Where The Great Tree Lost Its Power

2415 Words
So many visitors filled the theater seats. Maybe they also planned to make this theater show at the end of their holiday, just Like the Pearsons and Ethan.  There weren't many things the Pearsons and Ethan did while waiting for the theater to start. Even Niall had fallen asleep in Roman's arm, but Roman woke him up right away. Even though he was still young, Ethan could already tell that Miles was compassionate, even though he often annoys his brother Niall, but he could tell the difference between when to joke and when to be serious.  According to Ethan, this is his strength. And Ethan wasn't exaggerating his thoughts. Because at his age, Ethan still sees many people who don't know when to be serious or joking.  Miles asked Niall to buy some french fries from a stall behind them. Maybe Niall would wake up sooner after they had a short walk.  Liana and Odette seemed to have discovered some new gossip Because they both had been silent and looked withered since they went from the butterfly enclosure to the theater. But now, their voices were loud, even though Ethan couldn't hear what they were saying because the sound of people surrounding them muffled their voices. "Liana and Odette are only one year apart. So back then, when they were at Miles and Niall's age, they were often mistaken as twins," said Roman. Roman seemed to know that Ethan had been watching them. That old man seemed to be able to read Ethan's mind. "Do they also attend the same school?" Ethan turned his head, and then he found Roman looking at Liana and Odette, faintly hearing the sound of their laugh. "They're even in the same class from kindergarten to high school. They sit together wherever they get the chance."  "Really? "If they are in the same class, then Liana started school a year late?" Roman nodded his head. "Liana was a shy girl. As a child, she felt pressured to be in class with people she didn't know. So I decided to send her to school the next year with Odette, and luckily with Odette's help, she can make a lot of friends." Ethan turned his head again, and they laughed until Odette almost fell backward. Luckily Liana held her body, but even so, they still laughed. "So they hang out in the same group?" Roman laughed. "You're right." Miles and Niall finally return with the fries and cola they bought together, then return the change to Roman, and the twins return to their seats, in the middle of Ethan and Odette. Not long after, a person in a blue dress appeared on the stage. On her back were wings that glinted in the reflection of the light. Everyone was silent. When she gracefully raised her head, she clasped her hands in front of her belly. She looked like a queen. Odette and Liana stopped their conversation and planned that they would continue their conversation when they got home.  "My dear people!" said the queen loudly. It seems that she was a queen. Ethan realized something. Some people dressed in blue, with artificial wings on their backs, standing on the steps in the audience seat.  "Our nation, hundreds of years, thousands of generations, have worked together to build the land that we now call home." There were people standing behind the queen. They looked dashing with a spear in their hand. They lined up behind the queen like a fortress. "Our ancestors came to this side of the forest. They were injured, they were all cold and confused, until their last hope and energy, their footsteps almost lost their spirits, they reached The Magic Tree." A group in colorful clothes came, with long shawls hung beautifully from their waist to the floor. They spun, dancing along to the beat of the music that had just been played. The wind blew at the queen, swinging her dress beautifully, but she still stood firmly in her place. The queen even stretched out her arms. "The power creeps from the vines of the magic tree penetrates the flesh and skin of our ancestors. The night without moonlight instantly turns bright, surprising even the nocturnal animals that are looking for their prey." "The magic tree has given our ancestors it's a blessing."  The guard raised their spears, then stomped them to the ground. They kept repeating it while the queen hugged herself while twisting her body backward; it was like she was protecting herself from the cold.  "The cold melts away, fire burns in the hearts of our ancestors, the spirit to fight has once again blown into their frail bodies!" Suddenly, behind the guard, there was a giant tree as wide as a house. The tree glow in soft blue light, just like the color of the queen's dress. Then a flock of birds flew over the queen. Some flew over the heads of the audience. "For that, my dear people, let us celebrate our second birth! As a strong nation that will never be defeated!" Everyone clapped as the people who had been standing in the audience trotted down in joy, joining the other.  The queen smiled happily, seeing all her people rejoicing, dancing, and singing under the cold moonlight and the majesty of the tree which had breathed a new spirit for them, the very same spirit their ancestors had. But all that changed when a red arrow stuck in front of the queen. Make all those who dance, play music, or the birds that were flying ravaged. There was an evil laugh from the side of the stage, a person in a red royal attire that looked precisely like the arrow they had shot earlier, and their dogs barked wildly and impatiently, their saliva fell to the ground, the dog's eyes glared at her people. Who began to take cover behind her knights and herself. The ancestors of the humans were the people who also oppressed their ancestors. The greedy humans still wanted to dominate whatever that was standing above the ground, including them. "Submit yourself to the power of the mighty King Adarlan!"  The guard with spears kept their bodies up for the queen and the people hiding behind them. "Only in your dreams," said one of the guards with the spear, probably the commander himself. Ethan just guessed because his body was the biggest, and he looked the strongest among the others. One of the humans, perhaps the commander from King Adarlan, laughed evilly, the laugh piercing Roman's heart, also inviting hateful screams from the audience. "You bastard!" he said in a booming voice. Everyone became silent because of his voice. "You think you can defy the power of the great king Adarlan?" The commander turned around. "Destroy that tree."  There were screams from everyone as the guards prepared to draw their spears. But it turns out they have prepared a bomb. Humans threw several bombs at the trees, and the stage was now pitch black. The only sound that the audience could hear was the screams and groans from the fairy who saw the tree burn in the scary red flames.  