He was dressed in the guise of a high roller; however, he made one compromise. He’d discarded the Gucci loafers in favor of his Sperry Topsiders. The boat shoes would give him extra grip on wet surfaces and could give him an advantage later that evening. He securely taped the Bul Cherokee to the small of his back, and the feel of the cold weapon against his skin was a comfort to him. They came for him at eleven o’clock. Tom let them into the room. The two burly bodyguards carried small zip-up pouches, which hinted at concealed weapons to Tom’s practiced eye. They both wore unobtrusive headphones
