A moment of silence filled the air as her story came to it's conclusion.

"You must think I'm a terrible person now Ren."

"What?! why would I think that? you did nothing wrong. If anyone of us is a bad person it's me, I killed countless of innocent people. You didn't kll anyone, Even if you did, that pig deserved it."

"Yeah but you did that to give mankind a fighting chance, besides I don't think a bad guy would've held my hand. You can let go now by the way."

"why should I? maybe I just like holding your hand"

"Wow. You're really going to try and flirt with me after hearing a story like that? You really are heartless"

"Oh God that really hurt, im so sorry, didn't really mean anything by it"

Ren's face was evidently covered in embarrassment

"hehe who would've thought mr grumpy could make such an expression. Wish I could get a picture hehe."

"You little... enjoy it while it lasts because you'll never see an expression like it Again."

Both bursted out laughing. Suddenly there is was a mood shift in the air.

"Hey Ren, let me help you save the world"

"Didn't you hear me? I'm not gonna be any saviour. I'm gonn-"

"Gonna live your life doing all the things you didn't get to do in your past life, right? Yea I heard you, however, wouldn't you agree failing to save the world was one of the biggest things you didn't do?

"Yea but..."

Shari reached forward and held his hand

"Are you scared ren?"

"... To be honest Shari yes I am. everytime I close my eyes I get flashbacks to all the gory details that happened in my past life. It's not even limited to when my eyes are closed, every visual I see, every sound I hear, all bring back som sort of memory."

" I won't say I know exactly what you're going through but I understand it for the most part. However, despite all that, I believe deep down you already know you should be the saviour"

"What gave you that idea?"

" You did. You've only told your story to two people right? and neither of us told you to be a saviour, atleast not initially. You're the one who subconsciously decided that all on you're own."

"Maybe you're right, maybe subconsciously I do know that's what needs to be done... but that doesn't mean I want to do it."

"You're a stubborn one aren't you?, well I just thought witnessing the world ending twice would be too much for your little heart to handle."

~Next he's gonna say I'm just a stranger who knows nothing about him hehe~

"What did you say?! what do you know about what my heart can handle? you're just a strange girl I just met, you know nothing about me"

~hehe I knew i..t~

"Hey wait a minute, how am I strange?"

"who wears hoodie and booty shorts? that's just strange"

"Attacking my dressing now? you do realise you're dressed like an old man right?"

"Jokes on you, I am an old man"

Shari couldn't help but laugh at that. Night was now upon them and they decided to part ways. Despite them touching on some rough topics during their conversation, they both enjoyed the time they spent together very much. However, even with all that, they both felt they had a lot of questions they still needed answering.

A couple days go by. The meeting with Shari was now nothing more than a distant memory in the back of Ren's mind. They haven't seen each other since that evening they met, which is mostly because Ren spent all the days as a shut in. The reason why he mostly stayed in though, was entirely because everytime he tried leaving the house, everything he saw or heard would trigger past tragic memories, which caused him to have breakdowns on multiple occasions. However, He was finally starting to fully adjust to being back in the past. The nightmares and all the flashbacks being triggered by things around him all lessened, although not by much. What he didn't know though, was that he was about to witness the world changing right before his eyes once again.

On the other hand, Shari was out and about. She was on the lookout for Ren while handling business of her own. In the town of Tompa, where they lived, there had been alot of reports of kidnaping and raping of young girls in the area lately and Shari made it her mission to hunt those who preyed upon the women of the town. She had an unquenchable hatred and disgust towards men, notably those who would assault women, and showed no mercy when it came to eradicating them from the human race.

A few days ago she got information about the ones responsible for the kidnapping. It was that information that lead her to the bar where she met Ren. She got a little distracted by Ren's story back then and didn't get to make contact with the perpetrators.

After thoroughly searching around the place for the last few days and coming up empty handed, she decided to revert back to plan A to get them.

She returned back to the bar at night to inact her plan. Her Master plan was to bait them into attacking her next, then when alone, she'd take care of them.

Only 15 minutes in and her plan was going immaculately so for, she was drinking alot of alcohol and putting on a drunk girl act. It wasn't long before she noticed alot of eyes preying on her. It was then, she decided the time for the next stage in the plan had come.

She got up,struggling with every step, and walked out. Just as she predicted, four guys followed her out the door soon after.

"Hey there Missy looks like you need a hand or two?"

She turned around to see only one of the four men standing there behind her, with a grin on his face.

