Chapter2 “Prude”

1200 Words
Aaron stepped out of his home into a serene scene filled with the joy and comfort of daily life. Parents were playing with their children in the community square, smiles of happiness radiating from their faces. Yet Aaron knew that in just a month, all of this would vanish into thin air. He quickly exited the residential area and headed towards a Michelin three-star western restaurant not far away. A meal there would cost at least a thousand dollars, and in the past, Aaron had always hesitated to dine there. But now, he didn't care at all. Upon entering the restaurant, Aaron chose a seat by the window and ordered every single expensive dish on the menu. He also requested a bottle of Lafite Rothschild red wine. After ordering, Aaron easily spent ten thousand dollars. Even the waiters in the restaurant looked at him with ambiguous expressions, assuming he must be a wealthy second-generation rich kid. After all, who else but the wealthy would splurge on such expensive food for a single meal? Aaron didn't care what others thought. As soon as the table was laden with delicious dishes, he began stuffing his mouth voraciously. Perhaps because of his experience during the six-month icy apocalypse, eating such delicious food now moved him to the point of tears. His eating became somewhat fierce, drawing the attention and whispers of the surrounding diners. But Aaron paid them no mind. After all, in the apocalypse, people would even kneel and kowtow for a packet of instant noodles. By then, all civilization and morality would vanish into thin air. While Aaron was dining in the restaurant, a woman passing by the window stopped in her tracks. She had long, flowing hair, a carefully applied makeup, and wore Gucci heels. It was Blanche, the woman who had killed Aaron in his previous life. By her side was her close friend, Rebecca. Both of them couldn't help but glance longingly at the Michelin three-star restaurant as they passed by. Such a luxurious establishment had always been a great desire in their hearts. Unfortunately, their financial situation didn't allow them to splurge in such a place. But that didn't stop them from scanning the interior with admiring eyes. Perhaps they might stumble upon a wealthy second-generation scion and snag a rich boyfriend. Suddenly, Blanche's eyes widened as she spied Aaron inside, surrounded by a table laden with top-tier cuisine. "Isn't that Aaron? How can he afford to eat here?" she exclaimed in surprise. Rebecca also looked stunned, covering her mouth in disbelief. "Aaron, is he actually so rich?" As she spoke, Rebecca cast a suggestive glance at Blanche and chuckled, "Blanche, you're really blessed! That guy who's been chasing after you is actually a secretive second-generation rich kid." "Look at all the food on his table, it must have cost at least fifty or sixty thousand. Who else but the wealthy could afford such an expensive meal?" There was a hint of envy inRebecca's tone. She knew that Aaron had been pursuingBlanche for half a year now. However, Blanche had been stringing Aaron along, neither rejecting nor accepting him. Blanche was a complete gold digger who had always dreamed of marrying a wealthy second-generation scion and living a life of luxury. But she also couldn't bear to give up on Aaron, a well-off man with a car and an apartment in LA. So, Blanche had been treating Aaron as a backup option. But seeing him enjoy a luxurious meal worth tens of thousands of dollars all by himself today madeBlanche start to doubt. "Could it be that Aaron is actually a secretive second-generation rich kid?" she pondered, resting her chin in her hand. The more she thought about it, the more she believed it was possible. "Wait, don't dramas often have characters like that?" she said to herself. "They're actually very wealthy, but pretend to be ordinary people to find true love." Blanche almost convinced herself of this idea, and her eyes sparkled with excitement. If that were true, she would have saved herself a lot of trouble. After all, Aaron had been pursuing her for so long that she felt that if she just nodded her head, he would propose to her immediately. "Blanche, let's go inside and find Aaron!" suggested Rebecca. In truth, she had her eyes on the delicious spread on the table. After all, this was a Michelin three-star restaurant, and ordinary people might never have the chance to taste such fine cuisine in their entire lifetimes. Blanche hesitated for a moment but shook her head and said, "It's not a good idea. It might make him think I'm a gold digger." "Alright, let's wait outside and pretend we encountered him by chance," said Blanche. She wasn't foolish enough to compromise her dignity for a meal. Even if Aaron was truly wealthy, she wanted to maintain her image as a goddess. Only then, once they were together, would she be able to control Aaron and keep him as her devoted admirer. So the two of them hid not far from the restaurant, waiting for Aaron to come out. After eating for more than an hour, Aaron patted his full belly contentedly. Next, he intended to go to the nearby supermarket to buy some supplies. Although he was confident about transporting supplies from the Walmart warehouse, caution was always advisable. It was better to have some supplies on hand in advance to avoid any unexpected situations. After all, he had experienced hunger before and couldn't allow any accidents to happen. Aaron happily settled the bill and walked out of the restaurant door with the waiter's eager smile. Just then, a familiar voice rang out beside him. "Aaron, what a coincidence!" Aaron turned his head and saw Blanche and Rebecca standing there. Blanche deliberately brushed her hair behind her ear, revealing her pale neck and pink earlobe, a classic move used by green tea girls to unconsciously captivate men. As a top-tier green tea girl and white lotus, Blanche naturally excelled at such techniques. However, Aaron was no longer the naive admirer he once was. After all, not long ago, this woman had caused him to lose his life, and she had even wanted to break his ribs to make soup! Thinking about it, Aaron's gaze suddenly became cold and murderous. After all, the apocalypse was coming soon, and there would be no consequences for killing her. Blanche felt chilled to the bone under Aaron's gaze and nervously asked, "Aaron... what's wrong with you?" Aaron quickly composed himself and said calmly, "Nothing, I thought you were someone else." He suddenly changed his plan. Letting this woman die so easily would be too lenient. It would be better to let her experience the despair of the apocalypse and then kill her with cunning methods. With intention and foresight, Aaron had plenty of time to prepare and, with his memories from his previous life, he had a hundred ways to make her suffer and die. So now, there was no need to deal with her. The most crucial thing now was to build the safest shelter possible, allowing him to survive comfortably and safely during the apocalypse.