Some people are trying to help the tree by watering it, but the fire keeps getting bigger and bigger. And the audience silently stares at the tree.  Then there was a scary voice but very strong and charming, the voice seemed to draw you closer, but it was just a trick. What it wanted to do was kill you. "Anyone who does not submit to me, be prepared to accept the consequences!" The stage was pitch black, then when the light came back. There was a market where the fairy became a slave for humans. Humans kicked some fairy, forced to lift heavy objects until they fainted. The fairy was starving, but humans kept constantly oppressing them.  Ethan brought his lips to Roman's ear. "Did they lose their power because the tree was burned?" whispered Ethan.  Roman was silent for a while before finally shrugging his shoulders. Then a young fairy appeared. He played in the market with his friends, sometimes stealing food from humans. He laughed while playing. Until he finally bumped into someone who turned out to be a royal soldier. The soldier immediately pushed the young fairy, even stepping on his back. "Disgusting creature," muttered the soldier before returning to follow his entourage. But what the soldier didn't see were the young fairy's blazing eyes fixed on him, the eyes of a revolutionary who might in a few years be able to destroy an empire. "My name is Abhra." Abhra got up, brushing the dust off his worn clothes, then he looked at the soldier's back. "I hate those humans so much. They claim that they own everything on the land they conquer, even the people that live on that land." Abhra clenched his fists. "My nation has suffered because of them. They tore down our warm hut, even burned the magic tree that we respected for hundreds of years, thousands of generations." Then the young fairy sprinted from the center of the stage to the end of the stage and then disappeared. The stage became dark. "I told myself, I have to be strong because one day my nation will take back everything they take from us." Then an adult fairy appeared. He was running around with his friends. Laugh and push each other. They had just finished the physical training held secretly by the fairy nation. "Abhra, you cheated!" An adult fairy who appeared the first time turned his head. He was a child who had grown up with wounds that forced him to become a strong being.  "Do you think they can get back their land?" Ethan glanced at Roman. "Of course, I believe they can do it, even though I don't know what they're going to do, and no matter what you say." Roman laughs softly. Is Ethan still made with the polar bear and shark incident in the butterfly cage earlier? So just in case, Roman wouldn't bring it up. He doesn't want Ethan suddenly standing up and asking to borrow a spear to fight him. He'd better be silent this time. "I also think the same thing." "Is that true?" Roman suddenly patted Ethan gently and slowly. In the darkness, Ethan could see his eyes looking directly at Ethan. Ethan shrunk. He didn't dare look him in the eye. Before finally, Roman's hand dropped to his shoulder, then he removed his hand from Ethan's shoulder and directed his gaze to the show. There was a sweet laugh, like a song sung by a bird in the morning.  Abhra is in love with someone, and she has long, wavy hair. She wears old clothes similar to himself. She and her other female friends are on the way to someplace. Abhra froze where he was standing when she tucked a hair behind her ear, then went to chase the others. I will do my best to make her a safe place in the middle of this cruel world. The lights went out again, then changed to something terrible. It turns out that human knows the plans of the fairies to rebel. In front of them is a fairy, the leader of the guards, punished in front of other fairies as a warning to whom will rebel. Then their fate will be the same as this fairy. "I was afraid to see it, so scared, but my blood was boiling. I couldn't bear to see all the oppression that was happening in front of me." Then quickly, the lights went out again. And when it turned on, there were old fairies, and they bowed their heads, lost in sorrow and confusion because their leader had died when the preparations were ready. Abhra barged into the discussion. The old fairies were staring at him. From those looks, everyone knew that they were tired and wanted to stop this fight. But not with Abhra. "I'm tired of being oppressed! Weren't we a prosperous nation?" All the old fairies kept lowering their heads. "We are a nation living in harmony with The Great Magic Tree! For hundreds of years, thousands of generations, we have lived in a burning spirit, even hotter than the fire that burned The Magic Tree so many years ago." But the old fairies left Abhra instead. "I'm sure Bevan would have said the same thing if he were still among us. Even though The Magic Tree has burned, love and spirit that's for hundreds of years in the hearts of each people will never disappear!" Now it was dark all around Abhra, and the lights only focused on the young fairy, who was clenching his fists, then behind him, The magic tree about to die was shown. But there was one thing that caught the eye, and the audience even cheered with joy, including Ethan, who patted Roman's thigh impatiently, pointing forward. A healthy little leaf grows from the branch of The Magic Tree. The first leaf after dying for years. "There was a leaf on The Magic Tree! There was a leaf on The Magic Tree!" All the fairies chimed in, but on the other hand. Those haughty humans started to worry, and they got even more worried when nothing could remove the leaf because the leaf kept growing when they pulled it out. It didn't even burn. The longer the leaves are growing, along with the fairies who started fighting humans, the situation begins to turn around slowly. "That tree regained its power from the love of the fairy, didn't it?" Roman smiled. Somehow he was happy because the fairy had got their powers. "Is love that great?" Ethan turned his head. His charisma didn't fade in the dark. He still looked strong, firm wherever he was. Ethan nodded. "I believe in the power of love." Roman laughed, briefly but pleasantly, like sipping a glass of water when thirsty. "What is love, anyway?" That's right, what is love? According to Ethan, love is a feeling where you can't stop thinking about the person you love, and love is where you always think about what he is doing. Love is something that makes you forget about your own life and makes you always think about other people, from small things to big things. "I'm not sure. But the love that grows the tree is the same great feeling I felt, right?"
