Chapter 12

Dawin stirred on his sleep when he feels the someone moving beside him.

He open his eyes a little to see Alice has woke up from his sleep. He turned his back from Alice and check his phone.

3:30 am.

Now he became more alert as he realize Alice maybe woke up because of the very disturbing noise outside. He gets up from the bed and gets the flashlight.

He walk near the window and tried to see what's happening outside. Luckily his flashlight has a very bright light.

And he was literally shocked.

All the trees we're taken down from the strong wind and it was flooding severely.

He sighed in relief when he realize that their house is more elevated.

"D-dawin?"

Dawin then turned his head to Alice.

"What?"

"When will this end? This is g-getting out of hands now."

Dawin knows Alice is scared.

"I don't know, but don't be scared, we are safe okay?"

Alice nods and gets up to drink water and Dawin decided to call Pia.

But he cursed under his breath when he realize the signal was cut off hours earlier.

"Alice you stay here, I'll go downstairs to check everything."

Waiting for Alice's answer Dawin looks up to Alice who seems more scared as she shaked her head immediately.

"Please, I'll go with you, I don't want to be alone."

Dawin sigh knowing Alice can be stubborn sometimes.

He nods and gets his flash light and toss another one to Alice.

"Don't go anywhere and just stay by my side got it?"

Alice nods, thankful that for now Dawin didn't talk to her harshly.

Their house is modern so that's why when you are near the stairs you can see a big window facing on it, and the view on that window is city lights, their house is in top land so that's why they can see the Seoul view.

When they are near the stairs Alice gasp loudly and out of control, she holds Dawin's arms immediately, as Dawin didn't also care as he was also shocked from what they both saw.

There in the big window they can see many establishments have been taken down by the severe typhoon, almost half of the establishments in Seoul has been gone. Yes it's dark but surprisingly there is a light illuminates through the city and they both have no idea were it came from.

The trees we're all gone and now Alice holds Dawin's arms tightly.

"O my god Dawin what are we gonna do, this is really severe, this is getting out of hands!"

"I don't know why they didn't let people inform that this is more severe than expected, but for now let's go downstairs and again, stay near me got it?"

Alice nods and they started walking the stairs, and Alice didn't still let go of Dawin's arms.

Both sigh in relief when they reach downstairs, there is no water leaking at all, everything is fine, except for the strong storm happening on the outside right now.

When they were done checking everything they decided to go upstairs again and stay at Dawin's room as it is surely safe.

They both were also devastated as they want to contact their families and friends but unfortunately signal is not available in the moment.

Alice was just using her phone in the bed while Dawin is sitting on the couch, staring at the window, thinking about his family and friends and most of all his company building, he is scared but of course he won't admit it out loud.

He decided to check his files while checking Alice from time to time.

He was signing a deal when it needed a date, he forgot the date now so he decided to ask Alice as his phone is charging through power bank.

"Alice."

Alice looks to him and raise her eyebrows indicating Dawin to continue.

"What date is today?"

"Oh it's October 13--" but she stop midway when she realize something.

Dawin also froze as he remembered it also.

October 13, it is the day when they became a couple. October 13, 2012.

"Oh I'm sorry, You just ask so I answer."

"No no it's okay."

Alice instantly uses her phone while Dawin is still staring her.

'maybe we are now celebrating our 10th year anniversary if we both just didn't break up.' Both thought sadly at the same time.

After the sad realization, after sometime Alice and Dawin decided to sleep for a while as both were tired.

It's now 6 am and Dawin was the first one to woke up and he decided to wake up Alice also as they both planned earlier that they will go out in the house as the storm thankfully ended.

Well unfortunately the signal and electricity was still cut off, but the important thing is, both of them is fine.

"Alice, wake up," Dawin said a little coldly as he remember the date again.

Alice groaned and opened her eyes a little, she realize their plan and get ups.

"Did you check the car?" Alice asks, not knowing Dawin just woke up recently.

"No, I just woke up."

Alice just nodded and stands up and proceeds to go out on the room.

"We're are you going?"

"I'll just wash up, you too, and we'll just meet downstairs."

Dawin nodded agreeing at Alice's suggestion.

