Chapter 1: She found herself slowly falling off a cliff but before falling, she had the chance to be saved. There was someone standing close to her. It was very clear that she would not have fallen, if he had just lent his hand to her. Tears clouded her eyes, as she looked at him. The guy watched her fall but he didn't seem to care because a huge smile was printed on his lips. "Why did he let her go?" "Why did he not think of saving her?" "Why did he look so happy to see her fall?" These were indeed questions that needed answers. What sort of a dream was that?? It was the night before her wedding day; She woke up trembling in her sleep, with a nervous look on her face. She was so nervous she had sweat dripping down her face. What kind of dream was that?? She was excited, but yet scared at the same time, about what tomorrow would be holding for her and the rest of her life. She was looking forward to her happily ever after life, which would be determined after her marriage the next day but the scenes of the dream she had, kept on pricking her. This was indeed one of the biggest decision she had ever made in her life, and she was both excited and scared of that. She has always dreamed of the fairy tale wedding; finding love at first site, when he sweeps her off of her feet, and she falls head over hills for him. She believed that she had finally gotten that fairytale happily ever after. She was also a bit bothered about her fiancée, because he had refused to come with them to their rented bride and groom villa. Even though he claimed that work was his reason for not being able to stay with them in the lodge, it still felt quite strangely odd to her. He always enjoyed being around, he was never the type to take his work as a something serious but here he was, working his butt off few days to their wedding. There was no need to keep on worrying herself with these unnecessary thoughts. She gently lay back on the bed, shut her eyes with pressure and in no time, she fell deeply asleep. Next day... (Wedding day) A large tent was set up outside the bride’s house on the wedding day. Of course, this was the wedding of popular Chase Damian, so a huge and expensive banquet hall was rented. It was decorated with colorful lanterns, flowers, and other decorative items. Friends and relatives gathered around the bride and helped her get dressed in her wedding gown and jewellery. Her hands and feet were adorned with henna mehndi (colorful and beautiful drawings). Every part of the wedding hall was richly and whitely decorated. Soon the bride arrived. She was wearing her shiny wedding dress. Under the lights of the white chandeliers and dressed in her beautifully sown wedding gown, with a bouquet of flowers in her hands, Evelyn walked down the aisle. Her smile spread so wild, while her eyes blossomed with colors of happiness. A romantic music was being played in the background. She stood at the altar, those charming lips of her lined into a smile, while she waited for Chase Damian, her husband to come in and tie the knot. Little did she know what was waiting in store for her. .... Evelyn's POV NoI stood for nearly an hour, waiting for my husband but for some reason, he did not show up. This was indeed very strange, I walked out of the altar at once to go find him. Well, family and friends tried their best to stop me from leaving but I wasn't having it. When they realized that I wasn't going to listen to them, they decided to follow behind me. Probably they were thinking that I was going to hurt myself or something. I walked into my bridal room, with my flawless white gown sweeping the floor, then I sat gracefully at the edge of the bed. My eyes collided with the side mirror. Indeed, Annie my best friend had done great justice to my face by giving me an elegant make over, which brought out the exquisiteness of my beauty. I twitched my lips in anxiety, while thinking of a way to get through to Chase. "My phone," I mouthed, as soon as I remembered there was such a thing. It was on top of the bed drawer, which wasn't far from me, so I quickly grabbed it and began to scroll through my contacts. Chase Damien, my supposed husband to be wasn't taking my calls. At this point, I became greatly worried. Crossing my fingers, I hoped within myself that nothing bad had happened to him. “I always wanted a marriage more beautiful than anything," I voiced in a low tone, gripping my phone in anger. "But this is what I get. Chase, abruptly missing. He is not even taking any of my calls," she added. "Calm down, everything will be fine. Let's just have more patience. I believe he will be here soon," Annie tried coaxing her. "I don't think so." "Calm down, everything will be alright. Maybe he got caught up in traffic," she suggested again. I calmed down a bit, after hearing her words, hoping that this was really the case. "Still any news yet?" Annie asked me, after we had waited for minutes, continuously trying Chase's line. I nodded in negativity. "What if he got into a road accident?" I asked, giving her a worried look. She looked back at me with less enthusiasm. "What if he dumped you at the altar," she said. I stood up from the bed and walked to the mirror, my body shaking in anxiety. No, there was absolutely no way that Chase could dump me. Even if he wanted to, he loved me so much to humiliate me in this manner, I kept on assuring myself silently.
