Chapter 9 They left in the morning en route for Kansas City. A barrier had fallen away between them. They both sensed it. They didn’t revisit those revelations they’d made at the spa. Their talk was general and friendly, and they joked and talked about nonsense. But something had changed. They took a couple of days to get to and then past Kansas City. But once beyond it, some tension reappeared. Their next stop would be at the home of Zoe’s parents.
