Chapter 19

The rescue operation started early in the morning, Pia, Seb, and Jeremy comes with them, hoping at this day, they will find Dawin and Alice but to their dismay, it's already 4 pm but still there is no traces of Dawin and Alice, Pia was already tearing up.

They already visited 20 islands near jeju but still.

All of them are now in the port, Pia had already changed her clothes and now they are in a hall, as they will going to plan their mission for tomorrow.

"So the Jeju was surrounded by almost 50 islands and tomorrow we'll visit the other 20 islands and if we still won't find them, in the next, next day will continue the 10 remaining islands, and hopefully we'll find them."

Jeremy sigh, there's no way they won't find the couple, they need to or else the family will be helpless knowing the rescuers search all islands near jeju and Alice and Dawin is still not present there.

After the small meeting they had, Pia and Jeremy goes back to the Mansion, and Seb goes back to the hotel as someone called him earlier about Dawin work.

When Pia and Jeremy reached the Mansion, they we're welcomed by their family and of course Brian who was happy to see his uncle and auntie after a long day.

"So tomorrow will be your day 2 in finding Alice and Dawin right?" Lucas asked the both of them.

"Yes dad, we still have 30 islands to visit but tomorrow we will find them in 20 islands and I really hope we'll find them tomorrow,"Pia said frustatingly.

"Everyone, let's go to the kitchen I prepared foods,"Jin said while smiling slightly but they can clearly see the sadness in Jin's eyes.

All of them went to the kitchen and started eating.

Pia and Jeremy goes to the room first as tomorrow they will woke up early again to go to the port.

A new day comes and now is the sixth day, and unfortunately Alice and Dawin are still in the island.

Alice woke up early than Dawin and decided to make a breakfast for the both of them.

When Dawin woke up, he went to the kitchen and he was glad that Alice have already prepared their breakfast.

Alice was just quite in the whole time and Dawin of course didn't like it, as aside from the silence, he can also see the distress in Alice face.

"Alice, what's wrong?" Dawin finally asks when Alice was about to get up in the dining chair as she was done eating.

"Nothing?" Alice said but she herself knows she is lying.

"Come sit again Alice, we won't get up if you won't tell me."

Alice sigh, nonetheless followed what Dawin said, after all Dawin knows her if she was lying or not.

"Well obviously it's been the sixth day we're here how come no one still find us, I know our family are finding us but it's been almost one week from the accident and we're still here stuck in this island, if we are in other situation,like staying here for a vacation then I'm glad we're here but this, this isn't right,

Win, I have my son waiting for me in Seoul or wherever they are right now and I wanna go back."

Alice was now crying and Dawin felt bad, because he also feels the same as Alice, he wants to go back in Seoul and work and go home and spend time with Brian but that won't happen until someone will finally found them.

"Alice just have faith, maybe god had plan everything all along, and maybe we should be also thankful that in many islands surrounds Jeju we really we're stuck here in your island and we we're provided by a shelter and we have foods enough to survive, and until then, let's wait for our family and the rescuers to finally find us."

Alice stared at Dawin for sometime before she launches herself to Dawin. Dawin was taken back a little but he still nonetheless hug back, after all both needs assurance that everything will be okay again.

After sometime of hugging, Alice let go of Dawin and Dawin instantly missed the warmth Alice provided for him.

"Dawin, how about we go back to the lake I went to the lake early in the morning and I felt like the weather today would be good."

Dawin smiled a little and nodded.

"Foods, do we need to bring those?" Dawin asks.

"How about no? Let's just bath there, the water there is warm and I really want to go there like right now!" Alice said while jumping in to her seat.

Dawin flinched a little but nonetheless nodded.

After Alice went to the room and grab their extra clothes, both started their journey going to the lake.

But Dawin still locked the door and windows, just incase.

After sometime of walking, finally both arrived in the lake, and Alice was definitely right, the good weather really reflects in the lake.

Alice instantly let go of the bag she's holding and run going to the lake and instantly jump.

"Alice!" Dawin shockingly said when he saw Alice who was so eager to jump in the said lake.

"Come Dawin! The water is so good!" She was flopping her hands excitedly and Dawin unconsciously cooed at her, like who wouldn't be when she was so cute while giggling and laughing while calling Dawin.

