Torren pushed himself upright.
“You just created controlled lunar energy constructs on your third attempt.”
Aria blinked.
“That sounds complicated.”
“It is,” Darius said.
Lyra nodded.
“Most MoonBorn took months to reach that level of control.”
Aria glanced down at her glowing hands again.
“It doesn’t feel hard.”
Kael finally spoke.
“That’s because the power belongs to you.”
His voice made her look up.
For a brief moment their eyes locked.
And something strange happened.
A sudden warmth spread through Aria’s chest.
Not the burning surge of magic she was used to.
This was different.
Softer.
But just as powerful.
Kael seemed to feel it too.
He shifted slightly, his brow tightening.
Torren noticed immediately.
“Oh?” he said with a grin.
Lyra glanced between them.
“You felt it.”
Aria frowned.
“Felt what?”
Darius stepped forward slightly, studying them both.
“Interesting.”
Aria looked back and forth between them.
“Would someone explain what’s happening?”
Torren crossed his arms, clearly enjoying this.
“Well… there are two possibilities.”
“Torren,” Lyra warned.
“What?” he said innocently.
“You want honesty, right?”
Aria sighed.
“Just say it.”
Torren pointed between her and Kael.
“You two are either reacting to the MoonBorn’s power… or…”
He paused dramatically.
“…you’re mates.”