~oh? seems they decided to split up, this might get interesting~

"Hey darling, I sure could use the help of a strong man like you, could you lead me to an Inn? I'm from out of town"

"Ofcourse haha I know exactly what you need, come this way, there is an Inn right around the corner"

"Oh really? I'm so glad I met you here tonight mister, if I didn't I don't know what I might've done."

"haha don't worry about it, I'm sure you would've figured something out."

"aww probably not though I'd be definitely lost without you.

After walking for a couple minutes they finally reached an alleyway.

"How much longer before we reach the inn mister? My feet are killing me"

"Just a little bit longer, its right around that corner"

"ah ok"

~Finally, I'm just itching to kill all of you~

As soon as she turned the corner, Shari realized she wasn't the only one putting on an act. To her surprise, there were around 14 or 15 guys waiting around there in the alley for her.

"You really are a f*****g i***t aren't you huntress? did you really think we wouldn't catch on to your tactics by now after you used it to killl so many of our guys? maybe old dogs really can't learn new tricks"

The entire group bursted out in laughter and started mocking her.

"Huntress? I kinda like it. How long have you known it was me?"

"How long? hahaha since the beginning. We were the ones who leaked the info in the first place, you thought you had us but we've been playing you from the start"

"Since the beginning?! ahhhhh!!! that's embarrassing, if I had known I wouldn't have humiliated myself like that, I felt disgusted just breathing the same air as you."

"hahaha it doesn't seem you understand the situation you're in, you're about to die b***h"

"So it took 15 of you just to take on 1 girl huh. seems you're just a bunch of p*****s to me"

"What the f**k did you say? I'm going to kill you"

"Enough with the small talk, time to pay for what you did to those girls, assholes"

With those words, the brawl began. They proceeded spreading out first, being extra cautious with every step. Armed themselves then charged Her. Shari was surrounded by guys on all sides and they were all cramped inside the alleyway, however that did not affect her fighting abilities at all. She fought in such a way, using jumps, kicks and flips that made her manuvers looked majestic, comparable only to a butterfly gliding through the wind to deliver each blow. She was dodging each attack flawlessly and producing counteracts of her own. In less than 5 minutes, atleast half the attackers were already on the ground with something broken, whether it be Nose, feet,hands or even necks.

As if that was only the warm up, she pulled out two knifes with each blade being long enough to stretch from the elbow to the wrist and resumed her assault. She mercilessly finished off every single one of them, each kicking and screaming. It was nothing less than a m******e. To finish it all of she ended it with what was known around the town as her calling card. She cut each an every one of their d***s off and stuffed it in their mouths.

" I was wondering who was causing all this commotion so close to my house, but to think it was you."

Without even turning around she replied

"So you finally decided to say something, Long time no see Ren"

"So you noticed? come with me, if you stay like that your nice chocolate skin might get permanently stained with blood."

"ofcourse I noticed, your head is so big you can't hide anywhere"

"Just shut up and follow me, before I change my mind"

After walking in awkward silence for a while Shari spoke up.

"Aren't you a little too calm, after witnessing me commit pretty much a m******e?"

"Pretty much? that sure is putting it nicely. it was exactly a m******e, besides I've seen worse don't worry about it."

~ He's definitely a weirdo~

The silence resumed, but only for a little longer, because they soon reached their destination

"We are here"

"Finally, feels like I've been walking forever"

"you've literally only been walking for about 4 minutes at most, it only seemed long because we were walking extremely slow and the awkward silence ofcourse"

They went straight inside. They house wasn't anything really impressive, just 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen and a living room. Fully painted in white both inside and outside.

"How can you casually mention the awkward silence like that?"

"what do you mean? isn't that normal? oh the bathroom is that way"

"Thank you. I probably should get cleaned up right see you in a bit "

Shari headed to the bathroom and Ren tried to make himself busy in the kitchen. He wasn't the best cook, but he could cook well enough that one could eat and enjoy without any complaints.

On the menu for tonight, was simply the most simple dish he could prepare given the state of his kitchen in regards to groceries.

About 45 minutes go by and Shari finally returned from the bathroom. She walked into the living room, and her sweet aroma changed the mood of the entire room as she step in as if an angel had just walked in.

she took a deep breath

"mhhmm wow something smells wonderful, what are you cooking?"

"I could say the same about you, you're smelling amazing. Didn't know I had anything in my bathroom that gave off such an aroma"

Shari blushes discreetly

"what are you talking about? I naturally smell this good" *Flips hair*

"yeah right, must've snuck out to buy something, that could explain why you took so long too"

" oh no I took so long because I spent the first ten minutes waiting by the door with my knifes, to kill you if you tried to peep on me as I showered"

" How can you say such a terrible thing in such a sweet voice?"

