The air turned to ice.
The Gate cracked open wider.
And he stepped through.
10 feet tall. Crown of bones. Eyes like dead stars.
The Witch King.
"So," his voice shook the ground. "This is the Moon-Blessed bloodline."
He looked at me. Then at my twins.
"Perfect vessels."
My twin sister bowed. "Father."
Father?! My stomach dropped. "You're lying."
"No," she smiled. "The Witch you killed was just a servant. He's the real one."
Damian stepped in front of me. "You will not touch my family."
The Witch King laughed. "You? Black Moon Alpha? You are nothing."
He raised one hand.
All our warriors flew back like toys.
Damian caught me before I hit the ground.
Aria started glowing in my arms. Bright silver light.
Draven's shadows grew bigger. Protecting her.
The Witch King tilted his head. "Interesting. The twins are already awakened."
He pointed at Draven. "You. Come to me, boy."
Draven screamed. Black tendrils reached for him.
"No!" I yelled. My hands glowed both silver and black.
I threw a blast at the tendrils. They burned.
The Witch King looked impressed. "Good. You have spirit."
"Stay away from my children!" I roared.
He sighed. "This is boring. Take them."
My twin sister and 4 soldiers charged.
Fight.
Damian shifted. Tore through 2 soldiers in seconds.
I was healing our people with one hand, fighting with the other.
Aria was shooting silver beams from her eyes. She's 1 year old!
Draven was screaming and shadows were knocking people out.
But they were too many.
One soldier grabbed Aria.
Another grabbed Draven.
"Let them go!" I screamed.
My twin sister held a knife to Aria's throat.
"Last chance, sister. Give us the twins... or the girl dies first."
Everything went quiet.
Damian looked at me. "Luna... what do we do?"
I looked at my babies. At the Witch King. At the Gate.
Tears fell down my face.
"Okay," I whispered. "You win."
"No Luna!" Damian grabbed my arm.
I shook my head. "If I don't, they die."
I stepped forward. Pushed the twins toward them.
The moment they touched my sister's hands...
Draven's eyes went completely black.
Aria's eyes went completely silver.
And they both screamed.
The sky split in half.
Black on one side. Silver on the other.
The Witch King frowned. "What is this?"
My twin sister looked down at the babies. Then at me.
"Oh," she whispered. "We made a mistake."
