. “More?!” At least thirty creatures now filled the chamber. The Blood King laughed. “You see the difference between us now?” He pointed toward Aria. “You protect.” Then he pointed toward himself. “I conquer.” The monsters roared and charged toward the group. Kael stood up again, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. His golden aura flared brighter than before. “Aria.” She looked at him. “Trust your power.” She nodded slowly. The silver mark on her arm burst into brilliant light. The temple responded instantly. Ancient moon symbols across the walls and floor began glowing. The entire chamber filled with silver energy. The monsters slowed as the moonlight touched them. Their movements became weaker. Aria raised both hands. Moonlight gathered around her like a storm of glowing stars. “I won’t let you destroy this temple.” Her voice echoed across the chamber. “Or this world.” The silver light exploded outward. Dozens of glowing beams shot across the temple. The monstrous creatures were struck by the moonlight and began dissolving into dust. One by one. The chamber grew brighter and brighter. Even the Blood King stepped back slightly. His crimson eyes narrowed with interest. “So the Moon has finally awakened within you.” Aria’s power continued growing. But the more energy she used— The more the temple trembled. Cracks spread across the walls. Darius looked around nervously. “Uh… Aria?” She glanced toward him. “If this power keeps increasing…” He pointed upward. “…the whole temple might collapse.” The Blood King laughed loudly. “Exactly.” His crimson aura surged again. “That is the final test.” Aria frowned. “What do you mean?” The Blood King spread his arms. “The Moon gives you limitless power.” His voice echoed through the chamber. “But if you lose control…” He grinned darkly. “You destroy everything you’re trying to protect.” The temple shook harder. Massive cracks appeared in the ceiling. Rocks began falling to the ground. Kael looked at Aria urgently. “You have to control it!” The silver energy around her was becoming overwhelming. The temple was seconds away from collapsing. And the Blood King was watching with a satisfied smile. “Show me, Moon’s Daughter,” he whispered. “Can you control the power… or will it destroy us all?