"it's one of my many talents hehe. I was also searching for something to wear in the bathroom, as you might have forgotten all my clothes were a little dirty, also blood is a little hard to wash off so it's only natural I took some time."

~now that I think about it, shes wearing nothing but one of my old t-shirts. I completely didn't even think about what she would wear after cleaning up~

"You still haven't explained the sweet aroma though"

"Are you really that concerned about that? it was in the top small drawer. I'm guessing it was your girlfriend's, well maybe ex in your case since you're in the past now."

" No wonder it was so nostalgic, I was going crazy trying to figure out from where I knew the scent. it was my sister's, I gave her a drawer way back then, when she'd come over every now and then"

"You have a sister??"

"Yes and a brother too, enough questions for now though. let's eat, besides I have somethings I'd like to ask you too"

They both sat together at the dining table and enjoyed their meal. Shari was shocked at the quality of the food because she was expecting it to be horrible. In absolutely no time the two plates were completely empty. The both cleaned up after themselves which took no time since it was two of them.

"guess it's time for you to interrogate me now Ren."

"interrogate? Why'd you have to make it sound like that? besides don't you have questions you'd like to ask me?"

"ofcourse, can I go first?"

Ren nods in agreement, signalling her to go first.

"Did we know each other in the future you're from? what was I like? have you met your family as yet?"

"Don't ask so much questions at once."

Ren paused for a second then continued

"No, I have not met my family as yet and I don't plan to, atleast not yet. After watching everyone die before me it'd be kinda weird and overwhelming meeting them now, I don't think I'm ready for that. Besides the only ones I'm close to are my sister and my brother. Wait a minute, Now that I think about it, my sister might've left some clothes here that you can wear."

"Do I have to? what if I like wearing your shirt"

Ren completely ignores her and continues

" As for your other question. I spent most of my past life in the eastern territory, specifically in the Colburn kingdom. I'm guessing you weren't one of us idiots who moved to the eastern kingdoms in a rush after the sightings, In order to get in on the karma beast hunting action. I never met you so I don't know what you were like, however after seeing you fight I think I might have an idea of who you were. There were legends that spread across the four territories of a man hunter, who would slaughter men in the most horrific way possible. The names that spread with the legends were the butterfly huntress and Balls cutter. I think that might have been you"

" Butterfly huntress? Balls cutter? who Even came up with these names? I'm not even hunting butterflies"

" is that the part a normal person should be concerned about? now I'm more certain it's you."

"aren't you going to ask me why I kill men?"

"Well I heard your story so I kinda have an Idea, also you haven't killed me yet so you clearly kill with reason, besides those men didn't exactly look like good people."

" You're either extremely perceptive or extremely stupid hehe. You say I'm not normal but which normal person says kill with reason? you're not normal at all either"

"you're totally right"

Both bursted out in laughter.

"My turn to ask questions, what happened to your brother? last time you said you haven't seen him since the incident happened. what exactly happened?"

"I wish I could tell you what happened to Denji but I really don't know. He just completely disappeared without a trace. After killing him, he ran straight out of the house without saying a word to me or even looking back. I stood there staring at the body in shock because I couldn't believe what just happened. Before I knew it mom came home. Without even batting an eye at me, her own daughter, she ran straight to her husband, crying telling him to get up. To be honest I don't know how I felt about it back then, however as soon as she did that I walked off and headed to my room."

" I didn't leave it until the next morning and when I did I noticed the body was gone as if it weren't even there in the first place. The next thing I noticed was my mother's body hanging from the ceiling in her bedroom. Sometimes I honestly wonder if Denji ran away and killed himself too after what he did, just like her."

Shari stopped talking, she looked over to Ren who began slowly approaching the window. He slightly pulled the curtain to the side and immediately froze in his tracks. Curious about his actions, Shari followed him over, only to notice the most terrified look on his face. He started sweating uncontrollably and was shaking in pure terror. Tears started falling from his eyes as he dropped to his knees. Shari tried to get to him but he didn't respond. until suddenly he started muttering.

"no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no this can't be happening, not this early, not again please God no why must I go through this again?

"Go through what Ren? Hey can you hear me?"

Shari moved the curtain completely, what awaited her outside was a bloodred sky with strange beast like birds of all sizes raining down.

"This is it, this is how the end of the world begins"
