Corinna's P.O.V

Adonis comes storming in, jolting me awake with only a dull pain now in my body - the healer's have worked miracles upon my body. His eyes are wild, his hair and beard ragged making him look insane as he strides towards me inhaling deeply and roaring, his body shaking with rage - a common occurrence throughout my healing.

His jealousy and possessiveness is consuming him completely and morphing into fury which in turn makes a sliver of fear wind up my spine, thoughts of what Tom did to me when angry seem like nothing compared to what I know Adonis, the strongest Alpha male known, could do to me in this enraged state.

"He has been here again!" he growls, golden eyes swirling with the blackened rage of his wolf "Yes." I respond, my voice steady juxtaposing the terrified feelings inside of me. "Tell me what he said Corinna, tell me or by the Moon-" he just finishes with an infuriated roar, his fists shattering the furniture in the room but he leaves a circle around me untouched by his rage.

His heavy breathing and shaking of his body to fight back his shift has me on edge, knowing what such intense anger can cause from an Alpha male but he seems to be in a craze, I am scared of him like this, my wolf cowering in my mind when she never submits to anyone - only to this male.

"The same as before" I tell him "Word for word, my female. What did that bastard say to you?" he seethes, I swallow and start to repeat the words Taeo had spoken just a couple minutes before Adonis came in. He's sly, sneaky; somehow Taeo manages to get in and out of my recovery room without being caught and killed by Adonis - he is narrowly escaping death with each visit he pays me but he still comes.

He's been coming everyday, sitting at my bedside and putting his hands on me when I cannot do anything as my body is in it's weak state of healing. I realised that he was the male I saw a year ago, the one who's nose I broke and his presence brought back earlier memories of our romance, of our love which was always one sided from him - the same case now.

"He came in and kissed me" I say, my voice cut off by an infuriated roar from Adonis, in seconds his form is stood looming over me, golden eyes staring into mine with a feral look. "Did you stop him?" he questions, a tremble to his jaw as he tries to be softer towards me, he tries to contain his rage for me "What can I do in this state Adonis? I am weak" I say, his hand cups my cheek as he blows out a breath to cam himself "I am not angry with you Corinna, know this. I know it's not you so do not fear me, even if you responded to him I wouldn't hurt you, I would never hurt you - you will never have to live in fear like you did with the human." he promises, I have to look away from the intensity and love shining in his eyes - the same eyes Taeo stares at me with but Taeo's do not appeal to me the way Adonis' do but I hate it, what he makes me feel.

He killed Tom - I cannot like him let alone love this male. Ever.

"Get off" I say, he doesn't. "You already broke that promise" I snap "I had to bathe you my female, I was helping you but I am sorry for causing you necessary pain" he says. He keeps his hand on my jaw, caressing the skin of my cheek and neck which is now completely healed "Your mother's healers are truly Moon blessed, you have returned to your natural beauty; you are perfect my female" he says, bringing his head down to nuzzle against my cheek which has my wolf purring within me, wanting me to give him the same affection but I don't.

"He told me he loves me and he asked me to runaway with him, to leave you because I can never love you" I say, he's silent - his anger is much scarier when he's silent I cannot read him as well. "Do not fear me, I can smell it coming off of you. I will never hurt you" he says, bringing his head back down inhaling everything with deep rumbles coming from his chest, his tongue drags from one side of my jaw to the other, over my lips and he forces his tongue into my mouth just like Taeo did. His tongue and teeth go over every part of my body that Taeo touched, replacing the scent with his whilst he gets angrier and angrier, his jaw starts to extend into a snout, his back arches as sounds of clothing being ripped starts but he pulls back control "I will kill him my female, I will protect you, no one touches you like this" he roars.

"He has been touching me like this for three weeks and he has escaped your wrath Adonis. You have already failed in protecting me" I say, my words make him pull back with a snarl pacing around the room and attacking the already ruined furniture - it makes me happy to see him like this, I am testing him to see if he will really leave me unharmed. I know males can never keep their promises.

"What kind of Alpha male allows his female to be violated like that? A weak one" I spit, letting my disgust for him leak out of my voice.

He's a vision of fury, roars of unfiltered rage leaving his huge form as he storms off to kill his prey like the true predator he is.

My father's voice to Adonis can be heard as he let's his own rage known but I sense Adonis leaving, ignoring my father's words. He comes up, knocking on my door and enters, closing the door behind him and coming towards me. "Did he hurt you my pup?" he asks, his eyes scanning over me for any signs of damage "No." I respond, he nods taking a seat beside me and grasping hold of my hand. A growl tumbles out of me, hating anyone touching me. His eyes look to mine showing me his hurt, his regret, his guilt and sorrow.

"I am sorry my sweet Corinna, I was wrong to ever hurt you. I am sorry" he says, his eyes brimming with tears not like the old Alpha I used to know or my old father - he would never cry. But I feel he has cried so much, too much since that day. "You had to do it Papa, I understand and I forgive you" I tell him a tear slips from his eyes as I call him by the name I only used when I was a lot younger - it feels right. I feel sorry for him, for my father as I know he's been suffering with guilt over these years and he's had to endure the hatred from his own mate - he's suffered enough.

"I do not deserve your forgiveness, my pup. Your mother is right, it is my duty to protect you not hurt you, I am sorry you've been cursed with me for a father" he says "Get out of here Lucian! How dare you touch her!" my mother's angry screams weigh down my father's shoulders, with his head down and tears streaming from his eyes he leaves.

