LUCENT
I thanked Amka for showing me how to start a fire in the fireplace and she said she would talk to someone about getting the heat turned up in this wing.
It was like the whole state of Alaska was telling me to go away because I was an outsider. She assured me that it was like this all the time. I couldn’t figure out why anyone would want to live here willingly.
This of course was going to be my new home. How the heck was I going to get used to this?
There was a knock on the door and I thought Amka had forgotten something but it was the man from earlier and he was standing in the hallway glaring at me with no shirt on.
“What do you want?” He irritated me and I was trying not to stare at his sculpted chest and abs. A smirk played on his lips as he shoved a bag at me.
“The medical records you requested your highness.” I took the bag away from him and slammed the door in his face.
Suddenly it was much too warm in the room and I needed as much space between the two of us as I could get.
“Thank you now go away and put on a damn shirt next time you bother me.” He was heard laughing and I swear it nearly made me climax.
I was a damn Fae Princess, there was no way I was so thirsty for a man that I would want to jump the first hot guy I see.
Disgusted with myself and him I stalked over to my bed and dumped the contents on the bed. There was a knock on my door and I shot it an annoyed look.
It was not the door’s fault I was hot and bothered.
“Can we talk for a minute?” Why was he still out there?
“Do you have a shirt on?” My ears were burning but I knew if he wanted to talk and he was shirtless I wasn’t going to be able to pay attention to him.
“No, but if I go get a shirt will you talk to me?” Chewing my lip I sighed.
“I suppose, what do you want to talk about.”
“I want to know why you wanted the medical records. Sven is our Alpha King and I deserve to know what is going on.” I guess it was ok, but even I didn’t know what was going on with him.
“I don’t exactly know if it is my place to say anything about what is going on with your king. I am just the interloper in your pack.” I was an outsider and I didn’t want to say anything about their Alpha’s illness.
“Aren’t you the supposed bride of the Alpha’s son?” Rolling my eyes and I knew that title was just that, an empty title.
“Look if you get it from the guy’s mouth himself, I will try and tell you my theory on what I think is happening to your head honcho. However, until then I apologize, I just have theories and I really don’t think it is my place to spread discord.” It was a roundabout way of just saying, ask someone who is in charge.
“That is rather surprising to hear.” Scowling at the door, why does he sound so shocked? What do these wolves think of me?
“What the heck do you wolves think I am? Some vapid princess without a thought in my head and I will just gossip about others?” I clenched my teeth; I saw how the fae courts worked and how one wrong word could end someone.
“Actually, yes,” I growled and opened the door. My face was right in his chest and I looked up at his arrogant face.
“Who the hell do you think you are wolf boy? I don’t know what bug crawled up your butt and what your problem is with me but enough is enough!” I poked him in the chest and it was like poking a concrete wall.
“Wolf boy?” His eyebrows were up in his hairline, he acted as if no one talked back to him.
“Yes, wolf boy! Now I was going to share what theory I had after getting the ok from either the Alpha or his kid. But you know what, now you can go suck a moose’s hairy balls because I am not telling you a damn thing.” I turned on my heel and slammed the door again and locked it behind me.
Shaking out my hand I gave myself a small pat on the back for not staring at his body. I was too livid with him to actually fantasize about him. I needed a laptop or notebooks. I opened the door just as he was getting ready to knock again.
“Also, I need a laptop or notebook, something to take notes on. If you could PLEASE obtain those for me thank you.” He looked shocked and almost cute. Giving herself a mental shake she stared him down.
“Do not come back unless you have those items and for crying out loud wear a damn shirt next time. It is freezing up here and your n*****s are so pert they could cut stone.” I slammed the door in his face again and wondered why I had to mention his n*****s.
I could have just told him to wear a shirt, but no, I had to go above and beyond and stare at his n*****s. I shivered and crawled into bed sticking the bag of files on the floor.
Exhaustion pulled at my eyelids and I finally managed to go to sleep.
