The thought barely crossed Hugo's mind before he dismissed it outright.
How could it be possible?
Penny, the legendary, elusive physician known for her miraculous skills, couldn't possibly be a mere housewife.
It was absurd. He must have misheard.
Jenny caught the flicker of doubt in Hugo's expression. Her voice was soft and hesitant as she spoke, "Hugo, you should go after Sarah. You two used to be so close. If you divorce because of me, I'll feel so guilty. This is all my fault... If only I hadn't woken up."
Hugo smiled mockingly as he guided her to sit on the sofa. "Let her be. If she wants to throw a tantrum, that's her business," he said, his tone dripping with disdain.
Jenny hesitated, glancing towards the door where Sarah had just disappeared, her expression flickering with uncertainty "But..."
"There's no 'but'," Hugo interrupted, his voice darkening. "She's the one who asked for the divorce. She better not regret it later."
Jenny's gaze flickered towards the divorce papers on the table. Only Sarah's signature graced the pages, and her brows furrowed in concern. "She's already signed... You shouldn't let her have her way, Hugo. Tear it up. Please," she pleaded, her voice tinged with a hint of desperation.
Hugo's eyes briefly swept over the agreement, but he didn't touch it. Instead, he stood and said flatly, "I'll get you a glass of water," his demeanor betraying no emotion as he walked away.
Jenny clenched the fabric of her dress tightly. She had practically spelled it out for him. Why wasn't he signing? Once he signed, the divorce would be final.

Outside, Sarah hadn't gone far. She overheard their conversation clearly, and Hugo's words struck her like a whip.
For years, she had hidden all her talents, retreating from the circles where she once thrived, all in the hope of being his perfect wife. Now, she realized he didn't deserve her.
Divorce was the only right decision.
The call from earlier had been from Roxanne Jenkins, the manager who handled all business for Penny.
Everyone seeking Penny's help had to go through Roxanne.
Penny's reputation was legendary. It was said she could revive a person even on the brink of death, her skills unmatched.
And Sarah was Penny, the very figure countless people sought to curry favor with.
With lives at stake, Sarah didn't linger. She rushed to the hospital as quickly as possible.
*****
Half an hour later...
The hospital was bustling. A crowd had gathered outside the patient's room, including medical staff and anxious family members. All eyes were filled with worry.
Pablo, the dean, paced nervously near the door.
"Where is Penny? If she doesn't show up soon, the patient won't make it."
At the center of the group stood a tall, striking man in a black suit. He was Jacob Porter, CEO of Porter Group and the patient's son.
His chiseled features bore signs of exhaustion, and his usual calm demeanor was replaced by grim determination. If the situation delayed any further, he would face the possibility of losing his mother.
In the midst of the tension, Sarah arrived.
"Sorry, there was traffic," she said, her tone brisk and professional.
The crowd turned to her, brows furrowing as they took in the sight of the elegant, youthful woman. Who was she?
They were waiting for Penny. How could this young woman possibly be her?
Sarah noticed their confusion, but she knew better that there was no time to waste.
"Where's the patient? Take me to her," she urged.
Jacob's eyes widened slightly. 'Is that... Sarah?'
His mind raced with questions. They used to be schoolfellows, but what was she doing here?
Before anyone else could react, Pablo stepped forward, irritation written all over his face.
When he heard footsteps, he got his hopes up. He knew he would be doomed if Jacob's mother didn't make it. Yet, instead of Penny, a young woman came out of nowhere.
He turned to the security guards. "Didn't I make it clear? No unauthorized personnel! Get her out of here."
Sarah remained calm despite the hostility. "I am Penny," she said, her voice steady. "Let me in."
For a moment, the entire room fell silent.
Everyone stared at her in stunned disbelief. Did she just say she was Penny?
Even Jacob's shock was palpable. He wondered if he had misheard.
He'd never known Sarah to have any medical skills, let alone to be Penny.
The tension broke with a scoff. Eddie, a doctor in a white coat, stepped forward. "Are you kidding? You're Penny? Look at you, so young you probably haven't even graduated college. The patient inside is Mrs. Porter. If you're just here to make a scene, save it for somewhere else. Now get out!"
Sarah frowned slightly. Over the years, she had maintained strict anonymity. No one outside her trusted circle had ever seen her face.
For procedures, Roxanne always handled the arrangements, but today, Roxanne was still on her way.
With no time for further explanation, Sarah spoke firmly, "If anything happens to the patient, I'll take full responsibility. But the longer you delay, the lower her chances of survival."
"Are you deaf or what?" Eddie snorted, crossing his arms dismissively. "If you're Penny, then I must be her father. Do you even know your place?" His words dripped with sarcasm.
Another doctor chimed in, his laughter equally mocking. "Exactly. Penny's skills are practically godlike. Yet you're telling me you, seemingly a college student, are her? What a joke," he scoffed. "If that's true, our years of medical training would be a joke."
The other specialists shared the same sneering disbelief, their expressions not only doubtful but tinged with jealousy.
It was as if they believed Penny's abilities had to be a product of age and experience, not raw talent.
Sarah's gaze sharpened. Without missing a beat, she pulled out her phone. "I'm calling Roxanne right now."
