Charlie sank down on her sofa and waited for everyone to be seated. Ava an Ashton were already playing in Ashton's room. She could hear them laughing. Where is Xavier? Hayden asked as she sat down next to Charlie. Charlie looked over at Hayden with a lazy look. He is in the barn with Attica. They are trying to get some information out of Kensley, again. Charlie stated with a boring tone. Hayden knew that Charlie was preparing herself for what she was about to hear. She knew her friend all too well. Charlie didn't want to hear what was coming but she knew that she had too. Hayden studied Charlie for a moment. Charlie, It's going to be okay. What we are about to tell you isn't bad. It does interfere with our daily lives but this can't be avoided. I tried. If we all want to keep this... Hayden threw her hands up referring to their happy lives, then we must do what we have too. Hayden explained. I would really like it if you could get Attica and Xavier here. I think they need to hear this as well. Devlin said as he closed the door behind him. Charlie stood an took her phone from her pocket and flopped back down on the couch. She put the phone to her ear. It sounded as if Xavier answered on the first ring. He could hear that someone was screaming in the background. Devlin knew that they were trying to get information out of Kensley, so she was probably being tortured. He thought as Charlie told Xavier to get home an to bring Attica. She laid her phone on the coffee table when she hung up. So, how bad is it? Charlie asked while looking around at each of them. Her eyes landed back to Hayden. How bad is what? Hayden asked clearly confused. How bad is this whole situation? Are they gonna attack our home again? Are they tracking Ava? Or are we gonna attack them before they make the first move? Charlie asked while examining her finger nails. Hayden looked at Devlin an then back to Charlie. She was getting ready to say something when Xavier an Attica walked in. Devlin gave Attica and Xavier a hug soon as they came into the door. Good to see that you are okay brother. Xavier said as he clapped Devlin on the back. All of you. Xavier said as he released Devlin from the hug to turn to the rest of them. His happy expression fell short when his eyes landed on their company. Charlie hadn't told him on the phone. He looked over to where Charlie sat on the couch next to Hayden. She shrugged her shoulders when he looked at her with question in his eyes. Well hello, I wasn't aware that we had extra company. I am Xavier. This here is Attica. I am assuming that you two are Hayden's parents. Xavier said as he looked at Michelle and David sitting on the loveseat. Yes, that is my mother Michelle, that is my father, David. Hayden spoke up. It is very nice to meet you both. Xavier stepped closer to them and extended his hand to each of them. This is our very good friend, Ev.... Theia. Michelle corrected  herself. EvTheia? Xavier asked as he extended his hand to her. My name is Theia. Michelle an David use to call me Eve. Sorry for the confusion. Theia stated as she introduced herself. Well Theia its a pleasure to meet you. Xavier said with a smile. Pleasure is all mine. Theia replied. So. what is the meeting for? I am assuming it is of importance if you called me away from something of equal importance. Xavier said with a smile. He stood in the middle of the living room with his arms crossed. Hayden cleared her throat an stood. It is very important. Theia here is the last Prophecy child an she is going to train Ava to use her powers. The Devil's Flag needs to be taken down or they will hunt her until she is sixteen. Hayden explained. Xavier looked back at Theia. You are the last Prophecy Child. How did you make it this far without them finding you? Xavier asked. Before she could reply Devlin spoke up. She isn't just any Prophecy Child she is Theia, Goddess of Heavenly Light. Devlin stated. Xavier looked confused. That cant be? That woman would be over one hundred years old by now? Xavier stated with question in his eyes. I am one hundred an twenty five years old. Theia stated with a smile on her face. Xavier was shocked. The woman standing in front of him didn't look over 25 years old. He looked to Devlin an back to Theia. Theia shrugged her shoulders. I didn't age after 25. Theia stated. Xavier nodded. Okay then.... So what is the plan? What are we all doing here? He asked. Devlin cleared his throat an moved in the center of the room to stand next to Xavier. We need to go to the Island so that Theia can train Ava...... without interruption. Devlin said as he placed his hand on Xavier's shoulder. Wait? Can't you an Hayden go with them? We can stay here to make sure that everyone here is safe. What if they attack while we are all on the Island? Xavier asked as his voice raised a few octaves. Everyone got silent. Xavier looked to each of them. One by one he looked around the room waiting on an answer. WELL?! Someone! Anyone!? Xavier bellowed. Charlie sighed an stood up from her spot on the couch an walked over to him. Babe..... Everyone here will be fine as long as Ava is on the Island. They won't track her here if she isn't here. I promise... everyone will be fine. It will only be for a few weeks, maybe a month, max. Charlie explained as she looked into his eyes. He looked like he was about to shift. She could tell that his nerves were on edge. She tried with all her will to calm him down. Baby, we can treat it as a little vacay. Ashton has never been to the Island. Come on it will be fun. Charlie said as she ran her hands up an down his tone arms.  