Chapter 2

*ALICE’S POV*

“Missy Longheart, Do you understand what will happen if you do not have a mate by the time graduation comes?’’ I ask her and she nods “good now you may be seated” she sits “Caleb Longheart! Please stand up.” He stands “I wish for you to be my beta once it is time do you accept?” I ask.

“Yes your grace I proudly accept becoming your beta when it is time and I shall Protect you and the pack with my body, heart and soul.” He says to me with a straight face but I can tell he was shocked at the out come of thing as he wasn’t supposed to become beta until I had a child and they become alpha but seeing how his sister decided to act and treat me for so many years I knew he would be the one to become beta. Plus Missy has been going around saying she’s going to become my beta but she wouldn’t know what to do or make the packs life a living hell.

“Also Alex?” I say as he looks at me “I wish to throw a celebration for us together and invite your pack to come and celebrate with us here if thats okay with you?” I asked.

“Yes I believe thats a great idea Alice I will call my dad afterwards and let him know the news.” He said.

“Thank you Alex I can’t wait to celebrate us coming of age.” I said to him “I would like to address one more thing before we end the meeting. For those who do not believe i will go through on my word about Missy please keep this in mind. Anyone who disrespects another pack or pack member will be banished from the Blood Moon pack and anyone caught speaking to the ones are banished will also be banished.”

Everyone just stayed quiet and then my mom decided to speak.

“I know this may seem shocking but we ALL know the pack rules. Missy Longheart has broken the main rule and she must be punished. If not then what will she learn. And Mrs. Longheart I do not ever want to hear you plead for her again when she has broken our rules those who go unpunished will not learn from their mistakes.” She said.

“Mom! Stop it” I tell her “a mother pleading for their child is not a crime here you know that and besides Missy will learn her lesson trust me on that!” I tell her.

“ Alice, you know as much as we do she will not learn her lesson!” My mom says to me as she looks towards Missy.

“Missy will learn her lesson mother!” I yell to her when she looked at with wide eyes shocked at the fact I yelled at her in front of the entire pack.

“Alice Eloise-Rose Moon I am your mother and your Luna how dare you yell at me!” She said with anger in her voice.

“And I’m your next alpha and my fathers child and you mother are breaking a pack rule by doubting your alpha or soon to be alphas words.That’s punishable by death and you know it!” I say to her with the same tone of voice she gave me.

“You wouldn’t dare!” She cried.

“I would and will if you dare doubt my words again dad might not be here but he leaves me in charge when he’s away to learn how to become a good alpha for the pack so you can not like my words but you have to respect them.” I tell her “Now, I want to address the training times we have which as we can tell aren’t working out for us so I’ve decided that instead of us going and training when we feel like we need we will for now on have two different training schedules morning for the adults and night for the teens and others aren’t able to come to the morning training session. And with that it will be mandatory for everyone our beta Blaine will assign each pack member their training schedule base around there jobs/schooling and Missy until graduation you are my sparing partner.” I say to her with a grin on my face.

“What! I don’t fight though!” Missy yelled out.

“You what!” Blaine said to his daughter “Missy how on earth did you ever believe you would become beta if you don’t fight?”

“Mom said she help me become beta without going throw the trial.” She cried.

“I-I never said that my love I swear!” Missy’s mom said to Blaine.

“ENOUGH! Missy you and your children are to never become future betas I might not be alpha but as the Blood Moons beta I will forbid you and your children to ever become betas for our pack for as long as I live!” Blaine said to his daughter with tears failing from her face.

“But daddy..” Missy cried.

Blaine stands and puts his hand across his cheats and bows down to me “Alpha Alice if it’s okay with you I would to humbly apologize for my mate and daughters behavior and wish to dismiss them before they can start anymore outrageous acts.” He stands there waiting for my answer feeling ashamed in how his mate and daughter acted towards the pack.

“Yes they are dismissed Mr. Longheart and please you don’t have to apologize as Missy would still have to do the trial regardless on what your mate might have said to Missy as every beta has done it to prove their honor to the packs new alpha and Missy would not passed.” I tell him.

Missy and her mom stands and bows towards me before leaving the pack house heading home and we close up the meeting.

*BLAINE’S POV*

I watched as my mate and oldest daughter leaves the pack house as we continued on with the meeting.

It feels minutes have went by when I started heading towards alpha Mikes office to speak with Alpha Alice.

