Chapter 17: Iyla Pt 1 POV Ivory Costello Stunned by the news, I had not taken a single rest. Three horrible days had passed from the hallucination and the small shocking talk with King Ezra, and today was the day Iyla would return from the Costello Mansion. Shifting uncomfortably, I scooted myself down the empty sofa, I could not concentrate to the fact of Iyla return after three days. It was already a pain to know that her father did not have the decency to even request for me, I frowned my lips downwards as I sighed in frustration for all my mood swings for no apparent reason. The weather was gloomy with grey clouds covering the sun, which somehow escaped from the edges releasing its rays to the city. The chilly breeze, and the thundering branches as they violently swayed as if attacking each other. My knees hugged against my chest, wearing a long plain cream dress with the arms off shoulders I shifted to the corner of the couch laying my wavy hair against the hand of the sofa as I rested my head. Fluttering my eyes open and shut, I forced my eyes to stay open and look at the door waiting for the arrival of Iyla, the emptiness created boredom and my eyes gave up and slammed shut as my system began to shut up and I was enveloped by darkness and dreamless thoughts. ——- "Sick joke, wake her up. This is a disrespectful way of welcoming her queen. “The screeching voice of a women blasted my ear buds, I stayed out trying to ignore the curses and shouts of her but when I felt a gentle nudge I woke. Sitting up straight I looked around the crowd which circled around me, a lot of them threw disgusted glances at me and others which sent me a sympathetic gaze. "Finally, who do you think you are? “Iyla’s voice screamed at me, I jolted up. Startled, scanning the room before settling on Iyla. Her face was red from anger, her nose flared as if she was fuming. "What do you mean?” I questioned, I stood up towering over Iyla. She snorted at the sight of me, probably thinking how dramatic I was acting all innocent...I really did know Iyla in and out. "I. Am. Your. Queen." She gritted her teeth together dabbing her index finger into my shoulders, I scowled in anger watching her back away slightly, but her anger expression remained. "Queen to be Iyla.” The vicious voice of King Ezra spoke, it sent chills up my spine as I heard his foot clicking towards me. "King Ezra.” She acknowledged him, we all curtsied but I did not once dare to look him in the eye. Heated glare was thrown my way by Iyla, she rushed towards her named husband, she scoffed at the sight of me. "Is this the respect I receive for being the queen?” Iyla paused, she looked at the lady in waiting who also nodded their head agreeing to each and every word of hers. "What is it?” King Ezra spoke not interested, his eyes were focused on me I could almost feel him burning my flesh to turn me into ashes. "I feel deeply insulted, I walked into the castle just arriving to see her sleeping shamelessly and not greet her queen.” Iyla spat disgustedly, rising my gaze to meet here. My lips parted as I then shifted my gaze to King Ezra. "As of being the queen, your ceremony has not yet taken place you have not taken the omerta. As of her she's is my wife, stop creating scenes Queen to be Iyla.” Him defending me had taken me by surprise, it was totally unexpected. Without saying another word, he walked past me not glancing a single gaze my way, I was utterly confused to why he had stood up for me instead of standing alongside of Iyla and support her. "Did you w***e yourself of my husband, seduce him or even have an intimate relationship with him?” She hissed questioning, her index finger dabbing into my chest causing me to stumble back a bit. "What-No... Of course not.” I yelled, my voice cracked giving her the advantage to know how much it hurt me from her fake accusation. "Is it not her job, she’s only brought here for the pleasure of our king she'll be gone soon.” Elizabeth laughed as she spoke, the other lady in waiting joined in. A scowl formed on my lips, my fist clenched around my howl preventing the tears which were threatening to escape. Turning around to run, my eyes landed on Elijah who was standing in the far corner listening to the drama. Sympathetic look and my eyes glanced at his lips which moved with no sound coming...'I'm sorry' My glare hardened and if glare could kill I was sure he would be six feet under the ground, I rushed passed him ignoring his calls for my name. "Running...Again.” The voice of King Ezra froze me, I turned around watching him standing his back facing me and he was near the balcony inside the castle he too was watching the drama which happened from up here. "I apologise you highness, but I am no w***e, no bastard; I am a women which deserves respect.” I hissed, anger was clearly seen in my eyes as I turned away from him to run away when his next word froze me. "What I say is in between my wife and I, Iyla has no right to interfere in our privacy at what I call you. Future Queen to be Iyla will be punished."
