“I have that much?” Drey was shocked.
Charles smiled softly.
“Yes, you have acquired so much. You just were not bothered about it. All those payments you got from the rich people, or should we talk about the gold mines you found and the 30% of it that was given to you to protect it? You are very wealthy, and maybe you would have been more than this if you weren't so carefree when money is concerned.”
Drey raised a sceptical brow. “Carefree?”
“Yes!” Charles confirmed. “There were times the people you did favours for would want to repay you, but you would refuse to accept their gifts. There was one wealthy man whose son was kidn*pped. You saved him, and he promised to give you some gold worth several million, but you said you didn't want it.”
Drey remembered the incident immediately.