Both did their own morning routine and Alice was the first one to be done, so she decided to get down first and cook a breakfast for the both of them.

Well here's the thing, Alice is contemplating if Dawin will eat what she cooked or maybe he will just decline it.

She was cut off from her thoughts when Dawin entered the kitchen.

"What are you cooking?" Dawin asks.

"Oh Bacons and tuna sandwich, if you want you can join me," Alice said hopeful.

Dawin then nodded and they both started eating quitely.

Alice noticed it but luckily it was not an awkward silence but more like an comfortable silence.

After they were both done eating they get ready their things and Dawin gets the cer key from the table and they both go out.

"O my god, this is worse than what we saw yesterday," Alice said disappointedly.

Dawin nods in approval, when he roams his eyes everywhere, he then noticed something.

"Alice?"

"Hm?"

Dawin looks to her and said, "We need to walk cause we can't use my car, the road is stuffed with trees and branches."

Alice widen her eyes and that's when she glance at the road and all she saw was the trees lying there lifeless.

"Oh, I guess your right, luckily we both wear rubber shoes, so it's more safer."

Both then readied themselves, they both wore sling bags that contains some emergency stuff just in case, and they wore a thick jacket as it was very cold and they started walking.

"This is literally crazy, last few days this place is so clean and peaceful, but now look at those some houses that have been destroyed," Alice said sadly.

Dawin just looked at her and sighed.

"If the mother nature takes it action, we have no defense from it, mother nature is the strongest of all and we humans can't do anything from that," Dawin said and Alice stared at him at awe.

'he is always deep in his words,' Alice thought.

Alice was walking in front of Dawin, while Dawin is obviously is on her back.

"This is more harder than I tho-- AHH!"

Alice didn't complete her sentence when she almost trip on a big twig in front of her.

She closes her eyes waiting for the impact that didn't happen, rather she feels a strong grip on his waist and when she opened her eyes, she was faced with Dawin who is looking worriedly at her.

"I told you to watch your steps, please Alice be careful!" Dawin said breathessly.

While Alice she was shocked.

"I'm sorry, I was not looking," Alice immediately composes herself and out of instinct she holds Dawin's arms.

Dawin looked at her and sigh.

'just for now,' Dawin thought.

When they arrived at the main city, they saw many people, some are talking, some are inspecting the establishments.

But what caught Dawin and Alice's attention is the people who is gathered in one place.

Both are curious so they decided to walk near them.

Both gasp for what they both saw.

Dead bodies are laying on the floor, covered with black bags, they were so many of them, many people are crying also.

"This can't be," Alice suddenly teared up .

Dawin looked at her and he hesitantly holds her waist, but he sigh in relief when Alice put her head on Dawin's shoulder.

"Everything happens for a reason Alice."

"B-but still, this is unacceptable many people died."

Dawin looked at her and slowly drag her away from the dead bodies.

"We don't want this to happen, heck no one expected this s**t to happen, but what is done is done," he said softly to Alice.

'she is still the same sensitive, fragile Alice that I know,' Dawin thought.

Alice nodded and after some time of comforting they both decided to walk again going to Dawin's parents house which is near the main city.

After 20 minutes of walking the finally arrived at the prestigious complex and the guards who is guarding it, immediately recognizes the couple and bowed to them immediately.

Dawin comes near them and asked, "Are you all fine?"

"Yes sir, at the time of Typhoon, Mrs. Marquez directly informed us to stay at the vacant house as she gave us the keys."

Dawin nods and bid goodbyes to the guards.

In this prestigious complex the Marquez owns 5 houses, 1 is occupied by Dawin's parents, the second house is occupied by Pia and the three other houses, Mrs. Marquez just bought it as it was offered to her at a good price and of course Mr. Marquez couldn't go against her wife, or else.

When Dawin and Alice arrived at the house, they saw Mr. And Mrs. Marquez outside along side with Pia.

"Mom! Dad!" Dawin shouted.

"Dawin! Alice!" Pia shouted.

Mrs. Marquez fastly run to Dawin and Alice and hug the both of them tightly.

"Are you both fine? Did something happen? There was no one injured in you right?"

Lucas dragged her wife to the side and chuckled.

"Mom, we're both fine and at the time of the typhoon we're both staying in the house," Dawin said while glancing at Alice which was noticed by Pia.

