8 Barney’s Christmas Kitchen A few light clouds had come in to obscure the stars and a gentle, soothing snow was falling. Comfort Cottage was at the end of a row of similar cottages, each set in their own grounds, but beyond it the road headed off into the trees, winding uphill. Ellie had said that there were no roads into or out of the village, so Maggie’s curiosity as to where the road went was immediately aroused.
