17. Into the Royal Pack

Randal POV:

Alice made her way with Liam into Atlas’ office where we were all waiting for her.

“My baby girl, you look stunning”, I told her and she hugged me.

The Kings were all speechless, they knew better than to say something inappropriate and face Liam’s and my fury, but of course, they admired her.

No other woman’s beauty could compare to my daughter’s, I’m sure of it.

“It’s about time, let’s go and please, don’t you do anything reckless, Alice”, I told her again.

She might be tired of listening to it from Liam and I, over and over again, but we’d be doomed and out of control if something we weren’t expecting happened to her.

Henry and I had been having this meeting with the Kings for a couple of days now and we were planning and bringing up any unexpected situation and each of us gave our point of view of everything that was happening.

Our minds working together is way better than a single one.

We had to be prepared for anything. We’re facing a threat against the Realms. Even beyond that, there was a threat against my daughter.

Alice wouldn’t disguise her scent, they got to know what she was so we could call some attention back to us.

We would hope that the Sixforce would act there to catch them and if they didn’t, Alice would get all the attention and distract them and Liam would use the invisibility rune and investigate the castle looking for any evidence or hint of King Conri’s whereabouts, as Elliot would take a look at the usurper King, guarantying that he was nowhere around his room or wherever we would be investigating at.

I wouldn’t mind-link the royal service, we would make it there with her by surprise.

We flashed in a forest near the Royal Pack’s gate. Henry was with us to attend the meeting.

Alice had her arms wrapped up in mine and we nodded at the Kings making our way inside the castle. As soon as we got there, many heads turned to stare at us and Alice, most of them had a frowning face.

Nobody was expecting me to come in with my daughter at all. In fact, they didn’t even know she was my daughter.

We took our seat and Alpha Mueller from the Silver Moon Pack stared a little bit more than the others.

“Randall, this place is for Alphas and Betas’, you shouldn’t have brought your mistress here” he mocked, grinning, and I growled.

I'd have said something but the usurper King came in, he stared at every single one of us and his eyebrows rose when his gaze met Alice.

“Welcome to the Royal Pack’s Meeting once again, I can see new faces around here” he was telling us all, politely, looking at each Alpha, and he said the last part looking at me.

“Randall, you shall introduce the lady, please” the usurper said expressionless.

“Your Highness, this is my daughter Alice. As you know, her mother was killed by poison 20 years ago. I was afraid for her safety and kept her hidden until now. I’m afraid I have some new information to share with you all. Alice’s mother was a witch”, I said firmly.

Everybody was frowning and gulping hard.

“Hold on, how can this be? Does it mean that this girl is a Hybrid?” Alpha George from Green Forest Pack asked, sounding very interested.

“That’s right, we had blocked her powers to keep her safe, but now she has fully released it” I told them all.

Alice’s face was expressionless.

“It is very pleasant to meet you, Alice, please, you must feel welcomed to this castle and enjoy your stay” the usurper King said, and Alice stood up.

“Thank you so much, Your Highness”, she said, and she turned to glare at the Alphas on the table.

“My name is Alice and I’m Alpha Randall’s daughter. I’m a Hybrid, I’m a wolf with a very high sense of things and I also have magic, so as my wolf, I’m here to introduce myself because I believe I can be useful as a weapon and to defend our Realm”, Alice said, trying to get some more attention back at her.

“Excuse me, darling, we appreciate it, but let me ask you something. You’re mated, we all can clearly see your purple mark shining like a gemstone, what kind of mark is that and who’s your mate?” Alpha Mueller said with his fingers on his chin, his gaze had some amusement. He couldn’t let anything escape from his eyes.

Alice gulped hard.

Alice POV:

Damn it, I totally forgot to cover my mark and now there’s an Alpha asking me about it. I was nervous but I tried to remain as calm as possible in a room with all the Alphas gathered. I couldn’t make any sort of mistake or else they would notice it.

“Alpha, forgive me, but I’m here to introduce myself and offer my powers to the Royal Army so they can make good use of them for our Realm. You will meet him occasionally, I’m sure of that. For now, I would like to stick to the urgent and important matters for our Packs' interest” I tried to reason hoping it would work.

“Oh, of course, my darling, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to pry” he said, but the amusement in his eyes remained, he surely also didn’t mean any of those words.