Dawin nods at her and strip his tshirt.

When Alice saw it she instantly shouted while covering her eyes.

"Can you like inform me before you do that?!"

Dawin wholeheartedly laugh but then smirk later on.

"You saw and touched this before so why cover your eyes?" He asks smugly.

Alice removed her hands from covering her eyes and instantly glared at Dawin.

But then she raised her middle finger and Dawin stood there shock.

"You?!" He instantly jumped in the water and Alice laugh loudly.

Dawin swam to Alice's direction and instantly tackled her in to hug.

Alice was taken back but she sigh and instantly hugged Dawin back.

But how wrong she was when Dawin ticked her instantly resulting for her to laugh out loud.

"Win stop!" Aluce continuously laugh but after sometime of teasing each other, mostly Dawin tickling her, Alice stopped laughing and clinged herself to Dawin, resulting for him to stop also and instantly hug her back again.

Alice hugs Dawin neck and burried her head in the crook of Dawin's neck.

Dawin smiled and hug her waist tightly.

"I-I miss this," Alice hesitantly said, or more like murmur. But Dawin heard it, loud and clear.

"Me too, so, so much."

Alice faced Dawin and stared at him, she traced his jaw using her fingers and cupped his cheeks, Dawin also did the same to Alice.

Everything around them seems nothing when two heartbeats was beating at the same, and that was all mattered, to be with each other, hugging each other tightly.

Dawin leaned and suddenly captured Alice's lips, Alice froze but when she returned from her senses, she kissed back to Dawin.

A tear rolled down from both of their eyes, and Dawin gripped Alice's waist more tighter. Alice whimpered but she still didn't care and unconsciously she deepen the kissed.

They kissed for a while not until Alice realized everything.

At the same time Dawin back away and looked at Alice's eyes.

"P-please Love, t-tell me everything, I want us to be together again, just like before, please I-I want you, no I need you so much," Dawin was now full on sobbing.

"T-this is a mistake," Alice blurted out.

Dawin looked her shocked.

"W-what? No this is not a mistake, Love please tell me everything I'll forgive you please, I want you back Alice!"

Alice cried," No, this is a mistake, what happened earlier is a mistake."

Dawin looked her helplessly.

Alice let go of Dawin and swam back to the ground.

Dawin was still in dazed, how come this happened, why can'g Alice tell him everything, just why?!

Alice walked back to the house while sobbing.

"I'm sorry love," she keeps mumbling it like a mantra, she was really devastated, and the kiss, it was never been a mistake.

Dawin was still in the water staring at nothing.

Dawin harshly wiped his tears and also get out from the water, he wear his tshirt again and decided to go back, but when he reached the house, he felt something again.

So he decided to go for now in the seaside, maybe he wanted to clear some thoughts before he will go back to Alice's house.

Alice on the other hand have already changed and she was now laying in her bed while staring at the ceiling.

She lied earlier, she enjoyed it, the kiss. She wants more, she wants to feel Dawin fully, but for her that won't happen anymore, cause if she wants that to happen she should tell Dawin everything from the past and she did she surely knows Dawin will be mad at his family especially his dad.

She was deep in her thoughts that she didn't notice she fell asleep.

After an hour of thinking and staring into the sea, Dawin decided to go back in the house as it was almost night.

When Dawin entered the house, he was welcomed by complete silence, he sigh and opened the lights as it was closed.

He cooked dinner and decided to eat by himself, but he also left some for Alice.

He went to Alice room and was going to knock but he decided not to, but he saw the door slightly opened and he decided to peek a little and he sigh when he saw Alice sleeping peacefully.

Dawin showered and decided to sleep early as he was also hoping tomorrow someone will finally found them.

An hour later, Dawin was now in deep slumber and Alice also woke up from her sleep.

She decided to go out in her room to eat as she was hungry and when she did, she was welcomed by Dawin who is sleeping peacefully in her wide couch.

She sigh when he saw Dawin was not using a blanket when at this time, the temperature goes down.

She put a thick blanket around Dawin and went to the kitchen, she smiled a little when she saw foods in the table, she reheat it using microwave and started to eat.

