“It doesn't matter, Mr Ian,” Ann said quickly.
She had no idea what was happening and why Ian was suddenly changing his mind. Isn't he there to seal their relationship?
“Everything had been perfected. All that is left is a date so we can finalize the whole thing. Betty has already divorced Drey. So, there was no need to talk back,” Ann explained.
Ian made a nervous laugh. “Well, I have my reason,” he muttered and turned to Betty again. “Why don't you answer me and let us know where we are going on this matter.”
Betty didn't look at Ann as she thought of what to say.
“Actually, I love Drey but_”
“There's no more buts,” Ian said quickly. “You two will not be getting a divorce!”
“What! Mr. Ian, is something wrong? Are you upset with us? Have we done something to upset you?”
