Prepare for war. We need to take our men back! Wright's POV I sat from Mr Bob, his words hitting like a punch as always." Our men are held by the bandits. We need to find a way to get them out of those hands." The familiar scent of leather and worn boots filled the office, but my focus was on - a pit of rebels and no rules. " How many men?" I asked, voice steady. " Ten, including one of our high citizens." Mr Bob said, his eyes hard. " Captured during a simple run, we need to do something quickly." The clock on the wall ticked loud. " When do we go in?" I asked. Mr Bob sighed as he stood up from the chair then he took the military tab. "Take the tab and find a way to get the locations. We should know the bandits' locations before going in." Mr Bob said roughly. " Okay sir." I said as I collected the tab. Mr Bob finally sat down then gave me a straight face. " You are the one to lead the operation, Wright." Mr Bob said without blinking. I looked at him for a while without saying anything, I could not feel anything because I've always done that. " Why are you not going with us, director? I asked. " I will, I am getting older so I want you to lead." Mr Bob replied. " You can go find out as much evidence as possible so we can take steps." Mr Bob lifted his chin. I stood up from the chair then saluted and went out of the office. I knew I had a lot to do before the next morning break. That night, I was at the front of my room looking at the stars. My friend, Lazzie, appeared behind me. We have been friends for the past seven years and he has been my faithful friend. " Why are you outside here this late?" Lazzie said as he put his arms around my neck. I smiled without giving him an answer. " The stars look beautiful tonight, I hope I will see them next year." Lazzie said softly. "What are you talking about?" I asked, looking at him. He finally let go of my neck then stood beside me. " What are you thinking about, I've been watching you for a long time now, what is the update? Lazzie smiled as he said. " Seriously, I was thinking about Terry." I said looking at the sky. " Terry, why are you thinking about him?" Lazzie said with a voice mixed with surprise and disappointment. I looked at him, I knew I shouldn't have said that but that was really what i was thinking about. " I thought all the pledges we always recite will forever abound in his heart but I didn't know he would end up that way." I said slowly. Lazzie looked at me without saying anything for a while but when I briefly looked at his face in the dark, it looked like he was processing what to say next. " Get your act together." Lazzie whispered. But.... " High boss, I know Terry is your first best friend but you knew he was a betrayal to you and the country." Lazzie raised his voice. "Put your voice down, I won't think about him again." I said with my eyes closed a little. Lazzie patted my back then we forgot about the conversation. " I miss my parents and most especially my girlfriend." Lazzie said. I knew he was going to say something. " Don't worry, we will go home soon." I chuckled. " Don't you get it, I said I missed my girlfriend." Lazzie looked at me. He wanted to get my attention and was trying to pass something to me again. " Won't you find a girlfriend, you will be thirty two years old next year." Lazzie said, looking at me with his left eyes. I knew he was going to say that again. " Lazzie, I will think about it in the next three years. What is in my head now is just our country and the military." I said slowly. " Don't tell me you are still searching for your childhood friend and I don't get all what you just said. We all love our country but you can't marry the country." Lazzie said as he turned to face me fully. I shouldn't have told him anything, he will keep plastering me forever if I don't find a solution. " I will do something about it so let's forget about this." I whispered. " Better than I expected or I will set you up on a date again." Lazzie looked at me firmly. " I will work on it, don't set me up with any girls again. They are all boring and they are always wasting time." I told him immediately. Lazzie smiled and I could sense satisfaction in his smile. " You should go in now". I said briefly. " Okay, since the day is over." Lazzie smiled and said. Lazzie turned and walked back to his room. His room was not far from mine so I could view him from a distance. I went back to my room when I saw that Lizzie was not in sight anymore.