Xavier stared into her eyes, knowing that she could feel his anxiety about this whole situation. Xavier grabbed her by the wrists softly, stopping her rubbing motion. He gave her a sad smile and closed his thoughts to her. I need a few minutes to think. I need to think about all of this. I just really need a minute..... Alone. Xavier said blankly an turned and walked out of the front door. Charlie stood there staring at the door. That was the first time he had ever walked out on her like that. She felt a little tug at her heart. For the first time in their lives together she felt... empty. They always shared their emotions and thoughts. He had never closed his mind to her. He had never made her feel that way. She looked away from the door an looked down at the floor before turning around and walking to her room. She shut the door an sat on their bed looking off at the wall. She had no clue what Xavier was thinking. For the first time he had closed his mind to her. She didn't know what to think about that since they had always been so open to each other. She closed her eyes. She tried to reach out to him. Nothing. She opened her eyes after trying multiple times to contact him. A single tear rolled down her cheek an landed on her hand. She looked down where it hit.. The tear rolled off the side of her hand an absorbed into the comforter on their bed. She stared at it for a long moment, the little wet spot on their bed. That one little shed of emotion that meant so much to her. She didn't shed tears often for anyone, but, Xavier, he was a part of her an now she couldn't even feel him anymore. The first time in six an a half years. When she looked back up again she could feel her wolf rise to the surface. She knew there would be no stopping this shift. She was to emotional. So, for the first time since she was claimed and turned, she lost control. 

Hayden sat on the couch looking down the hallway where Charlie had ran down. She could feel the emotional rollercoaster that her best friend was on. She felt bad for Charlie. She could sense the moment that Xavier had shut her out, his own mate. They were never really apart since they had been bonded. It felt devastating to Charlie. To shut out a mate is a sign of distrust an betrayal. Hayden couldn't believe Xavier had done that to Charlie, she couldn't understand for the life of her why Xavier would feel that from Charlie. Charlie had always been loyal to Xavier an he was letting his emotions get the better of him. Charlie would never intentionally do anything to cause distrust or betray him in any way. Hayden thought to herself. She gave Devlin an sad look. He walked over to the couch an sat down beside her. I know, I felt it too Honey. I don't know what is going on with Xavier. He knows that Charlie loves him. He knows that she wouldn't betray him or do anything to lose his trust. I just think the whole thing with Kensley is hitting home for him. He is having some trust issues. Hunter is his kin an he felt betrayed, so I think he is taking it out on her. Devlin explained as he pulled Hayden against his chest. It doesn't make sense to me. Hayden said into his chest. Why? Why would he shut her out like that, out of all the people here, he shuts his mate out? Hayden said as she sat up an looked into Devlin's eyes. I don't know Sweetie. I wish I knew, I am just guessing here. I can feel that Charlie is hurting right now, I know you can as well. I bet Xavier is out there right now regretting his actions. He knows the impact it will have on Charlie. He will be back in a minute to check on her. I guarantee it. Devlin assured her as he ran his hand through her hair. A moment later they heard a big crash coming from Charlie's room. Devlin stood quickly. Get the kids out now. Everyone! Get outside. I think Charlie has lost control! Devlin yelled as Hayden ran towards Ashton's room and grabbed the kids. She came running out of the boys room with a kid under each arm. Mommy! What's wrong! What's happening? Ava screamed as Hayden quickly took them out the front door. She stood them both in front of Attica an her parents as Theia looked at her with question in her eyes. Keep them here! Make them stay out here. We need to get Charlie under control. Where did Amony go? Hayden asked with worry in her voice. She went home real quick while you an Devlin were talking. She said she would be right back. Attica told her as she placed her hands on each of the kids shoulders. She could hear breaking glass an Devlin yelling for Charlie to calm down from inside of the house. Hayden looked back at Attica. Get her here, an FIND XAVIER. Tell him to get here as quick as possible! Hayden yelled as she turned an ran back into the house. When she got to the living room she could see Devlin standing very still with his hands in front of him in a calming motion. Charlie. It's me. Devlin. Hayden is right here. Hayden walked over an stood beside of Devlin. When she looked down the hallway she was shocked to see the state that Charlie was in. She stood on