Chapter 16: Threatened
POV Ivory Costello
I was falling...
My life felt as if this was the last moment, my eyes closed awaiting for it to hit me. But it never came...instead I was caught in someone's arms, my knight and shining armour. Fluttering my eyes open, I narrowed them as the light blinded by sight, but the dull brown eyes caught my attention and my breath got stuck in my throat.
He was not a charming man in a shining armour but...hell in an outfit off a ruthless king. A crown made of thorns, and a cloak designed with small daggers.
The excruciating pain of his nails digging into my flesh, his right grip made me shift in his arms uncomfortably. The unbearable death glare sent my way made me understand he was here to lecture another wrath and pierce those painful words which I intended to ignore.
"Let me go!"
Instantly, his grip loosened as he released me dropping me to the Matt on the ground. My Brown hair fell onto my face, a scowl replaced my frown. Combing my hair back with my fingers roughly, ignoring the pain when my fingers tangled around a knot in my hair.
"Is that better?” He questioned sarcastically, I rolled my eyes and stood up only to see him giving me a hard stare.
"Did you just roll your eyes?” He questioned, I creased my eyebrows narrowing my eyes as I stared at him.
"Maybe.” I retorted, he groaned at my mocking comment and charged towards me only from me to step aside. Elijah had taught me well, and I had paid focus as if it was a lesson at college.
"I will let it slide this time, but if you roll your eyes at me again; God forbid me, but I will bed you over the bed in your chamber and Spank you until your bottom is soar and red." His words left me stunned, my mouth was gaped and ajar as I stared at him with my eyes boring into him. Did she hear him right?
Pushing herself up from the ground, she crossed her arms under her breast and cleared her throat.
"You wish, Your Majesty.” I scoffed, his left eyebrows arched in amusement as if he was staring at me as a component that he was to compete against for a dare or challenge.
"I bet you will moan my name while I smack your bottom with my rough hands, which have killed innocent lives.” He smirked as if he has accomplished an achievement, I forced myself to not role my eyes at him comment. My eyes drifted towards the closed door, and at this moment I was cursing Elijah in my head for leaving me in the gym to take a phone call.
And I cursed my fate for trying to back flip and ending up in the arms of a devil.
"King-"I paused at the loud slamming sound of the door, it caught the both of our attention. Snapping our head towards the door where Elijah stood typing on his phone with a scowl plastered on his lips.
"Brother?” Elijah stated but it came out rather like a question, approaching us he eyed the both of us. King Ezra hummed in return; not tearing his eyes away from me.
"Elijah. What took you so long?” I questioned tearing my eyes away from King Ezra, a fake smile plastered on my lips.
"Important call, sorry." He raised his hands in surrender and giving me an upset face.
"Elijah, you missed your coaching to train the guards. I realised you must be helping this weakling, so I came here. "King Ezra spat his words out in distaste, his tone suddenly changed from flirting and seductive tone to an angry, rough tone.
"Sh! t!” Elijah gasped as he looked down at his watch, I frowned realising I had prevented Elijah from doing his task. I had approached him when I saw him walking down the stairs and dragged him into the gym, I wanted to help him and blame myself, but my lips felt sealed.
"They are waiting for you. Go Now! “King Ezra said, Elijah gave me another apologetic look before jogging down the gym towards the door and it was not long before he had disappeared.
"Find another trainer weakling.” King Ezra whispered before he began to walk off, I was once again stunned by him and I hated how he left me so speechless.
Did he just threaten me?
My mind rewind to the incident after he dropped me, he threatened to spank me if I rolled my eyes at him. Who did he think of himself! Sure, he was a king. He held many followers. For god sakes he was a Mafia King, he was known for his deadly deeds. I knew his Hands were a darker shade of red from all the murders he had committed.
And another innocent life was...Jace!
"Life feels like hell, doesn’t it? "Her sisters voice made its way into her ears, turn around fully towards the entrance which not long-ago King Ezra and Elijah had left. I frowned watching a deadly smirk on my sisters lips, she wore her luxurious lust red dress, it came till her knees, thin spaghetti strip sleeves.
"Iyla.” I spoke stunned she had spoken to me, I had cried many times in the night remember how close they are and how drifted apart they had become as they grey up.
"Life feels like hell, doesn’t it? "She repeated but anger laced in her voice, her smirk was long gone and replaced by a glare.
"Yes.” I whispered, my eyes lowered towards the ground.
"That's how I felt...so cold and selfish you are, sister. "She spat out, I shuddered at her thoughts they were brutal as if a hot silver chain was being whipped in her back.
"Miss Ivory.” Snapping my attention, I watched as a maid entered she had a confusing look in her eyes, I looked back towards where Iyla had been standing only to find it empty. My eyes could not have deceived her, I could not have hallucinated Iyla to be standing in front of her brutally yell.
She knew. I had been a murder for my own freedom, agreeing to kill my best friend, a lover.
"Where is Lady Iyla?” I questioned, Iyla had yet to be crowned queen so that led to Queen Kenya to still have the crown and title.
"At her parents’ house, she had left at midnight. Mr Costello has fallen ill!” The last sentence caught my attention, how could no one had told me about my father being ill. Then I remembered my status Illegitimate I was a nobody, and father treated me like a no body.
I had hallucinated Iyla.
I was ignored and not informed about my father being hospitalised.
I was threatened by King Ezra to be...Spank.
What else could go wrong!!
