Chapter 6

Staring at the blade in my hand I Play with it as I listened to Joyner Lucas.

"Cause I've never been happy with myself and I don't need no one feeling bad for me trying to offer me pity and throw jabs at me wanna give me advice and then laugh at me behind closed doors just close the door, let me be by myself just me and myself".I rapped along cutting into my wrist.

"But I'm depressed as f**k, stressed as f**k ain't no medicine that could cure what's the test as drugs

I mean, I need extra love and that ain't even enough

'said that ain't even enough and where the f**k is God?".I continued to rap watching the blood drip down my arm.

Laying my head back on the bed I close my eyes.

~Flashback~

"Reggie come get your son". My mother said smiling at me.

"Why he got to be my son when he doing something bad". My dad said laughing coming from the kitchen.

"Because he don't get that from me". She said causing us all to laugh.

"You being bad". My dad asked rubbing my head.

"No". I said shaking my head with a smile.

"You know what we do to liars right". He asked staring at me.

"No what". I ask looking between him and my mom.

"We tickle them until we get the truth". He said before he started chasing me.

My mom got off the couch blocking me so that my dad could catch me.

Turning around to run the other way I was picked up and being tickled.

"Okay okay I was being bad". I said as my mom joined in on tickling me.

We all sit on the couch breathing heavily in silence.

~Flashback over~

A knock on the door brought me out of my thoughts.

"Aye man come on we got to get to school".Dakari said and I open my eyes.

"Alright". I said turning the music off and standing up.

Grabbing a towel I wipe the blood off the floor before hiding the blade. Walking into the bathroom I run cold water over the cut before drying it and putting a bandaid over it.

Walking out of the bathroom I grab my backpack and walk out of my room.

"Today's your parents anniversary what are you going to do". Dakari said looking up from his phone.

"Same thing I do every year". I said and before I could walk out he stopped me.

"Let me talk to you a minute Ro". He said and I walked over taking a seat beside him.

"You know you can talk to me about anything right". He said and I nod.

"So if you don't have anyone to come to I'm always here we was Bestfriend's when we were younger hell I still consider us Bestfriend's now". He said with a small laugh causing me to laugh a little.

"I know man and I appreciate that but look I got to go". I said standing up and he did the same dapping me up.

Walking out of the house I start walking to school.

|20 minutes later|

Walking inside I make my way to my locker and see somebody spray painted p***y across it.

"Hey Ro". I heard somebody say from behind me.

Turning around I see Oaklynn smiling holding flowers and a bear.

"Wassup". I ask leaning against my locker.

"So I got you a bear". She said handing it to me.

"And these flowers are for your mom and dad I made sure to get your mother her favorites". She said handing them to me.

"Why you doing all this". I ask placing the bear and flowers in my locker.

"Because I know how much your parents mean to you". She said with a shrug and I nod closing my locker.

"I really appreciate it but look I got to get to class". I said and she nodded.

"Alright I'll talk to you later". She said giving me a hug before walking away.

Shaking my head I head to my first period class.

|End of day|

After I got the flowers and bear out of my locker I went to this spot my parents always took me to when I was younger.

Walking in I take a seat and the owner walks over.

"The usual". He asked and I nodded my head.

I've been ordering the same thing since I was 8 years old.

"Spaghetti bolognese with a cucumber salad and a sprite". He said placing the food in front of me.

I prayed before I started eating. Looking over I see a little boy and his parents eating.

He had spaghetti sauce all over his face causing them all to laugh. Smiling I look away and continue to eat.

It was like looking back at myself when I was younger.

If only I could go back...
