Chapter 16:
Armed with the knowledge Jack's team had gathered, Davis set out with Jack and a small team of trusted security personnel. The location they tracked was a run-down warehouse on the outskirts of the city—isolated and perfect for someone like Marcus to hide.
As they arrived at the warehouse, the tension was palpable. Davis’s heart pounded in his chest as he readied himself for the confrontation. Jack motioned for the team to spread out, quietly surrounding the building. The air was thick with anticipation.
Inside the warehouse, it was eerily silent. The only sound was the faint drip of water echoing from somewhere in the darkness. Davis gripped his weapon tightly, moving carefully through the shadows.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness—a shadowy silhouette. It was Marcus.
“Finally, you came to me,” Marcus said, his voice low and mocking. “I was starting to think you were too scared to face me.”
Davis stepped forward, his jaw clenched. “This ends tonight, Marcus. No more games.”
Marcus laughed, the sound cold and hollow. “Games? Oh, Davis, this was never a game. This is justice.”
Marcus lunged at Davis, and the two men clashed in a brutal fight. Every punch, every move was filled with years of pent-up anger and hatred. Marcus fought with wild, desperate fury, but Davis was fueled by something stronger—his love for his family and his need to protect them.
The fight raged on, and at one point, Marcus managed to knock Davis to the ground. “You ruined everything!” Marcus shouted, standing over Davis with a look of pure rage. “Now, I’m going to make you watch as your world burns.”
Davis, bloodied but determined, pushed himself to his feet. “Not this time,” he growled.
With a final surge of strength, Davis tackled Marcus, overpowering him. Jack and the team stormed in, subduing Marcus before he could escape. This time, there would be no more chances. Marcus was done.