“Hello Alice and Alpha Randall, I’m Alpha Stephen Pennington from the White Forest Pack. I would like to say that I’m very impressed and I hope we can make good use of your powers, but I also have to say, as a father, our pup’s safety means everything. You shouldn’t throw yourself in front of the battle line, doesn’t matter how good your intentions are” he said, and I was impressed. There were also very good-hearted Alphas in this room as well. I noticed the usurper King staring at the Omega who was waiting to serve everyone, he was mind-linking her.

“I’m Conan Beorhtwulf from the Shadow Pack. Nice to meet you Alice. Randall, I agree with Alpha Stephen, even though I’m just 20 years old and my parents passed away so soon, I’m sure that no one’s daughter should be put at any sort of risk. Especially a Hybrid. It’s too dangerous. Soon enough, there will be a lot of awful beings trying to kidnap or even kill her. We can’t let this happen, we have to take good care of our kind and this realm together” Alpha Conan is a handsome young boy and I could see how much he suffered in his life through his eyes.

“I agree with you, Alpha Stephen and Alpha Conan, thank you for the words, but unfortunately, it's her decision to choose” my dad said.

“ OK, enough with the heavy. I would like to trade some words with you later, Alpha Randall and Alice, but now, we’ll serve you all some sweets this time. Feel free to walk around the free areas of the castle and we’ll be back in a few minutes” he said, and stood up.

‘What? No Wolfcraig today?’ I thought to myself.

I glared at Henry and my father, they were mind-linking each other.

The king was about to leave. Oh no, I have to do something.

I hurriedly made my way to the usurper King. I shouldn’t let him go anywhere out of my sight.

He's the key piece we needed to find Conri.

“King Conri, can we talk now? I’m just looking forward to being useful. Maybe I can show you some of my powers now?” I asked him and he looked at me interested.

“Alice, that would be wonderful, but not here with a room full of hungry Alphas. Come with me, your dad can wait here with the others” he said, and I mind-linked my dad telling him about it and he looked at me concerned.

“Princess, what the hell are you doing?” Liam mind-linked me.

“I couldn’t let him out of my sight, he was about to leave and I told him that I wanted to make myself useful and asked him to see some of my powers”. I replied to Liam, I could feel how worried he was.

“Not necessary, we just took a look around and we found nothing. Get out of there now” he pleaded to me.

I knew how pissed they would be, but right now, I didn’t even care.

That was the chance I was waiting for and I wouldn’t waste it. I didn’t reply to Liam and when we were on a training field, the usurper turned to face me.

“Feeling lucky, aren’t you?” The usurper asked me.

“He will do something at us”, Hope said in my mind.

“Not at all, Your Highness, I just want to be useful to our realm”, I continued my role.

“Oh, you will be more than you imagine” he said with a mischievous grin, and I felt something hit my head and I went unconscious.

Randall POV:

“Alice?” nothing…

“Alice? Answer me” nothing again.

“Alice’s gone, f**k” I told Henry.

We ran as fast as we could, sniffing her scent all around the room and the hall until we got into the training field and took a lungful of her scent.

It’s still strong and fresh, she was just here.

“Alpha Randall”, I heard Alpha Stephen and Alpha Conan calling me.

“f**k, she’s gone…I knew I shouldn’t let her go with him” I said more to myself.

The Alphas stared at each other.

“So, it seems that our intuition was right, there was something wrong with King Conri” Alpha Conan said.

“Nobody could change that much overnight, the Wolfscraig was indeed poisoning everybody” Alpha Stephen said with his finger on his chin.

“Wait, you knew it? So, weren’t you drinking it either?” Henry asked them and I was desperate for my daughter.

They shook their heads.

“Look ladies, as fun as it all seems, I need to find my daughter because that fucker just took her away” I almost shouted at them.

The Kings made their way to where I was. Great, a whole show for everyone now at the Royal Castle.

“Randall, Alice’s gone, I can’t reach her through mind-link, damn it, I knew it was a bad idea after all”, Liam said through gritted teeth. His body smoked slightly.

“Calm down, we have to trust her, she probably knew something was going to happen, we had to find a way or something to track her” King Werloth said.

Alpha Stephen and Alpha Conan frowned, Henry explained to them everything, we knew we could trust them, they’d always been great Alphas.

“That’s a lot to take. We can’t lie to the Alphas, they have to know that our Realm is on an emergency alert so they can take all the caution needed to protect themselves and their Pack. We will go back to the meeting room and talk to them. Meanwhile, you should find a way to get to your daughter. We will be taking care of the Royal Pack and find our King”. Alpha Conan said to me and Alpha Stephen nodded.