When she was done, including washing her plates she used she goes back to her room and read a book in her bed. But after a while she fell asleep again.

Earlier in the morning.

The 2nd day for the rescue operation.

The 2nd day for the rescue operation had started and now they are in the 5th island they visit.

The island is small that's why the others decided to roam around, hoping they will saw the couple but unfortunately they didn't.

In the sixth island, it was a little bigger than before so Pia also helped along with Seb and Jeremy.

"Win! Alice! Where are you?!" Pia was panting heavily and Seb who is just behind her gave her water.

"Here water, Mam why don't you go back in the boat, you seemed a little tired, and a little rest is not bad," Seb politely said.

Pia looked at him and nodded, she holds Seb's arm and Seb understood it and lead her the way going to the boat.

"Seb, w-what if Dawin and Alice is not in the island we will search in the future?" Pia hesistantly asks.

Seb smiled a little, "No mam, we will definitely find them, maybe not in this island but I'm sure we will find them, if not today then maybe tomorrow."

"Thank you, really you have a really good determination especially on this."

"I grew up without relying on someone Mam, and surely determination was with me when I grew up all along 'till now."

"Wait what? Without? Where are ayour parents?"

"I don't know Mam, I grew up in orphanage."

Pia gasp and looked at him shockingly.

Before she could talk, the rescue leader went to them and bowed.

"Mam Pia we will go the other island, there's no one here."

Pia nodded while still shock, and all of them started their journey to another island.

After searching in 20 islands, they go back to Busan port with an heavy hearts, and there's Pia's faith is also losing, how could this be happened? Why does it needs to be Dawin amd Alice who went missing for almost 1 week. Why can't they find them, is faith really playing with them, Pia badly wanted to see Dawin and Alice, safe and sound.

After the rescue mission, Pia and Jeremy decided to go back in the mansion, their family already knows that they still didn't find the couple and they we're disheartened to receive the news.

Before Pia and Jeremy could went inside the car the rescue team leader called them Behind.

"Yes?" Pia said.

"Mam, if you will allow can we follow you till the mansion, cause we need to discuss something with the both of you and your family."

Pia looked at Jeremy confusingly but Jeremy nodded to the leader, so Pia also agreed.

"I'll follow also," Pia looked to her side to see Seb while walking near them.

"Yes okay, we'll just do convoy," Pia said.

Three cars we're going to the Mansion and Pia already texted her mother to prepare foods as all of them who join the rescue is obviously tired and hungry.

After half an hour finally they arrived in the Mansion, Pia was the first one to enter followed be jeremy, seb and the others.

"Good Morning Sir!" Mae and Jia said in unison to the rescue leader, who just have the same age as them.

The rescue team leader greeted back and his assistant also bowed to the Marquez.

"So what's the matter you want to talk about?" Lucas blurted out.

"Is there something wrong?" Jia asks in concern.

"Auntie where is Brian?" Pia asks as she didn't saw Brian playing in the living room.

"Oh, honey he's sleeping as he was tired from playing all day."

Pia nodded.

"So as I was saying we need to talk to all of you for something."

"Um, before that? Can we sit first in the dining area as I cooked dishes for all of you."

All of them agreed and went to the Dining area.

Lucas decided to let them eat first before they will talk about the matter the rescue leader wanted to talk about.

After all of them finished the foods, the maid went to the dining table and grab the plates so they will talk peacefully there.

"So what is it?" Jin asks as he was eager to listen to the rescue team leader.

"Tomorrow we will continue the search in the last 10 islands near jeju."

"And?" Lucas said.

"As I say before, there are fifty islands that surrounds Jeju, including the small islands and the bigger islands, and tomorrow if we'll not found Mr. And Mrs. Marquez in the last 10 islands then we we're sorry to say this, but we will declared them dead."

Pia drop the glass of water in floor and Seb who is just beside her called the maid as Pia was not clearly in her right mind.

Lisa and Jin had mouth agape while staring at the leader.

"No! They are not dead!" Lucas suddenly shouted, and Mae instantly hugged his husband while Jeremy was busy comforting his girlfriend and mother.

