Runaway Alpha

I crouched behind a large rock in the forest behind our home, watching my prey carefully. She was small and cute, slightly chunky with hair the color of a perfect summer sunset, and big honey brown eyes. She was doing her best to be quiet as possible while scooting from tree to tree, peaking around them to see if she was being followed. She was so young, and vulnerable, I almost felt guilty about what was coming. Eventually she found a spot that she must have felt was suitable for hiding but lucky for me it was less than 4 steps from where I was watching her. I slowly left my hiding spot behind the rock, and using all of the stealth skills for hunting that I had been taught I crept up behind her, I reached out my hand and with one quick movement I grabbed her arm. "Tag you're it!" I yelled as I ran from my sister laughing, she growled in frustration and started to take chase after me. "Zander! I'm going to pummel you when I catch you" Sophia shouted as I left her behind, running as fast as I could to the flower pot or 'home base' at the back of the pack house, I could hear our older brother, Marcus, laughing in the background as he ran behind Sophia and picked her up, propping her on his shoulders firmly and saying "let's catch him together." Laughing even harder I pushed myself as hard as I could, I knew Marcus was much faster than me, being 2 years older and future Alpha of our pack he was naturally larger than I am, but he also has been training and running the perimeter with our father, his entire life. Seeing the flower pot ahead of me I willed my legs not to fail me but I could hear them gaining.
