Chapter_63: The Legacy of the Royal Guardian Armour.

1122 Words
It was one of the greatest of time in human history. The second world war had just ended and there was a hope of a better future for humanity. The allied forces had crushed the axis forces of Germany and Japan and the whole world drew a sigh of relief that the terrible war had ended. Everybody knew how the axis forces were defeated and how Hitler died but few had any idea about the one supernatural war that took place in the front lines of Germany which could have very well turned the tide of the entire war. According to one classified file, there was a great war between the Guardians and the forces of the darkness in an undisclosed location somewhere in East Germany. The allied forces were greeted with thousands of ravaging humanoid monsters and demons as they kept pushing forward. Initially there was utter chaos as the weapons of the allied army didn’t work on the monsters. But then hundreds of Guardians came to their rescue, riding on their horses, with their mediaeval armours and long swords raging forward bravely and slaughtering the demons and the monsters. They fought hard and they fought like true heroes, for the enemy was in thousands and they were merely a hundred men. They kept fighting until their last breath, until there were merely twenty of those brave men and women standing- the dark forces still had plenty of soldiers to spare. It seemed that it was impossible to win at this point. But the Guardians had one ace up their sleeve- the Royal Guardian Armour. It’s bearer was a brave man who had previously shown great valour and courage. The armour gave enormous strength to it’s bearer but that wouldn’t end this war. There was a portal open behind the enemy lines that spewed out unlimited demons and monsters from another realm. To win the war, the guardian army had to destroy the portal but it was almost impossible because that would require enormous amount of energy. There was only one choice left with the guardians and that was to go Supernova! You see the Royal Armour acted like an amplifier of sorts. It amplified the Chi or life force of it’s bearer. It could collect and store and amplify Chi. Seeing that there was no other option left, the guardians decided to transfer all their chi to the bearer of the Royal Armour and once that was done, the bearer would act like a nuclear weapon of Chi, ready to detonate and destroy all evil in his path. This would mean that each guardian had to willingly give up all their Chi even it would end their lives and the bearer would turn to dust after the blast. With tears and pride in their eyes, twenty of those brave men and women laid down their lives as they transferred all their life force to the bearer and after they did so, the bearer of the Royal armour walked calmly towards the enemy. Hundreds of monsters jumped at him all at once and tried to tear him to pieces. Moments later, he released all the collected Chi- there was a huge blast of energy almost akin to the blast of a nuclear weapon, except it wasn’t radio active. The allied forces watched in awe as a bright light of energy swept across the battlefield and destroyed each and every demon and monster. The portal was destroyed, the monsters were killed and the battle was won. The Nazis lost and their plan to conquer the world with the help of the Eternal Darkness was destroyed by the sacrifice of those unknown Guardians. The brave Guardian who released the Supernova was Johnathan’s father. His armour was later secured by the allied army and studied extensively until they finally put it in the national museum of Athena. Only the elders who survived knew the truth about the armour and the powers it held. There hadn’t been another Guardian after the second world war to wear that armour until now- it was Johnathan’s fate to bear the legacy of his father... The Chimera growled loudly at Johnathan, he jumped at it with his sword held high and struck it on his face. He cut its head and it split into two but to his surprise, it rejoined again. It was immortal. Solomon kept yelling at him to absorb the armour but Johnathan couldn’t hear him. It spewed fire again but this time with greater force. Johnathan was blown all the way to the other end of the lobby. Solomon dragged the heavy armour and grabbed his right hand and placed it on the breast plate of the armour. It was an old dusty knight's full body armour but Solomon could only drag out the upper part because of its weight. "It cannot be killed so easily- here- take it in- hit the heart in it's belly" he said. Johnathan was confused for a moment but before he could think of anything else, the armour started reacting with his hand. Suddenly it felt warm and the next moment his hand stuck to it like glue and it started to become hotter by the second. He wanted to remove his hand but he couldn't and now it was starting to burn, he groaned in pain. "It's working- hold on- it recognises you-" Solomon said. And suddenly the armour glowed and energy beamed out of it and into Johnathan's hand. "Yes- yes- it's working- you're absorbing it- " Solomon cheered. Within seconds strange energy flowed into Johnathan and then the armour stopped glowing. Johnathan released his hand from it and looked at Solomon. "Now What?" he asked. "Call upon it!" replied Solomon. The Chimera came galloping towards them and it was only a matter of seconds before it would trample them over. But before it could reach them Johnathan grunted and jerked his arms and the armour came to life over his body, except there was no bulky metal but the shape of the armour appeared all over Johnathan's upper body- it was a strange translucent image- almost like a hologram that covered him. The armour was on him and yet it was merely an image. He rushed towards the monster and as it came closer he punched it hard- it fell back crashing against the wall. Solomon was excited to see this- he never expected the armour to react this way on him - it looked quite modern and minimalistic. "Finish it Johnny- nothing can hurt you now- don't hold back- you're invincible-" shouted Solomon in excitement.