And I know I don’t have to her alpha as she’s not yet the new alpha but it’s out of respect for her and her family and besides after what happens today not only at school but also here! I’m front of the whole pack! Those girls have lost their damn minds if they think they’re going to get away with this.

As I reach the office I knock when I hear Alpha Alice say come in.

“Mr. Longheart, You wanted to speak with me?” Alpha Alice said to me.

“Yes, and again I’m humbled for you taking the time to speak with me.” I said to her.

“Mr. Longheart you are my dads best friend and his beta and my uncle and I know you wouldn’t wish to speak with me in private unless it was important.” She said to me.

“Yes ma’am, its about Caleb and Missy..I know Missy isn’t the nicest wolf in our pack but I promise her actions today will not go unpunished. She not only disrespected our future alpha but also another packs future alpha at that and in our family that does not go unpunished.” I say to her “As for her role on becoming a beta I wish for her and her child may carry to never become a beta for her mistakes and for Caleb we are honored you choose him to become your new beta bless you for as long as you may live. He will start training for the trial early tomorrow morning.”

“Good he’ll need all the training he can get because his trial is different from what Missy’s would’ve been.” She said to me.

“What do you mean my grace?” I ask shocked by her response.

“Everyone has their own trials lined out for them in case they shall become beta. In which Missy’s would appear to be child’s play to you in which her case is quite the opposite for her. But now Caleb growing up with him and seeing the pride he takes in for his family and his line of betas i knew he would be the one I wish to become my beta.” She explained to me better.

“Oh I see your grace you’ve had your beta picked out from the start, along knowing the next in line will fail their trial.” I said to her.

“Indeed I have and I do not regret my decision either and you have nothing to worry with your family they will not be punished nor will your mate be banished as shes not in my generation but for Missy, shes another story but in do time will she learn her lesson.” She said to me.

“Yes your grace may the Moon goddess bless you.” I said before I bow to her and leave Alpha Mikes office.

*MISSY’S POV*

‘Has she lost her f*****g mind! Finding your mate right after you become of age is nearly impossible and before graduation which is a week after I become of age! DAMN IT! ’ I think to myself pissed off at what just happened.

“Missy get in here NOW!” I hear my dad yell to me as I start to walk towards the room he was yelling from.

“SIT!” He demanded and I did nervous for what’s about to happen to me.

“Do you have any idea what you and your mother has done to this family! Huh? What f*****g beta has become their packs beta without a damn trial! Huh can you tell me?” He says to me angry.

“No one daddy..” I say.

“Your f*****g right no one because IT CANNOT BE DONE! You would still have to go through trial to become the next beta!” He yelled at me when I realized my mom was standing next to his chair where he was sitting before he got mad.

He calms down before continuing with his rant.

“Look what you and your mother has done is unacceptable for our family and you two will be punished!” He says while reaching into his pocket for something that looks like a key “you and your mother will not be allowed to leave the house unless it’s for school or work, do you two understand?” He asks as he pulls what I believe to be two cuffs that shines a light purple but I can hear my wolf Sidney cry.

“What is that?” I ask him but he doesn’t answer.

“Arm or leg?” He asks but I don’t answer.

“Missy! Arm or leg!” He says once more.

“What is that! I’m not going to have something on my arm that-” I said when he put the cuff on my arm as pain flies through my right arm making me fall to the ground and cry out in pain as if someone was tearing me apart and I watch as he walks over to my mom and asks her the same thing.

“My mate, arm or leg?” He asks her.

“My arm my mate..” she says as she sticks out her arm to receive the cuff.

“Take a deep breath my mate as this will hurt us both a lot.” He tells her before placing a kiss on her head and putting the cuff on her as they both end up screaming in pain as I did.

A few minutes go by and we all stand back up.

“Do you understand why I had to do this?” He asks us and my mother nods to him, while I’m still lost on what this is on me.

“Why won’t you answer me! What the hell is!” I yell.

“Its a binding cuff to stop us from transforming into our wolves and we can only go to your school and my job if we go anywhere else without pro mission we will regret it dearly.” My mom says me “make sure you go to school and back and only that trust me once you learned your lesson your father will not take them off Alpha Alice and Alpha Alex’s coming of age celebration we will attend only if your father says we can.”

“Only to school and back home? Please, I called bullshit!” I say as I start to walk out the back door while my mom chases after me but doesn’t follow me out the door when I’m hit with the same pain as before.