all fours, a massive wolf, glowing teal eyes an her fur standing on end. She had completely lost herself in the madness that Xavier had caused by putting up his emotional wall. Charlie. Please Charr. It's Me. Hay Hay. We are best friends. You are my sister. Please. You know you don't want to hurt us. Hayden said softly as she started to inch closer to the massive beast. She knew that her best friend, her sister was under all of that somewhere. She just had to reach her. Hayden knelt down. I love you Charr. Xavier loves you. He is just having some trust issues right now. Because of Kensley. It's her fault. This will all blow over. I promise. You just need to shift back so we can talk about this. Charlie. Please. Hayden whispered softly as she inched closer an closer. Devlin walked a few steps an put his hand on her back. Hayden stop. We aren't getting through to her yet. Do not get closer. She will attack you. She isn't herself right now. Devlin said nervously eyeing Charlie cautiously. Hayden turned her head to look at him an Devlin met her eyes for a single moment. Hayden heard Charlie's rumbling growl. Before she or Devlin could react, Charlie pounced. Hayden turned just as Charlie's massive beast slammed against her rib cage. Hayden tried to grab Charlie around the waist behind her front paws but she was to late. Charlie bit down on her side. Blood pooled onto the floor as Hayden screamed out in pain. Devlin rolled over Charlie's back wrapping his arms around her rib cage and grabbing her off of Hayden in one shift motion. Charlie growled an snapped her vicious teeth covered in Hayden's blood at him as he tried to keep her from biting him. Get something to restrain her with! Devlin yelled as he continued to hold her from behind. All Charlie's wolf could do was snap an growl. Hayden glanced at her friend as her husband held her down. Her eyes looked crazed. She was growling so loud the walls shook with the power behind it.  Hayden ran to the garage and frantically looked around for something to restrain her with as she held her side. Blood still poured from the wound. She opened  the tool box an there laying on top were chains. She grabbed them an the pad lock dangling off the front of the tool box an ran back through the kitchen an into the living room. Devlin still laid there with his arms locked around her. Charlie had managed to wiggle down some in her rage. She still couldn't get an angle to bite him. She growled louder as Hayden entered the room with the chains. We need to get them around her to immobilize her. They need to keep her here until we can get Xavier here. Hayden looked at the position they were in. Devlin's arms were wrapped around her massive chest an her back was against his stomach. Her hind legs were in the air an her front paws were free swinging out at her as she got closer with the chains. Hayden knew that soon as she tried to put the chains around her that she would get swatted with those giant claws. It had to be done though. Devlin is strong but he can't hold her for much longer. Hayden inched closer as she let the end of the chain hit the floor and she grabbed the other end. She threw the chain over Charlie an Charlie swatted at her arm, gashing her forearm open. Her blood spilled on the floor for the second time that day. She walked around to the back of Devlin an Charlie an picked the end of the chain up that she had threw over them. She knelt down an jammed her arm in between their bodies to get the chain out the other side. When she heard it hit the floor on the other side she stood an walked around to the front of them. Hurry Babe! I'm starting to lose my grip on her. She is very strong. Devlin panted. I'm trying babe. I swear. My blood is making the chain slippery. Hayden knelt down again at the bottom of Charlie's hind legs. She grabbed the chain quickly an pulled it tight. She only had it wrapped around her back to her hind legs. She started to wrap the chains around her hind legs over an over. Charlie kicked and squirmed. The chain loosened a bit an Hayden pulled it tightly again. She then took a few steps closer to try an get it around her front paws as Devlin struggle to keep her still. His eyes were wide. She could feel his worry for her. She made the first wrap around her right paw an pulled the chain tight. Charlie let out a vicious growl. Hayden stepped back as the other paw swiped at her. She tried again to get the left paw in the chains. Just as she had it halfway around Charlie's left paw, Charlie swiped at her again and gashed her across the stomach. Hayden gasped an dropped the end of the chain. She looked down at her stomach as she pulled her hand away. There was blood everywhere and it hurt like hell but it wasn't going to kill her. Hayden bent an picked up the end of the chain again. She had to put this to and end. She lunged over Charlie an kept wrapping the chains around an around until Charlie couldn't move anymore. Hayden looked at Devlin. You can let go. She isn't going anywhere. Hayden said as she walked over to the kitchen table an pulled out a chair. She sunk down into it holding her stomach. Devlin let go of Charlie an rolled from underneath her. He stood and ran to Hayden. Babe! Are you okay! Devlin said as he knelt in front of her, examining every wound. He breathed a sigh of