The massive stone doors of the Temple of the First Moon slowly opened with a deep grinding sound.
Dust and cold air poured out from the dark entrance.
The inside of the temple looked ancient—older than any structure the group had ever seen.
Massive pillars lined the long hallway beyond the gate, each carved with glowing crescent moon symbols.
Yet something felt wrong.
The once-silver carvings had darkened.
Black cracks spread across the temple walls like veins of corruption.
Aria felt a cold chill run through her body.
“This place… it feels different than what I saw in my vision.”
Kael stepped forward carefully, his golden eyes scanning the darkness inside.
“Stay close.”
Roran tightened his grip on his sword.
“After you, Your Majesty.”
Darius stretched lazily.
“Well, if there’s a Blood King waiting inside, I hope he at least prepared some tea.”
Kael ignored him and stepped into the temple.
The others followed.
The moment they crossed the entrance, the massive stone doors behind them slammed shut with a thunderous boom.
Everyone turned sharply.
Roran cursed under his breath.
“I hate temples.”
The only light inside the hallway came from faint blue flames burning in ancient wall torches.
Their cold glow barely illuminated the massive chamber.
The air smelled old.
Ancient.
Like the temple had been asleep for centuries.
Aria slowly walked forward.
The silver mark on her arm glowed brighter with every step.
Something inside the temple was reacting to her presence.
Then suddenly—
A whisper echoed through the chamber.
“Moon’s Daughter…”
Aria froze.
“Did you hear that?”
Kael nodded slowly.
“I did.”
Darius frowned.
“Yep… definitely haunted.”
Another whisper echoed.
“Come… closer…”
The voice sounded distant, almost like it came from deep beneath the temple.
Roran scanned the shadows between the pillars.
“I don’t like this.”
As the group continued walking deeper into the temple, the hallway opened into a massive central chamber.
Everyone stopped in awe.
The chamber was enormous.
Its ceiling stretched so high that it disappeared into darkness.
At the center stood a large circular platform made of silver stone.
Ancient runes covered the floor, glowing faintly under the dim torchlight.
But the most shocking sight was what stood on the platform.
A throne.
A massive throne carved from black crystal.
And someone was sitting on it.
A tall figure cloaked in dark armor.
His head rested casually on one hand as if he had been waiting for them.
Slowly… he lifted his head.
Two glowing crimson eyes stared directly at Aria.
The temperature in the chamber dropped instantly.
Darius muttered under his breath.
“Well… that’s definitely the Blood King.”
Kael stepped forward immediately.
His golden aura ignited around him like fire.
“Stand up.”
The figure slowly rose from the throne.
His armor looked ancient and covered in dark crimson markings.
A long black cape flowed behind him.
When he spoke, his voice echoed through the entire chamber.
“So…”
His eyes remained fixed on Aria.
“The Moon’s Daughter has finally arrived.”
Aria felt a strange mixture of fear and curiosity.
“You’ve been waiting for me?”
The Blood King smiled slightly.
“For centuries.”
Kael stepped in front of her protectively.
“You will not touch her.”
The Blood King laughed softly.
“You misunderstand, Lycan King.”
He slowly descended the steps of the throne.
“I have no intention of harming her.”
His crimson eyes gleamed dangerously.
“She belongs to me.”
The air suddenly became heavy with power.
Kael’s claws extended instantly.
“I dare you to say that again.”
The Blood King’s smile widened.
“The Moon’s Daughter was always meant to rule beside the Blood King.”
His voice dropped to a whisper.
“And tonight… she will remember that.”
Suddenly the entire temple shook.
Dark energy burst from the floor.
The ancient runes began glowing violently.
Aria gasped as her silver mark erupted with light.
The trial had begun.
And the Blood King had no intention of letting them leave.
