Chapter 59Sheppard leaned back in his chair, contemplating how to answer the question. He figured honesty would be the best option, but without knowing what was in Sophie’s emails or why there were so many, he didn’t know where to start.
“Sophie can be a bit of a pain, but she’s worth the trouble. She knew I was coming here and was probably trying to bring you up to speed.”
Jordan continued to lean forward on her desk with her hands clasped together, her facial expression suggesting that she wasn’t buying Sheppard’s explanation. Sheppard figured she may have what had become commonly known as resting b***h face, although it was just as likely that she was annoyed at having this land in her jurisdiction before her second coffee.
“So, what’s pissed you off, Special Agent Decker?”
