|A few weeks later|

The gift my father got me for graduation was an apartment and I was so thankful because I was ready to move out on my own.

My business has been going good and Yara has been helping me ship things out. And as far as Kairo we talk here and there I would like to say we were getting somewhere but you never really know with him.

"So have you thought about getting your business license and opening up a*****e". Yara asked placing shipment stickers on packages.

"Kairo gave me the idea and I started on it like a week ago". I said putting some business cards in packages I already packed.

"Y'all should just date at this point he's always over over here when I come and y'all are always on the phone". She said causing me to gasp.

"Girl you're lying you just always coming over here when he's here".I said and she shook her head as I laughed.

"You like him".She stated more that asked.

"I mean yeah he's a nice guy once you get to know him". I said with a shrug and she squealed.

"I f*****g knew it and honestly you guys would be cute together". She said causing me to look over at her.

"Do you really think so". I ask tilting my head to the side.

"Yeah I feel like you were meant for him". She said with a shrug.

I didn't really think about it like that.

I haven't really dated anybody before but I want to make Oaklynn my girl. I'm not really nervous or anything because if she say yes then it is what it is and if she say no then that's cool too.

I don't really got much money so I had to plan the date out carefully so I could have enough to get her what I wanted and still make it a good experience for her.

Pulling out my phone I go to her contact and press it letting it ring.

"Hello". She said as soon as the call connected.

"Can I take you out on a date today". I ask and the lone went silent for a minute.

"Never mind forget I even said anything". I said about to hang up.

"No no wait I would love to what time". She asked stopping me.

"It's 1 now so I'll be over at 2:30". I said putting my clothes on since I just got out the shower.

"Okay I'll be ready". She said and I heard screaming before she hung up causing me to shake my head.

I guess I'll smoke a blunt before I go over there.

|1 hour later|

She called and told me she was ready and she was early but I didn't mind so I got in my car and headed over there.

When I pulled up she came out getting in the car smiling before giving me a hug.

"So where are you taking me". She asked putting her seatbelt on.

"It's a surprise sit back and relax". I said turning the raido up.

|30 minutes later|

I pulled up to this secret lake that I found a while back and we get out.

"This is beautiful". She said looking around before looking at me with a smile as I got the things out of the car.

"I brought your favorite subway sandwich and chips with a drink".I said and she jumped up and down hugging me.

"I've been craving that for about three days now thank you". She said as we took a seat on the blanket I laid out.

"So how have you been". She asked unwrapping her sandwich.

"I've been hanging in there how about you". I say looking over at her.

"Pretty good my business is going great thank you for giving me the idea for getting my business license ". She said before taking a bite of her sandwich.

"It was no problem". I said and we continued to talk as she ate.

|1 hr later|

It was winding down to night time so I had to put my plan into action.

"Oaklynn". I say calling her name and she looked over at me.

"I ain't never did no s**t like this so bear with me". I said causing her to laugh a little.

"Will you be my girl". I ask and she just looked at me.

"Yes". She said smiling from ear to ear.

"Yes". I ask making sure I heard her correctly.

"YES". She yelled jumping on my wrapping her arms and legs around me.

"I got something for you". I said pulling the box out of my pocket.

I open it and there it was a 14k gold necklace.

"I know it's not much but that's the best I could do". I said with a shrug and she shook her head.

"No no no it's beautiful and I love it". She said tearing up.

She turned around and I took it out the box putting it around her neck. After it was on she looked down at it.

"I really appreciate everything you did tonight I really enjoy myself today". She said and I give her a small smile.

"It was nothing but let's go I got to get you home before your parents go crazy". I said standing up helping her up.

Grabbing everything I take it back to the car before we get in.

"Kairo". She called out and I looked over only to feel her soft lips against mines.

"That's all I wanted". She said smiling before sitting back.

Starting up the car I pull off.

This is the first time I can actually say I was a little bit happy...
