Chapter 7 “I’m running short on underwear,” Zoe said in the morning as they packed their things. “How terrible,” Lorna said with a grin. Zoe threw a sock at her. “Less of the smart-alecky sass, please. It was already nearly laundry day when I had to pack my stuff and run.” “There’s a laundry room here.” Lorna glanced at her watch. They’d come back from breakfast, and it was nearly nine A.M. “Why don’t we go do all our laundry, then get lunch, and start for Denver after that. It’s about a four-hour drive. We’ll easily make it in the afternoon.” “Perfect.” So they checked out of the room, got some coins from the clerk, and headed into the laundry room. Nobody around but them this time of day. The room was still cool, the machines quiet. “We going to mix our stuff together?” Zoe asked.
