DAPHNE
“That will be all for today. Remember the deadline is in two days. I will not accept any submission once that day passes,” Miss Felicia says before walking out of the class.
I sigh and drop my pen.
“Babe!!” Mia runs over to me and I roll my eyes.
“You said you would come pick me up. Do you know how much I waited?” I snap angrily, standing up to carry my bag as we walk out of the class together.
“Girl, I’m sorry. I woke up really late and I actually texted you but you didn’t reply. I knew you were in class already so I rushed over to school,” she explains.
“Let’s find something to eat. I’m hungry,” I say.
“Did something happen? You don’t look all bright like yourself,” she raises her brows.
Of course she is always the type to figure out everything.
We get burgers and drinks from the school canteen and find somewhere to sit down. I tell her everything that happened last night — me and Tessa and how Kane reacted.
“Wow, he’s really a jerk. What the f**k? He’s already bringing a girl inside your marriage? f**k his handsome face, that’s awful.”
I can tell she's angry.
She hisses and sips from her drink angrily.
“So what are you going to do??” she asks.
“What should I do? Not like I care. And well it’s his house anyway,” I scoff.
I am serious though. I seriously don’t care if he brings anyone home, as long as I have my peace and they don’t touch my food. Who cares?
“Well, shouldn’t you be having fun too?? You can’t just let him get away with this. I understand your marriage might be complicated but either way, you both are still married. And what he’s doing is called cheating, no other words for it. And he’s disrespecting you,” Mia says.
Well she is also right, but I don’t really see it like that. Whatever Kane decides to do is none of my business actually. I just want peace.
“Okay,” I mutter, raising my brows.
“How about clubbing tonight?”
“Mia, today is Monday,” I groan.
“Okay, no clubbing. Let’s just hang out. Maybe to a classic restaurant? Take pictures and have fun? Who knows? You might find some hot dude, hotter than Kane even, so f**k him,” she scoffs.
“You’re making it seem like I’m heartbroken or something,” I laugh.
“Whatever. So what do you say??” she grins.
“Sure, let’s meet by 6,” I say.
“Perfect, and dress sexy,” she smirks.
Obviously she is up to something, but at this point she is right. I need to be away from Kane as much as I can so he will know I don’t see him either.
Maybe I should even get a boyfriend? I have never thought of it, but even if I don’t feel the crazy love everyone talks about, at least it can be fun as long as I don’t get caught.
Not by Kane.
But by our parents or even those damn reporters who are interested in everything concerning Kane and his life.

I apply the last thing, my lip gloss. It smells like cherry and the color is what I am mostly obsessed with, a shade of wine, but lighter.
It matches perfectly with my burgundy gown which hugs my curves and stops right on my thighs.
I wear my heels and carry my bag. I check myself in the mirror and I genuinely love what I see.
Seems like tonight will be amazing. It is almost six and Mia will be here soon.
I take my phone and step out of my room. Kane should be in his room. He arrived about thirty minutes ago, though I didn’t really see him but I know when he came home.
So all clear. Because I definitely hate to see his face right now.
I have just gotten downstairs when I receive a text from Mia.
Mia: I’m outside babe😍
I smile and I'm about to walk to the door when I hear Kane behind me.
“Where are you going?” he asks.
I scoff. He definitely can’t be referring to me, right? Nope.
I ignore that and take another step.
“I just asked you a question.”
“Where are you going, dressed like that??” His deep voice comes again, slapping the air hard.
