Chapter 38
Sullivan pressed the cruiser to its limits down 95 and arrived at his dad's place near Sebago Lake, in about forty minutes. As soon as he stopped in the driveway, they heard a vicious growl. His dad and Rusty were standing just inside the front screen door.
Sullivan jumped out quickly, while Tweed was a tad slower. To his dad, “I think he might be an effective deterrent.” Waiting for Tweed to catch up and his dad to walk out, “I'd like you to meet Detective Tweed from Minneapolis.”
Sticking out his hand, “Cole has told me a little about you. You're a long way from home. Anyway, I'm awfully glad to meet you.” Patting Cole on the back, “This kid of mine needs all the help he can get, so I hope you're here to help stop the madness.”
