Terrorizing Aura

His sweat run down his face as he saw the familiar figure standing inside the rune formation extending his arm towards the illusion.

“What is he doing here? Is he the rumored new student?” he thought as he felt his nerve beat on his head.

[A few minutes earlier.]

Everyone had their eyes on Raven inside the rune formation.

“I am really looking forward for this time but now that it has come I feel really uneasy.” Elder Nuu said aloud while fidgeting uncomfortably in his chair.

“What will this bastard pull of this time? He better do something that would not humiliate himself before I do.” Thomas said with a smirk in his face.

“I never saw him learn something when we were young, so I doubt he can do something really eye-catching.” One of his friends said while patting Thomas’ shoulders.

“There is nothing special about him so let’s just watch him humiliate himself.” Another one added.

“It’s a shame that he is illiterate, he has some looks.” One of Kate’s friend said while covering her mouth.

[I can’t say that since he won a duel that highly favors Thomas but he still turned the table and defeated Thomas with a busted sword. When he returned, he feel very different than he was before, it’s like he was reborn entirely.] Kate thought as she stare at Raven’s back.

[What is this feeling of uneasiness? This same feeling in the market but on that time the user of those spell were not around- wait. Is it possible that that guy and him are the same person?!] Nyx thought as he activated his family technique.

The outline of his eyes under the blindfold shine red as he scanned Raven’s body.

[I hope this student show a little talents since the atmosphere and discrimination within the academy might affect his future performance. I feel a little sorry for this young man, he might get caught up in the fight between the races.] his shoulder drop after seeing the new student stand in front of him.

“Here it goes.” Thomas said to his friends.

[Should I release some of my mana aura? Mana manipulation is ineffective without releasing your mana aura entirely. Aranx told me that it’s okay to flaunt sometimes but put it in moderation. I am very novice in something like this.] he told himself.

Raven pointed his finger at the illusion in front of him and released a part of his mana aura.

*BOOOM!*

“What the fu**?! How can this guy-“Thomas could not continue saying what he wants since the pressure caused by Raven’s mana aura is preventing him from doing so.

[Is this Raven’s mana aura?] Cassiopeia thought as she gasp for air.

The moment he release a part of his mana aura, it sent a shockwave to the whole academy, the students breath heavily as they feel their flesh crawling in fear, their eyes widen in terror be it human nor demi-humans, none of them felt safe inside the test grounds.

“How can someone like him have this much mana aura?!” Kate said while on her knees.

“Hey- you- said- that –h-he is –illiterate? Then how the f**k is he releasing this s**t?!” one of Kate’s friend cried as tears started to break out from her eyes in pain.

[This is exactly the same aura from the market, its him. It is definitely him but this aura is far more grin and terrorizing than the ice from the container.] Nyx thought as sweat started to fall from his forehead.

[What is this pressure!? There is no way a student like him can release such pressure.]

Is what all the students and instructors thought in their heads while gasping for air.

“What the heck is this? I thought he is a new student, this mana aura is like from someone on the level of the elders.” Fritz spoke to Nash beside him. “Hey why are you so silent all of the sudden?” he asked.

After hearing no answer from his friend, he turned around and saw Nash’s eyes filled with fear. [It’s my first time seeing him afraid like that, his can’t even retain his usual cold expression.] he thought as he realized that even his strong friend is afraid of the new student’s aura alone.

[This is not normal, a student like me can release such mana aura? Impossible!] Nash snapped back to reality when he saw Fritz watching him with a concerned look in his face.

“Don’t look at me like that, you should be concerned with yourself first you blockhead.” He said in a harsh tone.

“That’s a surprise I never knew you can crash a joke in this situation.” Kai said with an awkward smile.

“That’s my line you punk, did you learn of this beforehand?” Nash said with an angry voice.

“I’m just as clueless as you are.” He replied.

“What the heck is this?” Elder Nuu exclaimed in shock after feeling raven’s mana aura from afar. [Maybe this is the reason why the instrument broke.] he thought as he nearly jumped off of his chair.

“You feel it as well?” Elder Rigor asked the other elders beside him with a concerned face while gripping on his chair tightly.

[Where the heck did that kid came from?! To have even elders like us shake just by releasing his mana aura. This kid’s background is not something simple.]