“Missy!” She cried just then my dad picked me up and took me back into the house and sat me down on the couch and explained what this is and why it hurts the way it does.

“This is just what your mother explained to you. It’s a binding cuff similar to the ones I wear. This lets me allow you and your mother to go to other places besides school and work. You can go outside but only if I am with you. You can not transform into Sidney until the cuff comes off. You also will not be able to speak to her until it is off.” He said as my eyes widened in fear.

“What! I can’t talk to Sidney! She won’t know what’s going on she’ll be scared daddy.” I cried.

“No she knows what’s going on and understands she will not be able to speak to you until it’s time. You will still be able to find your mate but not in due time will you have learned your lesson. Also I will be taking you and your mother to work.” He said as all I could do is cry.

*ALICE’S POV*

“Have you lost your mind Alice! What do you think your father would say if he knew this is how you treated me?” My mom cried in anger.

“That I’m right cause your acting freaking crazy mom. Like who tries to go against an alphas word?” I tell her.

“You are not alpha yet so quit acting like it!” She yelled.

“Coming from the one who told me to act like the alpha I am to become!” I say to her as I head upstairs to my room where I slam my door shut and start doing my homework and studying for our final exams that’s on Monday.

*FEW HOURS LATER*

“Finally,that’s over with.” I say as I lean back in my chair when my phone starts ringing.

“Fuck..” I answer “hello?”

“Hey kiddo!” My dad says.

“Dad!” I say in a shocking tone of voice.

“Yeah kiddo, I was calling to let you know I won’t be home for at least another month or two..” he says to me.

“But dad what about Alex and I’s birthday and our graduation? I don’t want you miss it..” I say to him heartbroken by the news he just told me.

“I know kiddo, and I’m sorry but the king needs my help a bit longer. If I was able to come home before your guys big days I would. You know I wouldn’t miss if it wasn’t important and I know you’ll hate me for missing it but a alpha can not turn down the king I promise when I come home we’ll go and celebrate together and do your guys alpha celebration okay I promise!” He says as I hear someone call his name in the background “but hey kiddo listen I’ll call you again tomorrow okay!”

“Okay dad I love you be safe!” I tell him.

“I will kiddo! I love you!” He says before he hangs up.

‘He’s really gonna miss it..’ I think to myself. ‘I better let mom and Alex know’

I get and I go downstairs to look for my mom and I can’t seemed to find her.

“Where in world can she be it’s only-” I look at the time on my phone “10:34pm! how long was I studying for!”

I keep looking around the house for her.

“This woman is really going to leave the house before 11pm. Wow mom, you know what I’ll tell her later I have to go find Alex and let him know what dad said and see what he wants to do.” I quickly throw on a pair shoes before grabbing my keys and heading to my car when I hear someone walking up and I quickly prepare to transform into Skye.

“Alice!” The voice calls as I see a figure emerge from the wood line across the road.

“Alex?! What the hell are thinking doing that you could’ve got hurt!” I say to him as he walks up to my car.

“Sorry sorry, I was wanting to talk to you about our celebration and wanted to see what you wanted to do?” He said to me as I claim down from the mini panic attack he gave me.

“I don’t know honestly, I haven’t really had much time to think about it until now, but dad called and he said he wont be home for a while longer he didn’t say why just that he’s gonna miss graduation and our day and that he promised make it up to us when he comes home.” I explained to him as we walked towards the porch and sat on the steps.

“Wait really? He’s gonna miss his only daughters birthday and graduation? Damn, I’m sorry Alice. If you want we can hold off on the celebration until he’s home.” He told me but I didn’t want that cause it’s also his day to that we’re celebrating not just mine and I told the whole that we was going to celebrate it with both packs and the Young Veils Alpha already called to let us know that they would be honored to come celebrate with us.

“Alex I can’t cancel it or even reschedule it we have a lot of people excited about it and plus its also your birthday to and besides your becoming your packs new alpha and I want to show you how the Blood Moon pack celebrates a new alphas birthday cause dad never wanted us to celebrate his birthday cause he doesn’t like the attention it brought to him even though he’s our alpha” I say as I roll my eyes to the fact he says he doesn’t like the attention.

“I mean I wish for your dad to be there for you though Alice. Trust me my parents aren’t going to be able to come due to them having to leave for a business trip..” he says to me hurt.

I don’t know if i should tell him that his dad called me saying they was coming and that they couldn’t wait but I don’t want to ruin their surprise for him.

