The air went still.
Kael stepped out from the trees. His eyes were glowing red.
"Don't you dare touch her," he growled at Damian.
Damian didn't even look at him. His eyes stayed on me.
"Well, Luna? What's your choice?"
My heart was racing. Kael who hurt me. Damian who saved me.
But my mark... my mark was burning for Damian.
"I choose..." I started.
Kael moved. Fast.
He grabbed my arm and yanked me to him. "She chooses me!"
Damian's claws came out instantly. "Let. Her. Go."
"Make me," Kael snarled.
They were about to shift and kill each other.
"STOP!" I screamed.
Both froze.
Tears were falling down my face. "You don't get to fight over me like I'm a prize!"
I pulled away from Kael. Walked to Damian.
Took his hand.
"I choose the Alpha who saw me when I was nothing," I whispered.
"I choose you, Damian."
Kael made a sound like a wounded animal.
Damian pulled me into his arms and lifted my chin.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded.
His lips crashed onto mine. Hot. Possessive. Claiming.
Power exploded through us. Our marks connected and glowed so bright it hurt.
I was his.
He was mine.
Second chance mates.
Behind us, Kael roared and shifted. A huge silver wolf.
He ran into the forest, howling in pain.
Damian broke the kiss and rested his forehead on mine.
"Welcome home, Luna," he murmured.
"To the pack that will worship you."
For the first time in 18 years... I was wanted.
I was claimed.
I was home.