"Yes they are not, for now. But tomorrow if we will not find them and it was also the 7th day they've gone missing, we have no other choice but to declare--"

"No! Don't say that, we will find them I know it, we will!" Jin frustatingly said.

The rescue team leader sigh and stands up from his sit.

"That's what all we want to talk about, and we will go now."

All of them bid goodbye's to the leader along with his assistant.

Pia was now crying and Seb was busy on comforting her, Lucas was livid, just on thinking about his two children.

"Uncle, Auntie, I'll come with them tomorrow in rescue operation, and I know we will find Alice and Dawin, there's no way we won't," Jin said and determination can be clearly seen in his face.

Lucas smiled and thanked Jin, even though he wanted to join on their mission but he can't as he knows Mae will also come and he won't let that happen because it'll be dangerous.

Day 7.

Alice woke up in 4 am, while Dawin woke up by 4:30, but Alice didn't went out to her room as she was not hungry at all because early morning like this, her appetite is nowhere to be found.

She only had water in her night table.

Both didn't know the exact reason why the both of them woke up very early as for the past few days here in the island, usually Alice and Dawin will wake up by 7 am or 8 am.

Alice decided to continue on reading the book she read yesterday. While Dawin decided to make himself an simple dish, as he knows Alice doesn't eat at the time like this.

5 a.m, that's how early Pia and the others started there mission on finding Alice and Dawin.

Jin was now with them, and Pia is praying internally that today they should finally found Alice and Dawin.

The island they first search is small and there was no traces of human living here, so they decided to go the next location.

When they reach there, it was bigger than the first so they need to roam around the island.

Jin, Jeremy, Seb, Pia was busy shouting Alice and Dawin's name but into their dismay, native people was only present there, no traces of Alice and Dawin.

They search the 4th island but still no traces of the couple.

The fifth island, it was completely empty and Pia found it also creepy and that was increased when Seb was running near them while panting.

And Pia asked him what a wrong and Seb answered, he saw many skeletons in the south and it was actually an abandoned cemetery.

Pia gasp along with Jin while Jeremy just shrugged.

Pia and Jin hurriedly ran going to the boat, and Seb looked at them dumbfounded.

The sixth island they visited, they decided to go the seventh island hurriedly as when they were near the forest, the team leader hurriedly tell them to go back in the boat as he saw many snakes in the whole place, like literally it was like an island just made for snakes.

It was now 9 am and Alice and Dawin was in the seaside, both still didn't talk and none wants To.

Dawin locked the house and gate, just incase.

Alice was just sitting at the sand and she was busy staring at the sea. While Dawin was looking at the different plants near a tree.

Alice was about to stand up when she heard a engine sound, more specifically an boat engine coming towards their island.

Dawin also heard it and instantly looked at Alice who is also staring at him, both still didn't talk but the glistening in their eyes was so obvious.

Pia and the others finally arrive in the seventh island but they didn't saw Alice and Dawin who is just behind a big rock that's we're Alice sits earlier.

"Dawin!? Alice?!" Pia shouted.

When Alice heard it, she hurriedly stands up and shouted, "Pia?!"

The whole team froze and looked to their right side and was welcomed by Alice and Dawin who rans to their direction.

Pia froze while Jin instantly tackled Dawin into hug and Dawin also hugged him tightly.

Pia was backed from her senses when Alice hugged her tightly.

"Thank god!"

Pia hugged Alice and both cried in happiness.

Dawin was shocked to see Seb but he was glad and he also realize he got an Loyal assistant, he hugged Seb, who was about to tear up.

Jeremy hugged Alice tightly that Alice needs to slap his shoulder so Alice could leaned away from him.

Dawin hugged Pia and he tear up when Pia rounds her fingers through Dawin's hair.

"Oh I miss you Dawin!"

Alice's eyes widen when she saw the rescue team leader along with his team is about to enter the forest, so she left no choice but to shout.

"Stop!" All of them froze while Dawin instantly realize what Alice wanted.

So he walk near the leader and talked to him and after five minutes the team leader nodded and told his team to go back in the boat.

Dawin also told Jin, Jeremy, and Pia to go back in the boat as he said Alice wanted to go back to their family in an instant.

And finally after 7 days, the both of them is now back with their families.
