I decide to just skip out on the rest of my work for the day. Gabe has the afternoon off anyway, and though I’d usually try to work extra and pick up his slack in such a case, I can’t seem to find it in me today. I can’t even stand still or focus on anything but the thoughts racing through my head. Maybe Leslie and I were never going to amount to anything more than friends since Sebastian was never all that thrilled about the idea of her, but now we’ll never know. And what’s worse is I know she’s being forced to mate with a complete stranger to further her father’s schemes.