Conan had to become an Alpha at such a young age. As soon as he turned 18, he was the youngest boy who ever took the Alpha position, his parents died in a rogue attack and Conan was doing a great job in his Pack.

As soon as they left with Henry, King Atlas put his hand on my shoulder in reassurance.

“I will cast a track spell to reach her. Don’t worry, we will find her” he said.

I nodded, I’m sure we would, not even if I had to cross all over the realms and the dimensions.

“f**k, I’m going to kill this man who took her” Liam mumbled, trying to get a hold on himself whilst smoke was leaving his body.

King Werloth suddenly stared at something on the floor with a frowning face. He got closer and took a thick stick from the floor, he froze for a second and turned himself to face us with a smile on his face.

“I saw her, someone used this stick to get Alice unconscious and he wanted to get her into Earth-1.O in the multiverse, I guess that’s where they hid their dungeon. Conri must be there too” Werloth said, surprising me.

“King Werloth, thanks” I simply said to him and he replied with a friendly nod.

“Wait, I will get some runes with me. We don’t know what could possibly have been done there. We also don’t know if this place is as dense as the Human Realm, any magic and our energy won’t falter, but maybe we will have to make a greater effort than we necessarily do and we have to be prepared for anything and we shouldn’t waste any adrift energy” Liam said and they all nodded at him.

We all flashed to the Human Realm, Atlas flashed me with him and we made our way straight to Liam’s Office.

Kathlyn and Prospero were there waiting for us.

“Please, be careful, we wanted to go too, but Liam asked us to stay here and keep the mansion safe”, Prospero said.

“We’re very worried about Alice, I really hope she’s fine. Please bring our Queen back to us”, Kathlyn said, and I frowned.

Alice was going to be the Dragon's Queen. f**k, my daughter was really intended to be part of something important.

Liam waved his hands and some drawers opened themselves and some flowing lights were levitating their way to his table. It looked like the lights were spinning around something small. As soon as the flowing lights reached the table, the lights vanished and some gemstones were becoming solid right before our eyes.

So that was the so-called runes. They were way prettier than I thought and seemed to have written some sort of a symbol into them.

“I mined the gemstones in the Human Realm. I took my time with my clan making each one of them. In the Poetic Edda, it says that:

"All the Volvas are

from Vidolf;

all the vitki

from Vilmeidr,

all the seiðrfolk

from Svarthöfdi;

all the Jötuns

come from Ymir" ". Liam chuckled.

"We just let them be. It's a beautiful poem. But even back in our realm, the Dragons had been working on runes and sometimes fighting with the Nordic people ever since forever, the runes came to their most powerful and perfect state. Only 5 types of gemstones are considered the cardinal gems here: amethyst, diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire. Gemstones generally take more than millions of years to form in nature in the Human Realm, so only a fraction of them could be discovered and extracted. Those raw gemstones have the Earth’s core of life on them. That’s why the runes came to be so powerful, different from our Realm that the Core of Life is safe on the Elves and Fae Realm but fatal placed in the nature. If those runes work perfectly here, they will work in any other place in the multiverse. Those symbols are the Furthark alphabet”, Liam said, and we all stared at it in awe. In fact, the Earth from the human dimension was powerful indeed.

“We’re part human as well, we have feelings, we reproduce like them and breathe the same air to live, most of them look a lot like us, they are really intriguing to us, as much as we might be to them if they knew about us” Werloth said.

Our Realms are also on the same Earth, but another dimension of it, the higher dimension on Earth, lands in the Astral Plane close to Asgard and above it on this constellation, the Olympus.

“So, how are we going to do it? Only Werloth knows the location. Wouldn’t it be too much for him?" I asked.

“It’s fine, actually I saw the location and it’s enough for me. I can’t send the location to the others because I can’t direct them to it, but I can make it there myself and I’m stronger than you think, Randall" he said, smiling.

"I'm an Elf, which means that our energies come naturally from us, like the Faeries. We don’t waste our energy because we are energy and magic itself. That’s why we, along with the Faes, are the only creatures that can freely touch the Core of Life. We can’t dive within though. That would be fatal for any creature, there’s just too much power from it”. Werloth said, and King Philip just nodded.

I was relieved we could all go save my daughter.

“This is very important, we should all touch Werloth directly and he will flash us there” Liam said, adjusting the last rune on his bag “are you all ready?”

“Yes” we all said in unison.
