Spear Dance: Annihilation

[It’s coming towards me. It’s too late to dodge now.] she thought as she saw the spinning spear move closer and closer.

*SHWU!* *SHWU!* *SHWU!* *SHWU!*

Time seem to have stop when the spinning spear was about to hit Cassiopeia when Raven appears in front of her catching the spear. Their eyes met, Cassiopeia saw how Raven’s eyes changed. His eyes turned black leaving only his pupil their purple color. The change is his eyes sent chills to her spine, she also saw the ancient writings around Raven’s eyes.

“Sorry.” He said with a calm tone.

Raven immediately turn towards the golem behind him and with all his might, he threw the spear and hit it on its legs.

*FWOOOSH!*

*CLANK!*

The spear ricochet behind the golem and before it lands of the ground Raven caught it and threw it at the golem again.

*Drops*

The apple roll on the ground and stops when it bumps on Rowan’s shoes.

[That- that stance is-] Blake Lenus thought as he remember the stance. “Just as I thought, I wonder why that stance was familiar earlier. That is not a stance, it is-“

[Spear Dance: Annihilation. This is my favorite technique that Aranx taught me.]

[A short flash back]

*Clank!* *Accelerates* *Clank!* *Accelerates* Clank!* *Accelerates* *Clank!*

“Thou [you] have gotten faster in [such a small amount of time.]. [Why do you like this] technique? There are a lot more useful [interesting technique] than this.” Aranx said as he deflect every spear that Raven throws at him.

*FWOOSH!*

*SHWU!*

Raven appeared above him and threw the spear as he deflect it with a single swing of his sword.

*Clank!*

The spear spins and lands on the ground, Raven appeared on his knees, panting in exhaustion.

“Haa! Haa! Haa! That’s because I think it is beautiful.” He said with a smile on his exhausted face as the sweat started to flood his face.

“That is [quite the lame answer] a simple answer. Well, if you like that [then its fine.].” Aranx said as the sword in his hand disappeared.

[End of flashback]

“Hey, is he really not using mana manipulation to move that fast?” a student said as he starts to break some sweat.

“I can’t even follow him with my eyes.” A student added. “Is he really a human?”

[What happened to Raven? Why are his eyes black? And the writings across his face.] Cassiopeia thought as he stood there lost in her thoughts.

Raven throws the spear consecutively while dodging the attacks of the golem.

*BOOGS!* *BOOGS!* *BOOGS!* *BOOGS!* *BOOGS!* *BOOGS!* *BOOGS!*

“Instructor Edward, is he really a student?” Instructor Andrew asked with a concerned face.

“W-What kind of ridiculous question is that? Of course he is, but it doesn’t look like he will need all the lessons that we are teaching the other students. Given his abilities, he might even surpass all the combat class instructors.” He said as he turns to instructor Andrew.

Instructor Andrew stood there silent with his eyes widened.

[Huh? Why is he wearing that expression? I know that seeing a student having us showing his exceptional physical ability is shocking, but is there any need to be that afraid?] instructor Edward thought as he saw the shaking body of instructor Andrew.

“Even if he is fast, his attacks are not going through the golem.” A demi-human said with a smile in his face.

“He is just fast but not strong, he surprised me earlier with his inhuman movements but now it’s boring.” A human student said as he shakes his head.

The students started to get disappointed at Raven’s performance.

“But to be that fast, it’s shocking. I have never seen a human nor demi-human move that fast in my life. It’s understandable that his attacks are not getting through since it is a golem and its made of hard material but I wonder how will a demi-human or a human will be reduced to if they are to be subjected in such experience.” Jared said with a cold tone. “If he can make a spear out of nothing in a fraction of mere seconds, he can just nail the person on the ground with a single spear and keep throwing countless others without any sweat at all. Have you ever considered that possibility?” he said with an irritated expression. [He did not even use his mana yet this punks dares to even look down on him just because the attacks that he is making are not affecting the golem.] he thought as he grit his teeth in anger.

“You think I am afraid of you?” the demi-human said as he glare at Jared.

“Huh?” Jared replied with an expression like he is about to explode.

The atmosphere was getting uncomfortable when some student of each other’s race stop them from fighting.

“That technique is from a person I once met when I went to the Kingdom of Rodom as a delegate from our kingdom. He wield his spear with great mastery like the spear is a part of his body, he is from the dark elf race so we had a little fight but we somehow manage to make up. After that he said that there is a famous hunting ground where you can hunt any kind of monster, having nothing to do. I followed him since I also want to hone my skills. We fought so many kinds of monster and there is one monster that caught my attention, a huge snake. It’s scale are obviously hard so I advised him not to taunt the monster since we might not leave unscathed but he only smiled at me and said ‘trust me, I will show you something that I have never shown anybody’. After saying that, he threw his spear at the snake and just like I thought, it’s scales are hard enough that the spear ricochet back towards us, that he immediately caught and just as that student did, he also threw the spear over and over as he dodge the snake’s attack while catching the spear at the same time. Eventually the snake’s hard skin weakened and with his last throw he pierced the snake’s body and his spear actually pierced through the snake.” Blake Lenus said with a concerned face.

[Where the hell did that student learned that technique? For a student from this kingdom to have a technique from a person I knew that lived in a different kingdom is very intriguing.] he thought as he stares at Raven’s movements. [They may be using the same technique but this student is even faster than that guy.] he added.

After hearing the story from Blake the other family heads turn towards him.

“Then where is that person now?” Neon asked with an interested face.

“Dead.” He answer immediately. “After the visit to another kingdom, a few years later I received a letter and notified me that he died during a monster subjugation. The royal family decided to let me know since they saw that we were close to each other even when we are from a race that has internal conflict with each other.” He added.

