Hours passed, and the sky changed colours. The wind sped up, and slowed down again.
My breathing was ragged and I was drenched in sweat, but I diligently went on. Raum attacked, and I dodged his every attack.
“Good, Kay, very good,” he said after I successfully avoided a strike that, in hindsight, seemed like it would’ve definitely broken some bones.
“Yeah-“ before I could get a full sentence out, Raum close the distance between us swiftly brough me to the ground with some move I couldn’t have possibly predicted. I hit the ground hard for the millionth time that day. Only this time, I was too exhausted to get back up.
“Amelia will be done any moment now, so we can stop. You can get some rest now.”
Those words sent a wave of relief over me. I was exhausted.