“So it’s only going to be both packs and our Luna at the celebration..damn, the main people we want here to celebrate with us isn’t able to be here due to work.” I say when we see headlights pull into the drive way blinding us.

Alex and I look at each other lost on who that could be as we hear laughter coming from inside the car.

“I hope thats my mom. I couldn’t find her and I don’t know where she went cause she didn’t leave a note or anything saying she was going somewhere.” I say to Alex angry.

The cars headlights still blinding us we hear a car door shut and hear a pair of heels clicking amongst the concrete leading up to the stairs where we’re sitting at when the car starts to back out the driveway.

A woman laughs while what seems to be her digging in her bag“I hope that brat of a soon to be alpha is asleep she knows she has school in the morning and I’ll be damn if I-” she says before she notices Alex and I was outside and have heard everything she has said and has seen her get out a random car.

“You be damned if you what? Got caught sneaking around? Or talking bad about your OWN and ONLY child!” I say to her.

“Excuse me young lady! You will show me respect for I am your mother!” She demands as I look at her like she is crazy thinking i will do that after she said what she had said about me.

“Hey Alice, I’ll talk to you tomorrow about everything okay?” Alex says to me before I nod and he walks away heading to the pack house which is where other soon to be alphas from packs stay while their here.

“Why was he here you know boys aren’t allowed in the house without me or your dad here, you are grou-” she says to me.

“No one was in the house and last I check DAD said that if Alex needs to talk to and he’s not around that he can talk to me and just so you know what WE was talking about is none of your business before you even bother to ask me cause I WILL not tell you, Oh and dad called saying he wont be home for another two- three months so not only is he missing my gradation but also my eieghteenth birthday due to his work trip!” I say as I stand up and head up to my room and slam by bedroom door shut and blast cyberhex by Motionless In White and start running water so I can finally relax from todays stressful events when I feel my phone go off in my pocket.

*BUZZ BUZZ*

‘Hey I’m sorry about what your mom said about you. I don’t know how a mother could say that about her own daughter like that.’ Alex texted.

‘It’s whatever at this point if she wants to talk about me like that she can but shes not going to like what dads going to say to her when he comes back cause the scent she had on her wasn’t a woman’s scent but I just can’t pin point who’s scent it was.’ I replied as I grab a new pair of pajama’s my dad got me from South Korea when he went last year for a business trip to help another alpha train their pack and to help fight off rouge wolves who tried to take their land over.

‘The fact he brings small but cute things back from every trip makes happy and loved.’ I think to myself.

‘I mean did you get a weird feeling about them or no? Cause before they pulled up I started getting a bad vibe from whoever was in the driver seat. I don’t why but I did..’ Alex replies back to me.

‘No, I was mad at my mom for what she said about me. But I’ll call you when I’m out of the shower so we can talk about our celebration.’ I text back as I walk into the bathroom and start getting undressed and step into the shower.

*A HOUR LATER*

I step out the shower and start blow drying my hair and brushing my teeth then I start getting dressed and start my nightly skin and hair routine.

“I need to call Alex and see how his pack celebrates alphas birthday’s so we can add his packs traditions to and not just ours.” I say to myself as I turn off my music before grabbing a notebook and pen then start sailing his number.

It rings for a minute then picks up.

“Hello?” A females voices answers.

“Hey, um is Alex there?” I ask trying not to sound lost on why a woman answered his phone.

“Oh sorry he’s..in the middle of something..important..byyyyeeeee” she claims

“But wait-” I say before the call drops. “What the hell was that about?..oh well I’ll just talk to him tomorrow about it I have to go to bed.” I put my phone on charge and started falling asleep.

*JENNA’S POV*

I walk inside after Alice stormed off like she always does when she’s mad.

‘Your about to be eighteen not eight Alice!’ I think to myself as i put my purse down and take off my heels.

“I need a drink. She acts like it’s the end of the world cause Elliot isn’t gonna be here for her graduation or birthday.” I say to myself as I walk to our bar nook and poured a glass of Jack Daniels. “Please he missed a lot more before you was born. I’m shocked he didn’t miss our f*****g wedding’’ I take a sip.

*BUZZ BUZZ*

‘Thank you for tonight, I can’t wait for this weekend!?’ from an unkown number.

I look at my phone and smirk before finishing off my drink and heading up stairs and get ready for bed.

“Oh dear Alice in due time will your luck run out with you and your dad, in due time my dear.” I say to myself.