The eyes of the other family heads widen after hearing the sad news and their hearts beat rapidly after realizing something that made them look immediately at Raven.

[If that guy is dead for a few years now, then how did that child know that technique?] Neon thought as he felt a little anxious.

[The family heads are confused and some of them might already have some things in mind after hearing that revelation from Blake. But it’s understandable if the bearer knows since he is blessed by the Almighty.] Rowan thought as he glance at Gilbert.

[I know what this guy is thinking. We must take care of the problems with the other family heads as the family heads that dedicated our life for the bearer.] Gilbert thought as he stole a glance at Rowan while nodding his head.

The sight of Raven’s movements made everyone inside the testing ground anxious and jealous of his physical capabilities and the other students started to talk about how he manage to attain such highs.

[That bastard! He was taking me lightly during our duel after all?! Am I that weak to be look down on?!] Thomas grits his teeth in anger.

His friends and Kate knew what he is thinking after seeing Raven’s abilities.

“I didn’t think that I’d get to see the person we bullied once to be like this at all.” One of Thomas’ friends said with a guilty expression.

“I know right?” another one added.

The student with the glasses manage to hear what they whispered to each other.

[Disgusting.] he thought as he wore a cold expression.

“Hey what do you think he’s doing with all that movements?” Kate asked the student with the glasses.

The others wanted to hear what he thought as well that they moved closer to hear everything that will leave his mouth.

“I have a name. Well, whatever. I think he is not attacking thoughtlessly. His attacks up until now as I can see are only the limbs of the golem. He might have an idea how to defeat it without using him mana but the rest is a mystery. Let’s just wait and see what he will do next.” He said as he adjusted his glasses.

[That student is striking the limbs of the golem on purpose. He knows that the connector of the limbs is its weakness and attacks it with such fine precision.] instructor Andrew thought as his heart started racing.

His shaking body shivers every time Raven lands a hit at the limbs of the golem.

*Clank!*

*FWOOOSH!*

*BOOOGS!*

[This golem may be a lot weaker but its structure is pretty sturdy that the spear is hardly making any big damage on its limbs and it is starting to move slowly that it did earlier. The golem is starting to feel the effects of my attacks. Raven thought as he dodge the punch of the golem while catching the spear and throwing it with great strength.

The spear travels a short distance and manage to pierce through one of the golem’s arms.

*BUUUGS!*

[What do you know. I didn’t think one of its arms is going to give up.] Raven thought as he jumps high to catch his spear spinning high above the golem.

The expression on Instructor Andrew’s face started to collapse after seeing an arm of the golem fall off from its body.

[I knew it, his attacks are to weaken the structure of the golem. And it is starting to crumble in a very unsightly way.] the student with the glasses thought as he smiles.

“No way, so his attacks are starting to get through the golem?” a student gasp in awe after seeing the arm fall off.

“So all of his attacks earlier was not for nothing?” a demi-human said with a surprised face.

Everyone looking down on Raven were caught by surprise when his attack manage to take out an arm of the golem.

[How’s that? Eye-opener right? You dare to look down on him when you can’t even probably do something like he did just now right?] Jared thought as he flashes a smirk and made eye contact to everyone he encountered earlier.

[That is an ‘I told you so’ look]

All of them thought as they averted their gaze off of him.

“I can’t believe he is human with those movements.” Nash said with a cold expression.

“What are you saying? Even we demi-humans will have a hard time keeping that pace for a long time.” Kai said with an awkward smile on his face.

“Oh, is that right? And here I thought demi-humans are the pinnacle of everything.” Nash said in a mocking tone.

Kai look at him with a blank expression as Nash continues to talk bad about him.

[Is this guy messing with me?] he thought as he smiles awkwardly.

With Raven’s relentless assault of endless rain of spears from every direction, the golem’s durability suffered very much that its other arms started to fall off as it slowly stopped resisting.

After a few moments when all of its arm fell off, the golem stood still. Waiting for its end to come.

“I can’t believe it, even the summoned golem gave up.” A student said with a nervous tone.

“Look at the golem, its body is full of cracks. It is a lot different from what it used to look like earlier.” A student added.

While the students talk to each other about their impressions of the current look and state of the golem, instructor Andrew stood in shock after seeing all that happened.

[My family’s legacy. I can’t believe it. The golem that made our family famous for a lot of generations is reduce to this? I know I summoned a lot weaker than the original but I did not expect it to lose in a battle of durability between it and his spear.] he thought as he stood with a pale face.

Instructor Edward look at him with a concerned expression.

[Is he going to be okay?] he thought as he pats instructor Andrew’s back. “It’s going to be okay, I know it’s hard to watch the legacy of your family crumble like this but you can see it differently and make some preparations now that you know what its greatest weakness is and improve it so that this does not happen again.” He comforted.

Instructor Andrew nodded with a sad expression.

[It’s time to end this.]

Raven thought as he caught his spear.

*FWOOOP!*

In an instant Raven appears above the golem and threw the spear downward.

*FWOOOSH!*

*KIIIING!*

The air vibrates as the spear travel through the air with such speed that it made the edges of the blade of the spear hot. The spear struck the motionless golem on its head and moved its way through and divided the golem into two sides.

*BOOOOOGS!*

The right and left side of the golem separated as it crumbles down on the floor of the testing grounds leaving the spear piercing the floor.

“No way, he destroyed the legendary golem.” A student muttered.

*Lands*

[That was exhausting, I never thought that it would take too long to take that golem down. It may be weak but its structure is far from weak at all. If anyone weaker than me encounter that thing, they might tire themselves before making a huge damage at the golem.] Raven thought as he landed on his feet.

When he faced his fellow students, their expressions gave him a shock.
