Not another Monday morning
The morning sun streamed across my bed. I groaned inwardly, I was still tired from the week before and had no desire to go to work. "Are you joking" the thought entered my head. In fact I was living the dream, the job that I didn't want to go to was my own little company.
Let's take a step back, a number of years ago, I had been a wife and mother who had once dreamed of owning her own beauty salon, but life and groceries had forced me to stay in one dead end job after another. Then came the divorce, while I had been working on keeping food on the table and petrol in the car, my husband had been entertaining one skank after another on my hard earned dime.
Here I am newly single and trying to find my new place in the world. My children are all grown up with husbands and children of their own. So I'm drifting through unfamiliar territory looking for a sign anything that will show me where my place is in this new normal.
All I know is that I can't stay where I am. I have to move forward and focus on my own needs and wants for the first time in my life. That is how I ended up in a new country with no money and no ideas.