Elder Yasrat thought as he lift his hand and see it shaking in terror. The other elders saw him shaking in fear but they can’t just laugh at him since all of them are shaking as well.

[This is how you properly make a wind blade.] Raven thought as he extended bot of his arms towards the illusion.

[He was not done?!] the instructor thought as he breathe heavily while clutching his chest.

[I will show both races how strong a proper wind blade can be. Huh?]

Raven look around and saw the students as well as the instructors uncomfortable. Some students are on their knees with just his mana aura alone. Raven stomp his foot on the ground heavily as he suppress his mana aura to stop the situation from getting worse.

*Stomp!*

[I’m such an i***t! I casually released my mana aura, a big mistake! I was used to fighting with Aranx all the time from three years ago that I forgot to adjust how much I should release when I face mortals! Argh!] he threw a tantrum in his head. [I should stop using mana aura around other students next time. Maybe I should stick to only using runes and rune formation from now on.] he told himself.

With Raven suppressing his mana aura, the situation went back to normal and students can breathe normally again.

“What a very suppressing mana aura, and it came from a human. It’s ridiculous to even think about it.”

“A human can never release mana aura at such level.”

“Imagine if he declare war in the whole of the city.”

The students murmured as they look at Raven with fear in their eyes.

Even with his mana aura suppressed, their body still remembers how terrifying the atmosphere earlier that some of them are still gasping for air.

Thomas and his group stare at Raven’s back with their eyes filled with absolute despair.

[Was this the same person that we bullied? Is he the person that I persistently tried to mess with? If he is this strong from the beginning then was he holding himself back on our duel? He could have killed me with just his mana aura alone.] Thomas thought as his body continues to shake.

“Impossible.” One of his friends muttered in shock.

[I knew it, it wasn’t just a lucky win after all. He is a monster.] Kate thought as her friends hold her shoulders to maintain balance.

“When are you going to start” the instructor ask.

[I was hesitant to ask him a question since I am afraid of what he did earlier and that I might piss him off. But I am an instructor here in the academy, I can’t let a student hold everyone back.] he thought as he tries too hard to stand upright.

“Sorry for the delay.” Raven replied.

[Here it comes again.]

The student body thought when they saw Raven extended his arm. The students grits their teeth in anticipation of Raven’s mana aura unleashing again.

[Here we go again, that agonizing moment!] Nash thought as he made a few steps back.

[Was it like this?] Raven asked himself.

Everyone was on the edge when Raven extended his hand but to their disappointment or should I say relief, the terrorizing mana aura did not emerged back.

The eyes of the instructor widen as he saw complex runes started to appear at the tip of Raven’s fingers up to his left eye which turned black with only his purple pupil retaining its color with a deviant smile on his face.

He felt the hair in his whole body stand stiff like needles stuck in skin, his temperature dropped significantly lower than usual as his teeth started clattering on their own as his face went pale.

[Impossible! I have never seen runes like that, much less seeing runes embedded on a person’s body. This young man is not human!] he told himself as he started to shake on knees. [This is not normal, there is no human sane enough to plant runes on their skin. Who is this kid?!] he told himself as he bath in his own sweat.

“Break” Raven said in a cold tone.

The illusion crumbled like dust on the ground, the lights on the runes stones slowly went dim and eventually vanished. The students were confused of what happened after they saw the lights of the runes in the rune formation disappeared. The instructor on the other hand went silent after seeing his rune formation get destroyed in front of him.

[IMPOSSIBLE! A rune formation is very hard to create and it is also very hard to destroy yet he destroyed it with only a single command! He is a monster!] “Monster!”

The instructor cried as he fell on his back trying to get away from Raven’s sight.

“Huh?” Raven muttered in shock. [What did I do? I only destroyed the rune formation since I can’t use my mana aura hence I cannot also use mana manipulation.] he thought to himself.

“What happened?”

The students are clueless as to what happened to the instructor to act that way towards a student.

“He is the one.” Nyx mumbled as his eyes widen in shock after seeing something he did not expect.

[The writings on his shoulder. He is the one.] he thought as he smiles awkwardly with his conflicting emotions. [I don’t know if I should be glad or be sad but grandfather, I found him! The bearer of the seal!]
