Daria’s POV
Look, there was Natalie.
She screamed, "What are you doing here, Maya?" "Walk away!"
Before scooping up her satchel and leaving, Maya shot me one final knowing look.
As soon as Maya was out of sight, Natalie murmured, her eyes glimmering, "Alpha will be sending you to the Veil." "Pick up anything you own. We're going to transport you to Alpha's estate tomorrow so the Lycans can take control of you." Natalie snorted and gave me a sidelong glance.
Shutting the door behind her, she walked out. The lock clicked, and I heard it. I was worn out. I slouched on the bed, detesting my existence, my mother's departure, and my father's lack of concern for me. But my companion, Zack, was the one I detested the most.
I held that pose for a considerable amount of time until my stomach complained. It was midnight when I woke up. I hauled myself to the loo, still feeling empty inside. After washing my face, I returned. No matter what, I was going to get out.
I securely tied my bag and packed the final set of clothes. I turned to glance around, trying to remember what I had left behind. I didn't own an excessive amount of stuff. I had half of my bag empty. My father would shatter my belongings in his angry outbursts, so I was never without too many. Still, I stored most of my paperwork on my phone.
I waited for Maya while sitting on my bed. It was incredibly vital that Maya give me cash because I didn't have any with me.
I waited for one hour, then two, three, and four hours. Maya did not show up. I was getting restless at three in the morning. I peered out my window, hoping to see through the glass to find Maya, but she was nowhere to be seen. I peered around the backyard. I had no idea when I had fallen asleep.
With a tremendous bang, the room's door suddenly opened. With a start, I snapped my eyes wide and quickly sat up. Natalie was akimbo, standing next to my bed.
"Awaken, you moron!" She swore at me. "We need to get you dressed up and head over to the Alpha's house."
I opened my window to see the brilliant sun filtering through, and I realised that I had slept for a long time. It was after breakfast.
Natalie forced me to wear something akin to a wedding gown.
"This was delivered to you from the Alpha's residence. Natalie said, "It's custoAria for the offering to wear it.
I saw Chloe's reflection in the mirror, and she observed me with utter disdain and jealousy. Natalie had never touched me before, other than to beat me, but today she was getting me all dolled up for the occasion.
"Well done!" she whispered.
Why am I? As Natalie put a blue hue on my eyes, I asked her.
Natasha laughed. "Because a pure and willing person is supposed to make the sacrifice."
I said, "But I'm not willing," as a knot of nervousness began to form in my chest.
"It is irrelevant. You are on board, since it's a choice between this and the dungeons," I said, closing my work. "You have to welcome and accept the Lycan when he appears. You will be sent to the dungeons, where you will spend the remainder of your life, if he rejects you."
I embellished my flower corsage with jingle bells. With every step I took outside my house, they chimed, chanting the melody of my doom. The Lycan was going to meet me.
My father replied, "The drive is going to take about an hour," as I pulled my long dress up and slid into the backseat. I was terrified that my complexion was matching the colour of my outfit. Alongside me, Chloe also climbed.
"Do you have your bag ready?" With his blue eyes finding mine in the mirror, Tyler questioned me.
Even though I had my father's eyes, he didn't see me as his daughter when he looked at me with his. Instead, he saw me as his greatest error and an abomination.
I muttered, "I have it," in response.
He glared at me and said, "I hope you have everything in it."
"Yes," I replied, holding onto my purse.
"Well, I hope you're accepted by the Lycan. You are not going to return to us if he doesn't."
Natalie yelled, "I just can't wait for her to get out of our house."
In a desperate attempt to escape, I asked my father, "Is it okay if I go to ****-in the human town? Please?
Tyler seized my throat in a flash of horror. I gasped and coughed as he violently shook me. It took Natalie's might to get his hands off my throat.
Tyler, what are you doing?