"I'll make sure he doesn't come near you again, my pup" she says, smoothing back my hair and kissing my cheek - her behaviour towards me is completely opposite; it's filled with love but to my father she only shows him hatred.

"I forgive him, you should too" I tell her which has her hand freezing on my cheek, pain flashes through her eyes "I cannot. He betrayed both of us that day. He always promised me he would only ever love and protect our pups - I cannot forgive him for breaking that promise" she says, sitting down as if just saying this tires her. "He was protecting me from myself. He made me realise I was wrong, he was trying to show me the mistake I was making - but I was too stubborn and in love to learn from him, he was showing me what would happen to me; I would get hurt whether it was by the council or packs for finding out about me and Tom or by Tom himself. But because Papa loves me he only showed me the lesser pain" I say

"I have lost the man I love mom, don't let the same happen to you. You deserve to be happy, both of you do after all your suffering over the years from being apart. I would give anything to have Tom back, the man I love - you have yours right in front of you, a good male who loves you and would do anything for you so do not take him for granted, be with him."

She smiles, patting my cheek fondly as she nuzzles the other cheek "I will try my pup" she promises pulling back to look at me with tears pooling in her eyes "When did you grow up and become so wise? By the Moon, you are a fully grown female now. I am proud of you Corinna" she says, standing "Now, I'll let you rest and I need to talk to your father now. But my pup, perhaps you should listen to your own words - there is a good male who loves you and would do anything for you, right in front of you so don't take your true male for granted" she says giving me a pointed look as she leaves me to dwell over her words.

...

A few hours later

"Just let me carry you Corinna, my brother wouldn't like to see you hobbling in pain" Arion says, the youngest of Adonis' siblings at 18. He's got his hands hovering in front and behind me to catch me if I sway either way as I grope against the wall of the corridor trying to walk so I can escape the confines of my room that I've been kept in for weeks.

I stumble and instantly Arion supports me, holding me up but his touch makes me growl "Your brother wouldn't like to see you touching me either so leave me alone" I snarl, having to pause and pant against the wall. "I am helping you, he will understand" he responds but a hint of doubt for his own words filters through.

"If she doesn't want help, leave her" Atlas says, his form taunting me as he leans against the wall by the top of the stairs - where I need to be. "She is Adonis' female we cannot leave her to crawl downstairs whilst she suffers" Arion retorts. My hand attempts to push myself off of the floor but I quickly crumble, my legs giving way and I land with a hard thump on the floor a pathetic whimper leaving me.

"Will you accept my help now?" Arion chuckles, looking down at me laying on the floor "f**k off" I growl but he ignores me - it seems none of these males apart from Atlas actually listen to people's wants. He picks me up making me wriggle in his arms as I try to push away from him but he isn't affected and carries me down the hallway and stairs with Atlas rolling his eyes at us.

"What are you doing out of bed Corinna? You should be resting" Selia tsks "I am fine" I respond, pushing at Arion's chest so he will put me down but he still doesn't "Where are my family?" I question only seeing Nolan sat at the table with Apollo, Atlas and Selia. "They are at the clinic, Isla went into labour just before noon" Selia tells me with a wide smile on her face "What a blessing, I cannot wait until we have our grandpups" she says to Nolan who clasps onto her hand bringing the back to his lips and pressing a tender kiss "Do not get ahead of yourself just yet my female" he responds.

"Where is Adonis? I want to eat" Arion complains, carrying me with him to look out the window "I'm sure he will be here soon Arion" his mother says "Corinna would you like more of my soup or do you think you could stomach something heavier - have some roasted pork with u-"

She's cut off by Adonis storming into the house, everyone ceases all movement when we see him; his nakedness covered in blood that by the scent of it is not his own, his mouth having blood smeared around it and dripping from the corner, in each hand he has parts of Taeo's body - I can only tell this by the severed head of Taeo that Adonis holds it looks as if he tore it off with his bare hands then proceeded to tear Taeo limb from limb before he ravaged the remains in both human and wolf form most likely.

His golden eyes look hazy as if all he is feeling is blood-lust fueled by his intense jealousy and possessiveness - it's controlling him and driving him mad. He throws the limbs onto the floor but throws the head so it hits the wall directly beside me and Arion but then his body ripples with anger, a roar ripping form his throat as Arion fumbles to put me down, stepping as far away from me as possible "Brother, I was only helping her" he says, a tremble to his voice as his eyes dart to Taeo's dismembered body scattered around the room. Selia is quick to put her arms around my weak form and she brings me away, shielding us behind her male.

In seconds Adonis has launched himself at Arion, they smash through the window and as soon as they're on the ground Adonis repeatedly slams his fists into Arion. The breaking of bones can be heard from in here along with Arion's grunts and whimpers of pain but Adonis' enraged growls overpower all the sounds.

He's up, leaving his brother beaten to a pulp on the ground in a pool of his blood and he reenter the house removing me from his mother's embrace. "Is this what you wanted my female?" he snarls, gripping the back of my neck so I'm forced to look into his wild eyes "You are mine Corinna, you belong to me and any male that touches you will receive my wrath" he promises, bringing my face against his chest as he nuzzles into my neck "I will never let you go" he says.

I have to wrench my face from his chest, coughing as his chest is covered with Taeo's blood and now it's smeared onto my face "You're insane"