"What a relief, like I was so worried when the signal was cut off and I couldn't contact the both of you like it was such a s**t," Mae was almost rambling and Alice laugh a little at her mother in law.

"Mom, we also need to go as we will visit the company we just came here to check on you three," Dawin said.

"Oh, yes son I'll come with you both," his dad said.

"Well why don't we all go as I also want to see what happened on the main city," Pia said and all of them agreed as it will be a relief if they are in one place.

After 25 minutes of walking and also inspecting the other establishments through their eyes finally they arrived in MQ Incorporation and they we're astonished to see some of the employees outside the building.

"Sir Dawin!" An employee shouted that makes the other employees looked to the side to see their CEO with his wife and family.

They also bowed to the Chairman, Mr. Marquez.

"Are you all fine, are you with your family's at the time of the typhoon?" Dawin asks with a hint of worries laced through his voice.

"Don't worry sir we are all fine and Sir at the time of the typhoon there were some employess who stayed at the building as they were working over time."

Alice widened her eyes and instantly asks, "Are they all fine? No one was injured right?"

"Fortunately ma'am this building is well built and that insured the safety of the employees who were working overnight."

Alice sigh in relief while Dawin just stared at her, he was amazed as Alice was worried on his employees even though she doesn't work in the building.

When Dawin looked in his side and found his parents and sister gone, only to see them talking to someone a little far from them.

"Sir if I may ask how will we going to work now?"

"For now I'll suspend our work and I will send you emails on the plan I'm gonna work at. And don't worry I talked to someone earlier and he told me that the signal will be back maybe later midnight."

The employees sigh in relief and after that they both thanked and bid goodbyes to Alice and Dawin as some of them will also check the other places affected by the typhoon.

"Um, Dawin can we go home now?" Alice asks hesitantly.

"What?" Dawin asks her, a little plainly though.

"Ah, if you want to stay here you can, I-i just want to go home, I wanna kay down in bed, I'm kinda dizzy."

Dawin widen his eyes a little.

"I'll come with you, I wanna also finish some documents that I still needed to sign."

Alice nodded and they both bid good bye to Pia and Mr. and Mrs. Marquez.

5 months have passed and everyone did move on from the severe typhoon, establishments have been open and school and work is back to normal again.

Alice is now back in her acting career and Dawin is also back on his job as the CEO.

Alice is now more careful when she is near Dawin, you know why?

Because after the typhoon Dawin is back on his cold personality again, for short, he is being a jerk again towards Alice.

He talks coldly, not like the typhoon times when he talks to Alice in normal way, now when he talks it is more like shouting and Alice did really tried her best to have patience towards Dawin.

They relationship? Well it's back to square one, Dawin who always told Alice that he will still seek his revenge for what she have done to him years ago.

Immature right?

Well that's what Alice, and Dawin's family think.

Dawin just can't seem to let go of the past and start a new life with Alice, every end of their talk there is he always saying that he is not done with her.

Alice on the other side, keep all the bad feelings in her self, she still didn't have any plans to tell Dawin the truth, even though for Her sometimes Dawin acts immature, but there is no way she will tell him everything from the pqst, as you all aware of the reason.

It is one afternoon and Dawin was just peacefully signing documents in his office when suddenly someone knocked on his wooden office door.

Dawin rolled his eyes.

"Come in."

Oliver entered his office with worried expression written all over his face.

"What's wrong?" Dawin asks, now all of his attention is in Oliver.

"Dawin, t-the new designs of Quez wear got stolen," Oliver says hesitantly.

Dawin widen his eyes and instantly slammed his fist on his wooden table.

"What?! Who the f**k did this?!"

"I still don't know, I just got the news five minutes ago and I hurriedly ran in to your office."

Dawin glared at him coldly and said, "find who ever f*****g did this, now!"

Oliver got shivers from his said best friend and instantly nods.

When Oliver went out from his office, he sigh tiredly, next week should be the launch of his new collection for the quez wear but guess he will make his designer team work over time again, just because of some stupid thief who stole the company's design.

Dawin called his secretary and told her to arrange a meeting instantly with the designer team.

When Dawin entered the meeting room, he was welcomed by the worried faces of his employees.

