Kael stood slowly. “It’s heavily protected. Even Vargan would struggle to attack it directly.” Lyra looked toward the rising sun. “It will also give us time to prepare.” Aria rubbed her face. “So let me get this straight.” She pointed toward the forest. “Three Alpha packs want to protect me.” Then she gestured toward the dark trees. “Three Alpha packs want to capture me.” Torren grinned. “Yep.” “And we’re heading to some ancient Moon temple while a werewolf war builds behind us.” Darius nodded calmly. “That is an accurate summary.” Aria stared at them for a long moment. Then she sighed. “Well,” she muttered. “At least my life isn’t boring anymore.” Torren laughed loudly. “Oh, trust me MoonBorn…” He glanced toward the distant forest. “…it’s about to get a lot crazier.” Kael offered Aria his hand. “Come on.” She took it. “Where are we going?” He smiled slightly. “To the mountains.” High above them, the pale moon slowly faded from the morning sky. But its power still lingered. And somewhere deep in the forest… Vargan was already gathering his army.
