“Thieves, murderers! Ah- they escaped!” remarked Farid as Solomon helped him to get up. “Let them be- Brother- let them be-” replied Solomon. “You don’t understand Brother, they’ve stolen something very precious- they got the Eye of Horus!” explained Farid. Solomon’s eyes opened wide. “You don’t say! Oh this is bad- tsk! Really bad-”remarked Solomon. “What exactly is this Eye you’re talking about?” asked Johnathan. “Let’s get out of here first!” said Solomon. The three of them agreed quickly got in the truck and loaded the Royal Armour in the back. “Do we still need this?” asked Johnathan looking at the armour. “Oh yes we do- I think it has more to offer than give you powers-” replied Solomon. Johnathan started his truck and drove away into the dark street. Somewhere in the middle of the city, in a seedy motel, Billy and Raven were observing the Eye, trying to decode how it really works. Billy’s plan to forge the eye and sell it to his client was kind of fading. He didn’t want to sell the eye any more- the thing emanated such radiance and power that Billy was captivated by it- he looked at it with power hungry eyes. “So let’s do this- forge the thing and let’s sell it-”said Raven. “Well about that- you see this thing has so much power that it can change our lives-” replied Billy. “Money can change our lives not this piece of ancient jewellery- don’t tell me your’e having second thoughts!” said Raven. “C’mon- it’s not just a shiny object, according to the ancient texts, it gives you the power to foresee the future or to take a look at the past- it can give you access to different realms-”replied Billy. “Do whatever you want after you’ve forged it- you said that you don’t need the entire thing anyway- only the gem in the centre was important-” Raven said. “Well not quite- if I give away the eye after forging the gem, then I’ve to look for another alternative object to hold the gem- you see without the outer shape, the gem wouldn’t be as powerful- and our client will definitely notice it sooner or later that we handed him a fake-”replied Billy. Raven took out her gun and pointed at Billy. “You lying piece of crap! You manipulative son of a- this is not what you said earlier- You’re so power hungry that you would sell your own child! Hand me that thing- Now!” Raven yelled at him. “Hey- hey- calm down-you want money? I’ll get you money- let’s just talk about it right- put down that thing-” Billy said raising his hands up. “You think I’m gonna trust you again? Give me the Eye- I’m gonna sell it myself-” said Raven c*****g her gun. “I can’t do that and you know it- I can’t let some fancy rich guy take this thing and show it off- what do they know about its powers? Put the gun down honey- let’s talk-” said Billy. “I don’t trust you and I didn’t like you from the start- the way you use everybody- just die old man-”said Raven and fired two shots at Billy. The bullets pierced Billy’s chest and there were two holes in it but to her surprise, he was still standing there like nothing happened. “What are you?” exclaimed Raven. “I’m immortal babe- well technically I still have to finish the ritual so I’m half immortal but still I can’t be killed!” replied Billy smiling and walking towards Raven. Raven backed off quickly and reached for the door- as she did, she fired two more shots at him and one hit him in the middle of the forehead-he froze for a moment- “That’s gonna hurt!”he said and waited for the bullet to pop out of his forehead. Raven had seen enough. She ran as fast as she could and got on her bike and drove away. She realized at that moment that the reason that Billy wouldn’t give up the Eye of the Horus was because he wished to gain immortality and be more powerful. She regretted helping him out but she had also betrayed Johnathan and the others, she had nowhere to go now- Billy let her go, knowing that she could do little to harm him. He was pleased with himself now that he didn’t have to share the power of the eye with others. But first he needed to secure the eye and change his location. He needed to focus on the ritual to unlock the powers of the eye- a place that was full of dark energy- abandoned and desolate- where no one would disturb him. He knew just the place that matched all his requirements- Cooper’s Town! Johnathan reached The Lucky Shop and the three of them got out and went inside. It was almost dawn. “So tell me again- how did you learn to heal?” asked Farid. “Honestly- I have no idea- I just knew how to do it- I think the armour showed me how- Brother Solomon was right- the armour does have extraordinary abilities-”replied Johnathan relaxing on a chair. Farid kept thinking for a while. “I think we have bigger problems in our hands right now, Brother- The Eye? Sweet Lord! I really hope that they don’t unlock it!” replied Solomon collapsing on a chair. “Okay so anyone care to explain me about this Eye thingy?” remarked Johnathan. “This Eye thingy- is probably one of the most powerful occult object in human history-”explained Farid “first seen in the Old Kingdom of the Egyptian empire, it is said to belong to the god Horus- the sky deity- you can read up about it later- its in one of the books in my library. It is said that before Horus ascended to heaven, he gifted one of his eyes to some priests of Egypt as a gift of protection. As long as the people had the Eye in one of their temples, no one could conquer or defeat them. Hundreds of years passed until one day the Eye was stolen by some Persian thugs. Whoever possesses the eye is virtually impossible to hurt or kill and after they had performed a certain ritual and pleased the god Horus, the Eye gets absorbed into their bodies permanently and they become invincible. According to the texts, it says that the bearer of the Eye also gets the ability to see through time and in certain cases has the power to move between different realms-” “This seems like a fairy tale to me- I mean c’mon!” Johnathan shrugged in disbelief. “You know well that there are no fairy tales in this city- everything that was once true- might as well still be true-” replied Solomon. “The ritual-”continued Farid “that I don’t know but I know one thing that it requires a place where there’s enormous amounts of energy- good or evil, anything will do- the eye harnesses energy to activate-” “So Billy’s after these powers- that old fox killed one of the guards in the museum too- I wonder why Raven’s helping him- I regret trusting him as my guide!” remarked Johnathan. “Let’s get some rest for now- we will talk about this later-”said Farid- something was really bugging him. Five hours later... Lisa drove up to the museum after the Captain asked her to investigate the burglary at the museum. She entered the premises and suddenly an eerie feeling engulfed her mind. Something was not quite right with the place. The sergeants showed her the bodies that lay dead on the lobby inside. One was a night watchman, two were the notorious Dillinger Brothers. She began questioning the remaining two watchmen who had been knocked out by the thieves. “One was a woman-”said one of the guards. Lisa wondered what this new mess was- it was curious enough that the most wanted burglars in town were found dead on the scene. Maybe there was an internal strife among the members of the gang. She found out that they stole a precious Egyptian relic. Later forensics confirmed that there were other people too in the scene and there might have been quite a struggle. They also found traces of blood in the lawn which they sent to the lab to be analyzed. Lisa strongly felt that this was something supernatural and Johnathan and Billy had something to do with this- “Why do I always have to clean up their mess?” she whispered to herself.