"I guess you all know what happened right?" Dawin asks them coldly.

"Sir, next week will be the new launching of Quez wear new collection what we will all gonna do now?"

"I'm sorry to say this but you need to work over time to make new designs, don't worry your salary would be doubled at that time, I just want you all to make a new unique design within 3 days as for the remaining days it'll be made by the clothing team, so we will have the time to get ready."

His team nods, as they have no choice but to follow their boss or else in the next day they will woke up with no more work anymore.

Alice was just recently done on her shooting for her new advertisement and now she is in home, specifically in the kitchen, staring at the refrigerator thinking on what will she going to cook as she was hungry.

She also doesn't have the mood to order take out as she thinks it is sometimes unhealthy and of course foods cooked from home is more delicious.

She also thought Dawin will not eat at home as most of the times Dawin is more likely stays on his office and will just eat dinner their, ordered from take out.

But she was all wrong from her thoughts when the Main door opened, revealing Dawin who is just glaring at nowhere and that makes Alice chuckle lightly, but not so lightly as it causes Dawin's attention to looked at her, well still glaring of course.

"Why are you chuckling at me?" Dawins said coldly.

"I'm not, and I'm watching some funny videos from my phone, your sometimes assuming," Alice said a little annoyed at Dawin. Well luckily she's holding her phone and let that thing became her excuse.

Dawin got a little embarrassed so he rolled his eyes as an answer and proceeds to walk upstairs, but Alice called him.

"What now?!"

"Um, did you eat dinner already?"

Dawin looked at her blankly before shaking his head as an answer.

Alice smiled a little.

"Maybe perhaps would you eat dinner with me?" Alice asks sheepishly.

Dawin just sighed but surprisingly he nods, and proceeds to go upstairs without saying anything.

Alice squealed a little and laugh after.

She started to cook dishes that is in reality a little to much because only two people will eat it.

But she doesn't care because she was excited to make foods for Dawin. Well she cooked for him before but Dawin unfortunately didn't know that so now that Dawin knows Alice made it, Alice maybe put a big effort, especially on making Dawin's favorite dish.

After a while, Dawin goes out in his room and went downstairs to witness Alice, setting up the dining table and Dawin widen his eyes when a delicious smell fill his nostrils.

'She cooked my Favorite dish.' Dawin thought.

When Alice noticed Dawin, who is just standing behind the stairs, smiled a little.

"Come on ket's eat while it's still warm," she said while gesturing Dawin to sit in front of her.

Dawin just rolled his eyes in annoyance, because he realize, Alice is acting good towards him today.

"What's with you today?" Dawin asks.

Alice looked at confusingly.

"Um, what?"

"Well your acting good towards me, did you perhaps put poison on my food?"

Alice understand what he meant so she just rolled her eyes.

"Nothing's wrong, and I didn't put poison in your food, well your just immature that's why," Alice says while she whispered the last part of her sentence.

Both started eating and Alice who noticed that Dawin's plate is almost out of rice so she unconciously grab the bowl of rice and instantly scooped it and put it into Dawin's plate who seems to be oviously shock by Alice's action.

When Alice realize on what she did, her eyes widen.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you need more rice."

Dawin sigh and shakes his head.

"No it's okay."

When both we're done eating, Dawin surprisingly offered to wash the dishes and Alice of course didn't argue and agreed instantly.

Well who wouldn't want to see the cold CEO of a prestigious company, wearing nightwear and apron while washing dishes, seriously.

Alice of course, took a picture of Dawin while laughing silently.

After a while, Dawin and Alice is now on their respective rooms and Alice is busy reading her scripts for her upcoming drama, while Dawin is also busy checking the deals his company needs to get.

Morning came and Dawin went early to his company as Oliver callef him early in the morning stating that they discovered the culprit who stole the design.

While Alice also went to her shooting place to start shooting for her new drama.

When Dawin arrived in the company, the employees greeted him as always, but today they we're a little scared as Dawin walks angrily going to the elevator.

Dawin arrived in his office to see Oliver outside and when Oliver saw Dawin, he smiled and greeted good morning which Dawin just nods.

Both entered the office.

"So who is it?" Dawin asks coldly.
