The wind howled across the ruined battlefield.
Broken earth and shattered stone surrounded the three figures standing at the center of the valley.
Kael.
Aria.
Darius.
And towering above them all was the Devourer.
Dravoryx’s enormous wings slowly stretched wider, casting a dark shadow across the battlefield.
His glowing red eyes burned with rage.
“You dare challenge me,” the monster growled.
Darius folded his arms casually.
“You talk too much for someone who’s losing.”
The Devourer roared.
The sound shook the mountains around them.
Then he moved.
His massive claw shot forward with terrifying speed.
Kael reacted instantly.
“Move!”
He shoved Aria backward and shifted into his enormous black wolf form.
The claw slammed into the ground where they had been standing.
CRASH!
The earth exploded, sending rocks flying everywhere.
Darius leaped into the air, avoiding the attack with effortless grace.
“Careful,” he said lightly.
“He’s getting angry.”
Kael growled.
“This is not a game.”
Dravoryx swung his massive tail across the battlefield.
The attack tore through several large stones and nearly struck the Lycan warriors behind them.
Aria raised her glowing hands.
“Shield!”
A dome of silver light formed instantly.
The tail slammed into it with brutal force.
The shield cracked, but it held.
Aria stumbled from the impact.
Her power was draining quickly.
Kael’s voice echoed through her mind.
We have to end this quickly.
Darius landed beside them, brushing dust off his coat.
“Well,” he said calmly.
“This creature is stronger than I expected.”
Kael’s golden eyes burned with anger.
“You helped bring it here.”
Darius shrugged.
“And now I’m helping destroy it.”
Dravoryx’s voice thundered across the battlefield.
“You believe you three can defeat me?”
The monster spread his wings fully.
Dark energy surged around his body.
The air grew colder.
The sky itself seemed to darken.
Aria felt the power immediately.
“It’s gathering energy again!”
Kael stepped forward.
“We don’t let him finish.”
Darius smiled slightly.
“Now that is something we agree on.”
For the first time since the battle began, the two brothers stood side by side.
Enemies.
Yet fighting the same monster.
Kael launched forward first.
His massive wolf form leaped through the air, claws aimed at Dravoryx’s throat.
At the same time—
Darius raised both hands.
Dark magic erupted around him like a storm.
Chains of shadow shot toward the Devourer’s wings.
They wrapped around the creature tightly.
Dravoryx roared in fury.
“You dare bind me!”
Aria raised her glowing hands once more.
Silver moonlight gathered above her like a falling star.
“This ends now!”
She fired the attack.
A massive pillar of moonlight crashed down from the sky.
BOOOOOOM!
The blast struck Dravoryx directly.
Light and darkness collided in a violent explosion.
The shockwave knocked warriors and monsters alike off their feet.
Dust and glowing energy filled the valley.
For several seconds…
No one could see anything.
Then the smoke slowly cleared.
Dravoryx was still standing.
But this time—
His scales were cracked.
Dark smoke leaked from the wounds across his body.
The Devourer’s glowing red eyes burned with pure fury.
“You… have angered me.”
Slowly, something terrifying began to happen.
The cracks across his body spread.
Dark energy burst from inside his scales.
His wings expanded even larger.
Aria felt a chill run down her spine.
“What is happening to him?”
Darius’s expression finally turned serious.
“He’s transforming.”
Kael stepped forward protectively in front of Aria.
And then Dravoryx spoke again.
But this time…
His voice sounded far more monstrous.
“You have forced me to reveal my true power.”
The sky above the battlefield darkened completely.
Because the Devourer was about to show them his true form.
