“Is that it?”
Drey nodded once. “I'm saying the truth.”
Ann shrugged briefly. She believed Drey instantly. He was a mere soldier and he was poor. There was no way he would have been able to afford anything, but there was a strong chance that he really knew someone and borrowed the car.
“Good job, Drey!” Ann said suddenly and laughed out loud. “This is like the best moment of my life!”
Kevin smiled.
“I can't believe they just saluted us. Father must have seen that. This is so satisfying!” She started to chatter like a fourteen-year-old girl.
“We just get to the seat. The program will start soon anyways,” Betty suggested.
