**CHAPTER 5** PAST CHILDHOOD FRIENDS!

Wright's POV

I was about to eat when I began to hear whispers all around the room.

Claire entered the dinning and all eyes were on her. She was the reason all the soldiers were whispering.

" This is the new doctor, she is very pretty." Soldiers whispered.

I looked behind to see what was happening and I saw Claire.

" What did you want miss?" A soldier asked Claire.

" I came looking for someone." She responded shyly.

" Who is that?" The soldier asked.

I could feel she was shy so I stood up from the chair then walked to their direction.

" She came for me." I said.

" Okay, high boss." The soldier left.

" Can we go outside? Claire whispered.

I held her hand then walked out of the room.

I took her to the back of the dining room then released her hand.

" What did you want, miss?" I questioned.

I didn't have any idea why she came so I was curious.

" I'm sorry to disturb you." She whispered.

Her face was so gentle that I fell for her gaze. I should not have looked into her eyes but I had no choice. She was so beautiful.

" You can talk." I uttered.

" Okay, how are you now?" She asked.

I was surprised. Is that why she came to the military, just to say that. I didn't know when a smile escaped my lip.

" I'm okay, nothing happened to me." I stated.

She looked at me as though she expected more from me. What is she really playing at?

" Why are you here exactly?" I finally asked.

" I thought you may fall sick again after going out of the hospital. You were my first patient in this hospital so I came to see you." She expressed.

She touched her hair as she spoke. She must have been worried.

" Are you worried?" I asked.

She looked at my eyes immediately.

" Yes, I was really scared you might get sick again." She uttered.

That word she said was really familiar. Beauty always says that to me after I recover from a sickness.

I looked at her eyes again. She was nothing but like beauty. My heart raced immediately. Who is she?

" I'm here now!" I managed to voice out.

My attention was now shifted to who she is. That was the only thing I could think for that moment.

She smiled out of relief. Her smile was all the same as beauty's. What is going on?

" Who are you?" I didn't know when that slipped my mouth.

The words hang in the air. Her body responded to the question.

" I... I...". She held her hands tight.

She must be hiding something from everyone. How did she manage to get the job despite her weaknesses?

" I'm nobody." She finally said.

I looked at her. What is she talking about? She must have passed through something.

Her expression changed immediately when she said those words.

" Why did you apply for a job in the hospital?" I asked.

She looked at me with innocent eyes. My words must have made her speechless somehow.

" I am..." She pursed.

She took a deep breath processing what to say next.

" I came to the military because of someone." She said,

That really left me curious.

" Who?" I asked.

" I came for my.... Childhood friend. Maybe he will be here." She uttered.

Could she really be beauty. Those words kept ringing within me.

" Who is he?" I asked curiously.

" Ryan!" She said firmly.

The name caught into me. That is my name. The name they always called me when I was little.

" Ryan?" I asked with shock.

" Yes." She answered.

I could have told her I'm really Ryan but I didn't know why I stayed silent. I was really shocked that the person I've been looking for is also looking for me.

I couldn't tell her because I needed to know more about her.

" please... I'm sorry I came to the military to find a guy but he meant a lot to me." She expressed.

She must have been thinking she would lose her job.

" Please.... sir. Is Ryan in the military? She asked.

The words hang in the air. How am I going to tell her I am Ryan?

" I shouldn't have.... asked, I'm sorry. I was just curious. " She whispered.

It is better not to say anything than to lie. I may regret it if I say anything.

" You kept looking at me..... I'm really sorry I came to the military for that." She said,

I looked at her for a moment then decided to talk.

" Why did you think you were a nobody? I asked.

" Because I'm alone somehow. I tried my best to find him but I couldn't. He must have forgotten about me." She said emotionally.

She must have waited a long time.

" What did you mean?" I asked.

" I....." She pursed.

I could feel her pain. Her expression changed immediately. I looked at her, she must really miss me.

My eyes met with hers then she became scared. She bent a little then her medicine fell.

She immediately took it from the ground then opened it and took two doses.

I immediately held her to seat. I caused all this to her. What must have made her scared.

" Are you alright?" I asked as she sat.

" I'm.... Fine." She gasped.

I didn't say a word till I saw that she's recovered.

" You must really miss him." I said.

" Yes, I really missed him. That is what I will tell him when I finally look at his gaze. He was everything to me." She whispered as tears flowed down her eyes.

She really missed me. I'm sorry, beauty.

" He said he was going to find me but he didn't. It was all a lie. I thought he also really cared but it was just me overthinking it." She said as she cleaned her eyes.

I also cared about you beauty. It is my fault. I didn't find you sooner.

The air blew then Claire rubbed her hand. I looked at her hand unintentionally then saw a bandaged cut. There was blood on the bander so I knew it must be a big cut.

I immediately held her hand then removed her sleeve.

" What happened to your hand?" I asked in surprise.

She immediately took her hand away from mine and closed it with her sleeve.

" It's nothing to worry about. I'm fine." She stated.

" Who did this to you? You will have a scar." I was worried.

" I won't have a scar. I have many of these but I treated them."

What is that cut? A surgery instrument can never cause that. It must be someone.

" Are you okay?" I asked, my voice full of sympathy.

" I'm fine." She brightened up.

" How did you end up using this drug?" I asked.

" I.... It's a long story. I wouldn't let Ryan know about this if I saw him." She mentioned.

" So you will keep this secret from him?" I asked.

" Yes, I must not let him know my weaknesses because he will end up harmed by the person who harmed me." She gasped.

" Who is the person?" I questioned.

She stayed silent for a while.

" It's nothing. I was just joking." She smirked.

I knew something happened to her. She must have been hurt. I'm sorry for not coming at the right time.

" I'm sorry, doctor." I said.

She looked at me and smiled. A smile that makes one feel relief but this was all different. My heart was heavy for her.

She stood up from the chair to leave.

" Thanks for listening to me. Please don't let anyone know about this. I'm sorry for causing trouble again." She uttered.

" It's okay. I will keep this a secret." I said.

" I've made many mistakes now but can you still forgive me?" She looked into my eyes.

" You didn't do anything wrong. You were trying your best so don't blame yourself for everything." I shared.

" Thank you, high boss." She whispered.

" Her voice gave me hope. I need to stop all her weaknesses since she already found me.

" I will get going." She said,

" Okay." I responded.

She left and went back to the hospital.

" I must find out about the person hurting her. I knew she was in serious pain. I caused her everything.

It seems Wright and Claire are already getting close. Claire already told him her weaknesses and secret.🙂😊