relief when he realized the wounds weren't life threatening. Yes, it just hurt like hell. I'm just glad she didn't rip our heads off or eat our hearts from our chest. You know....since that's what werewolves are born to do...... kill vampires. Hayden shook her head. I love our family an friends, but, we really have defied the odds. Vampires, Werewolves, witches, shapeshifters, all on the same property. Hayden laughed. Don't forget the Angel. Devlin said as he laughed with her. They both started laughing. The door opened an Amony an Xavier ran in. They looked at the scene in front of them an look at Charlie, chained on the floor. She was squirming an growling very loud. Xavier and Amony looked at the blood all over the living room an kitchen. All the stuff that laid strewn everywhere from the rage Charlie went into. Xavier ran over to Hayden. Are you guys okay? He asked nervously. I didn't mean for this to happen. I just needed a few minutes to myself. I wasn't blocking her out for any reason than that alone. I really just need a minute, Just me an my thoughts. No one but my own thoughts. That was it. I didn't know she would flip out. She should know me by now. She knows that I love her and trust her. Xavier rambled as he ran his hands through his hair as he turned and studied Charlie. She was still in wolf form, growling an squirming. Trying to break free of her restraints. Yes, we are fine, just a few minor scratches. Hayden said. Xavier nodded. I am sorry this happened. He said as he turned an walked over to where Charlie was restrained. He knelt down next to his wife and opened his mind to her. He apologized over an over and reassured her that he loved her an trusted her more than anyone. She stopped squirmed an growling, feeling her mates presence in her mind had soothed her wolf. She started to regain control of herself an immediately shifted back to her human form. Xavier took his shirt off an covered her naked body. Xavier stood an went to the garage. He came back a moment later with a key in his hand. He unlocked the pad lock on the chains, even though she could have just slipped free from them. He started to unwrap the chains from her. After getting them all from around her, he helped her sit up. Charlie looked around at all the devastation in her own home, the blood on the floor an then looked back at Hayden. She was still seated in the kitchen chain holding her stomach. It was already starting to heal but she was still covered in blood. Charlie immediately gasp an covered her mouth in shock. Tears started to stream down her face an Xavier pulled her into a hug. I am so sorry! Charlie cried into his chest. Hayden, Devlin, I am so sorry. She cried. Hayden stood an walked over to her. Charlie sat back up and looked at Hayden when she heard her approaching. Hayden knelt down. Charlie. It's okay. We felt the emotional turmoil you were going through. I know why it happened an we know you had no control. Okay? Hayden said. Charlie nodded as she continued to cry. Hayden reached in an pulled her in for a hug. I should be the one that is sorry. Xavier said. I should have explained why I shut you out. It has nothing to do with you and more to do with me. I just needed a moment to myself. Just me. I didn't mean to hurt you or cause you any pain. You are my mate. I would never intentionally hurt you like this. I just thought you would assume I needed some space to myself when I told you I needed a moment to think. Xavier explained. No, I messed up and over reacted. I could have killed the people I loved. My wolf just kind of took over. I couldn't stop it. I know I have a lot to atone for now. I mean look what I did to you Hayden. I am so sorry an I will spend a long time making up for it. Charlie cried. Charlie. It is okay. This is all one big misunderstanding. We all could have prevented this. Emotions are already running high around here. The whole thing with Kensley, then us leaving for over a week an bringing back strangers. We will get through this. We always do. But, for now, what do you all say to going home an getting some rest. We can regroup in the morning. We can all have a little bit of time to think about what move we will make and who will be going to the Island. Okay? Devlin said as he walked over beside them an offered his hand to Hayden to help her stand. Charlie nodded an wiped at the tears. Sounds like a plan. Amony said as she walked to the couch an sat down. Yeah, we will talk about it together Okay? Xavier told Charlie. Okay. I could use some sleep. Is Ashton and Ava okay? Charlie asked as she looked around the room. Yeah Hayden took them outside with the others as soon as I sensed that you had lost control. Devlin said. I'll go get them. He said as he walked to the door an slipped out. Thank You. Charlie whispered as she covered her face an started to cry again. Hayden gave Xavier a sad smile. Charlie. It's okay. We didn't take any of this personally. Get some rest an we will see you tomorrow morning. Hayden said as she leaned down an hugged Charlie. Okay. Charlie cried. I really am sorry. Charlie added as Hayden stood an walked to the front door. As I've said. It really is okay. Hayden smiled at Charlie. Charlie gave her a small smile back. See you in the morning Hay Hay. Okay. Char. Hayden replied an stepped outside.
