Chapter 15: The Final War

412 Words
The Witch's castle was made of bone. Kael dropped me in the center. "I'm sorry." "Then help me," I whispered. "I can't." He looked at the door. "She's coming." The Witch appeared. Clapping slowly. "Perfect. The Moon-Blessed and the Traitor Alpha." "I did what you asked," Kael said. "Now let the pack go." The Witch laughed. "Why would I? I need blood to open the Gate." She pointed at me. "Your blood, Luna." Black chains shot out and tied my hands and feet. BOOM. The doors exploded. Damian. With 20 wolves behind him. "Let. Her. Go." The Witch smiled. "Too late." She cut my palm with a dagger. My blood dripped into a stone bowl. The floor cracked. Black smoke came out. "NO!" Kael and Damian yelled at the same time. The Gate was opening. A giant monster hand came through. The Witch's master. "Now we have a problem," I said. My hands were still glowing. Silver AND Black. At the same time. I remembered what the White Wolf said. `Choose wisely.` I chose both. I screamed and ripped the chains. Silver light healed the sky. Black light destroyed the chains. I ran. Straight to the Gate. "Get back!" Damian yelled. I put both hands on the crack. "By the Goddess... CLOSE!" The light was blinding. I felt myself burning. But I didn't stop. The Gate slammed shut. The monster hand screamed and vanished. Silence. I fell. Damian caught me. "Luna! Luna look at me!" "Did... did it work?" I whispered. Kael was on his knees. The Witch was dead. My black blast hit her. "It's over," Kael said. Tears of blood. "It's really over." Then he looked at me. Silver eyes. "I'm so sorry, Luna." And he smiled. One last time. Then he turned to dust. Damian held me tight. "You did it. You saved everyone." One week later... The pack was rebuilding. Elder Mara was banished. I was standing on the cliff with Damian. "Are you okay?" he asked. "No," I said. "I miss him. Even after everything." "I know," Damian kissed my forehead. "Me too." He pulled out a small crown. Made of silver moonstones. "Will you be my Luna? For real this time?" I looked at the moons. At my pack. At him. "Yes," I said. "I will." THE END. --- Epilogue: 1 Year Later --- I was Luna now. The pack was strong. And in my arms... twin babies. One with silver eyes. One with black. Balance.
